I usually get slightly upset about legacies who say “oh it doesn’t give an edge at all” but your honesty is very appreciated. You definitely didn’t get in only because you were legacy.

The entire video was amazing! Congrats on Cornell!! one more piece of advice regarding application for other students who are going to apply -> you can also use the additional info section (650 words) to talk more about a particular extracurricular activity if you feel like 150 chars are not doing justice to the work you did. tbh, you can use that section for many purposes, like talking about low grades, unusual situations, etc... However, don't use it for writing a totally new personal essay. That section should be used only to emphasize some other sections or to add some concrete, factual, and to-the-point info.

it’s a little weird, but her school actually calculates the unweighted GPA on a 4.33 scale!

I thought it was 150 words too! I wrote it all on a separate document then I realized i twas 150 characters 😩
