By the time you pass it down to the kids Rolex will probably refuse to COA it because they'll think it's just too dated for them. Besides, those ceramic bezel inserts don't age or wear gracefully, the slightest damage will look most unsightly and it will need to be sourced from China.

Just got mine! At one local AD I was told 5-7 years, so got on the list for sub (6 months). Then another AD told me 1-2 years for a Pepsi GMT. Just A couple months later they called and said “guess what just showed up?! How soon can you get down here?!”. From everything I’ve heard and been told, WILD stroke of luck I guess.

Congrats on the new watch. Love my BLNR but I’ve been tempted recently with the Pepsi. Close to impossible now to get here in Dubai so well done on picking one up in London 👏🏾

When they rereleased the "Batman" GMT, it was with an updated movement. So it wasn't just a bracelet change.

I’m now based in Bahrain for a while. Just bought a SD43 and a GMT ‘Root Beer’ Steel & Rose gold from Rolex AD. They still give you the warranty card. Although card has to be complete with your details and they register online with Rolex. They are promising me a Pepsi very, very soon. Unfortunately Middle East prices, are much higher than UK / US. I tried to get these watches from AD in UK but no luck. Cheers

Well done. Wanted this but gave up and bought Tudor GMT.

The bracelet stretch doesn't occur when you wear the watch to tight, but when you wear it too loose and the links keep moving around the pins/screws. It's the friction that wears out the holes in the links, a static pull won't.

AD's rarely give positions on a waiting list, you are most likely given a rough timeframe in which the watch is expected to arive. If you are a first time buyer from the AD, especially for a high demand watch like any sport model rolex, you will especially struggle to get an AD to take your seriously. If i was planning on getting a rolex for the first time I would register interest in a few different AD's for a few models (eg; sub, gmt, daytona), whilst keeping in contact with my AD's on a somewhat regular basis. If you make yourself known in the stores, the better relationship you have with the AD the more likely you are to recieve one faster. I could also recommend buying a less in demand like a tudor or omega, if looking to get a rolex, this may be bias but it goes a long way with AD's. Dealers usually make first time buyers jump through more hoops to really see who is buying for the watch or the flip. After buying your first one, it will be eventually easier to get the more in demand models and the AD might even contact you first! However from experience this does depend on the AD, I have had way less luck with any WoS dealer's despite having bought in the past. Wish you the best in getting the watch your after, just be patient :)

Good video. I picked up my batgirl today i personally love it on this bracelet. In fact think it works way better on a Batgirl than a pepsi with a jubilee, plus the pepsi originally had the Oyster which looks more suited and nice to keep its heritage. . Im glad Rolex were forced legally to give the buyers the card now with the watch. I have a oyster Pepsi on order too, nice to have a mix of bracelets on my two GMTs. I know you say market will drop on this 3 year old video..however its gone up more...the pepsi is now selling around 18 grand on grey market..just crazy...but they cost 9k now retail

Hi, it’s been eight months since you bought the watch. Are you still enjoying it? I’ve got to admit I had my heart set on the latest incarnation of the Batman but after seeing so many videos on the Pepsi I may change my mind! Would you mind sharing a bit more info on the value of the “purchase portfolio” AD’s are insisting on before they will sell you a steel Rolex, please? I only ask as I had a 21 year relationship with my AD, having spent near 25k in their store alone, and yet this seemed to mean nothing as I had to complain to head office after waiting nine years on the Daytona’s waiting list. I’m even thinking of buying from the grey market for the GMT, having now spent 34k with the AD (after my Daytona in 2018) and getting no recognition for it. What do you think? Cheers.

Love these vids. Just brilliant.

It’s amazing what you can see temporarily in an AD window if you keep your eyes peeled. I saw a 40mm Yacht Master with the sexy Rhodium and blue dial at the weekend. They wanted eight nine. It’s a beautiful piece but it wasn’t for me. Sure it’s not a crazy sought after piece but it’s a cool unusual piece with a knockout platinum dial. Steel sports Rolex can be bought on the high street if you’re lucky. Probably someone on the list got first refusal and walked so in the window it went. It’ll be gone within 48 hours. They wanted to take the plastic off and keep the warranty as you say.

