Ever since I started making videos, one of the most frequently asked questions is, “How did you learn Chinese?”In today’s video, I’m finally sharing a little bit of my Chinese learning journey, what tips and tricks I used that got me from zero to sounding pretty good and fluent in 2 years and then after that to the level now where people are always very surprised when I started speaking. I’m by no means perfect, and I have quite a few friends who speak Chinese better than me, but I love language learning, and I love helping others improve, so I hope that my tips might be helpful. If you have any other questions, I’d love to hear from you, and I’ll probably be making more videos talking about what I did and how you can use it to improve, no matter what language you’re learning.

    这集对我们学习英语非常有帮助。另外姜文应该算是北京人,从小北京大院长大,说的大院北京话,和王朔背景类似

    对于中文汉语,可以做一个拼音图表,每天去看,慢慢就会知道全部常用字的精准拼音,发音自然就会很准确了。我自己本身都在做。

Mimic TV series and shows is really helpful, as it has context and it is fun to keep learning. This is exactly how I learn ENglish hahaa

I haven't spent a lot of time on Chinese, but have in Thai. You're right that the "secret" is just spending a lot of time in the right level of listening and reading ("I+1" in SLA talk). I tell people all the time that learning a language isn't complicated, but it's extremely difficult in mostly the same way that becoming a top-level distance runner is. Put in the right kind of time, and lots of it. There aren't really any shortcuts, despite all the videos trying to tell you that there are.

As a native Chinese mandarin speaker, I think you speak better and clearer (enunciation) than many native speakers. Kudos! Perfectionism is the way, haha 😛

@@ppoortatopoteto4569 it’s individual preference and pronunciation differences. Not all native speakers speak like that. Chinese native speakers can come from different regions and some accents are harder for learners to understand.

I don't know a single word in chinese, but as a Brazilian I feel tones are the most important thing by far, and then all those consonants (z/c/s, zh/ch/sh, j/q/x). Once you got all this extremely crazy stuff internalized you might be ready to start learning the language as a whole.

    他虽然的确有谦虚的成分,但曹操、金小鱼和于中美他们的中文真的比马思瑞要强。马思瑞还是多少带点口音,而且发音有一点点过于用力。闭着眼睛听他说话,仔细一点还是能听出是外国人,但那几位几乎完全听不出来。

Listening and imitating is super important. You don't even start out with sentences or even words, sometimes you just try to make a sound. It's basically babbling for adults.
