What a brilliant plugin, very clean and simple, and it works exactly as promised. Thanks for sharing this, Sergio. Would love to see more videos like this, shining a light on well-built but perhaps underrated plugins.

Thanks, Josh and definitely! :)
Excellent video. I add the Transcription plugin to add transcription functionality to my workflow. This way the entire transcript is available if I want it.
Saw this and had a thought in mind, this same thing can be applied to youtube using the piped or invidious instances and I think would work seamlessly as long as there is a full screen button with the video or something that make it take the upper 50 - 60% of the screen. Can be more easy to use for people who have multiple screens like me. I used to be technically knowledgeable back in the day but I don't want to be the one to be like "The more you fuck around the more you find out." I haven't checked if there is a plugins that does exactly what I am telling but if there is then do tell me. Btw love the series. Has been very helpful in learning Obsidian since I started digitizing my notes and journals, man that took a month to OCR and edit with still a good chunk remaining to be edited.
Superb video Sergio 🙌🏽 Obrigado. You explain these really well.

Gracias, Diego! Me alegra que te haya gustado! :)
Thanks, man this is exactly what I needed to consume content with intent!
Just a quick note in case someone runs into this: a podcast must be playing (it could be paused, but it must be up) in order to get the option to "Create Podcast Note." At first I was confused as to why I wasn't getting that option but it's because I didn't have any podcast loaded up to play. Thanks so much Sergio for all your great tutorials!

Was just searching as to why. Now I've got the podcast up and playing but command P doesn't bring up the option to create a podcast note.

NM! I just realized that what I assumed to be prepopulated note template was just a prompt for me to add my own. It's verking. IT'S VERKING!!!
Great video & explanation. Love to see it!

Awesome thanks!
could you pls make a video about how to switch from Notion to Obsidian. I have about 5000 pages in Notion and would like to have them in Obsidian. I tried the exporting method in Notion before but the file cannot be open in Obsidian. It would be great if you make a video about that topic

I'll look into it, thanks for the suggestion!
this has blown my mind and i'm now loving obsidian - is there a way to get the transcript, in a similar way to reader? thanks in advanced!
No way… I never cease to be amazed this is truly a gift for those of us who consume a lot of podcasts 🙏🏻 One thing, I wonder if they could add a timestamp with custom time selected (hotkey for timestamp + 10/30/45s segment) which would give you something similar to the Airr app function !

It truly is! I know exactly what you are referring to as I used Airr before. You can always post a feature request on the repo
Oh my God, I thought that Notion is something special, look at this! 🤩

Hi there, thanks! Are you referring to using obsidian as a personal finance app? I've been using a paid app to track my finances for 5 or so years since it connects directly to my bank accounts and since there's no way to do that with obsidian yet I don't plan on switching. Thanks for the kind words :)
I prefer using readwise reader but excellent video!

Likewise, this was before I started using it :) !
The itunes podcast link doesnt work when I copied and pasted. Not all podcasts show up even after entering the keywords.
hi, I tried this but it's showing fail. what can I do to fix that
This is so helpful! Is there a simple way to capture audio snippets from the podcast? I like to be able to capture quotes so as to be able to share them or or add them to other notes. It would be pretty awesome if the audio could feed straight into the voice transcription tool to then capture quotes directly both as audio and as text! I'm on the road most often while listening to podcast. Does anyone know if obsidian sync will carry these features across to IOS?

It would be indeed! But that is difficult to implement, even dedicated apps have a hard time doing it successfully!
Documentation says it's mobile friendly but I am unable to use the plug in on mobile (Android). I can order install the plug in just fine and add podcasts etc. However, I can't find the player or the queues etc. Has anyone manged figure this out?
For some reason, I wasn’t able to get the plug in to work. On neither phone or iPad.
nice tutorial

the plugin can be made better in podcast management like sorting new download option idk if the developer and take the source of gpodder and implement in it :D it will become fully featured.

Yes it worked thank you, but I doesn’t show linktime stamp if the audio is located in my vault... and another question is it possible to add spotify or any other audio resources outside itunes ? Thank you
In Obsidian, what makes a note atomic?
@FromSergio
Жыл бұрын
An atomic note is simply a note that contains and focuses on only one idea.
While I like the idea of this plugin, it just doesn't really work for me. I can't really listen to something while not doings anything else. So just sitting there, listening to a Podcast and just waiting for something to spark my interest and make a note is going to lead to getting distracten really easily. Thanks neurodivergent brain. Something that works better for me is a separate app called Snipd to listen to podcasts, tap my headphones/earbuds to mark something, and process it later. It also creates summaries of a podcast and a transcript, using AI. Snipd can sync with Readwise, and so to Obsidian; and I think it can even export notes directly to Obsidian without going through Readwise, though I do prefer doing so.