For a watch that's £5000+ or even triple that or more.. I most definitely would enjoy having the card, box and other documentation just as much as the watch itself

XoFSpade maybe not but if you get it from a Rolex AD then it’s worthwhile because you should then put your name down for a Rolex sports watch and they can see you have purchase history 👍🏻

@@RobinHood-us7sg History of what? Buying popular sports watches? If you go in and offer them a deal you have better chance of getting a sports Rolex. For example - speak to the manager, ask what they have been sitting on for a while and if they could get you a Sub/GMT etc if you take it off their hands there and then. Ok so you might have to stump up £10k for a bi metal datejust 28 but if you want to move up the queue, that's one way. Rolex ADs are businesses just like anywhere else.

I was on a vacation in Turkey this summer and we were in a public bus on our way to the hotel, the new pepsi almost what just came out and I saw this guy, from Germany wearing it I looked at it and he noticed it, and all out of a sudden he said he was very happy with it, he thought it would be impossible to get but managed and me all jealous on him just stared at my lovely BR-03-92 and he complimented it too, told me he loved these unique watches, he was a nice guy and ohhh I wish I could get my hands on that gmt right now but I'm still on that stupid list so I will probably get it in 8 years hahaah

My dealer told me around 5-8yrs for one! At the time, was told 1-3yrs for the Oyster Batman, wish I'd said yes to that and not the Pepsi now.

@Lone Ranger I'm not sure I understand? Who is hoarding watches? I made the decision to pay the grey market price because I wanted this watch now. I fully accept the premium I paid and I received a very good service from the dealer. I wanted a 2019 watch to commemorate the birth of my son this year, to whom I will eventually hand the watch down. I wear mine daily and don't plan on selling it so the price is somewhat irrelevant, if you can afford it. I have no relationship with any Rolex AD. In my opinion, only an idiot would spend £££ buying watches they don't want, just to get an opportunity to buy a GMT at RRP. Waiting several years isn't something I wanted to do, for the reason I gave earlier.

@Lone Ranger You honestly think that grey market dealers sit on stock? They rely on turning over product to make money. The margins they make aren't as big as the margins made by the guys who flip the watches after purchasing at RRP, or by the unscrupulous ADs who sell in bulk through the back door to offload their unpopular units. The grey market dealers make a profit by providing a service, just like any other business. I asked several Rolex ADs about the steel Pepsi when it was launched in 2018. They didn't even know when they were getting stock, let alone able to give me a waiting time. One said 1-2 years after I mentioned buying a different watch in the meantime. With waiting times of several years you must be a clairvoyant to predict when you will receive a watch. I might be impatient, but you sound bitter because you can't get the watch you want now at RRP. Well tough, that's the state of the market at the moment. And even though I paid what I did for a Pepsi, I could sell it for more tomorrow.

@Lone Ranger I don't live in the UK so maybe the supply situation is different here. I'm struggling to understand how you manage to predict when you are going to get a watch and time it with the birth of a child. Seems like you had to order your watches before your child was even conceived? Hmmmm. You must have missed the sarcasm in my original comment. Of course a piece of plastic isn't worth £8k. I mentioned the value of the watch because you seem to be obsessed with how much I paid. My point was that even at £15k it wasn't an irresponsible decision. But really, does it matter? No luxury watch is a justifiable expense (even at RRP) if you really think about it. At one point I had 3 Rolex sports models (14060, 216570 Polar, and 214270) and even though I paid less than RRP for all 3, I actually had more money tied up in Rolex than I do now. I sold all 3, made a decent profit, then decided to buy the watch that I really wanted. You can only wear one watch at once, and the Pepsi does everything the other 3 did and more. Well done on getting your watches at RRP, personally I don't have the time or patience. Wear them in good health!
