Yes please do a pedi without an e-file! I am not a nail tech but, I want to learn for home pedicures 💕
hi guys. i'm a retired manicurist from the 80's and 90's. i learn a lot from your channel, as gels and electric files were not around back then. anna's passion for natural nails reminds me of my own. i find it so healing to work on people. by the way, MSL's feet look superb for a runner. they are so well maintained.
I am a person who wants to do their own nails, because there is no one like you. So, would love to see traditional pedicure. Your the best, Regards, Kelly
The giggle at 0:40 made my day. 😆😁 Let me get back to the remainder of the video.
Omg yes, more pedicure videos please! Would love more scrub testing as well!
My cuticles look and feel amazing, because of you! No longer cutting just my glass pusher and afterwards oil. Thank you so much.
Yes, more pedicure videos. This was relaxing and informational! Where is your salon located….just in case I may (someday) be in the area 🥰

Yes, more pedicure vids please. Would love for you to review more ped products such as scrubs or masks, cream. This part of nail tech education is so lacking. Greatly appreciate this video!
OMGosh! Love❤️LOVE this pedicure video!!! I skipped thru b/c I'm getting ready for work (nail tech) but am definitely going back for ALL the details. PLEASE tell me more about the pedi chair! Hardest part of my job is getting those feet high enough to comfortably work on. Ergonomic safety is hard to balance sometimes. BTW, I do enjoy all your videos & terrific explanations!!!!
My favorite scrub is KBShimmer sugar scrub in the pink sugar scent. So good!
Hi Anna and MSL. I love watching your videos. I m not a nail technician but have always done my husband’s and son’s pedicures. Nowadays it’s only my husband that I spoil with a pedicure and leg massage. I love doing pedicures
You are such a hard worker! Thank you for sharing 🙂🌸
I am currently a student! I am just loving your content!
So Relaxing To Watch.!! 😌
Hii first time here and am in love with your work ❤ I would definitely love to see more Pedi videos 😁blessings
I enjoy watching your channel so much! The educational aspect alone has been well worth my time. Your product reviews are very valuable. I just used your affiliate link to place an order for Dazzle Dry products. Thank you for inspiring me to give it a try!

Not a professional, but got into dazzle dry because of you. And I also Learn everything important about nail care from you.
Have you ever tried the Gehwol Soft Feet Scrub? That's my favorite. It has jojoba wax beads, sugar, and bamboo. The bamboo of course doesn't dissolve, which you may not like. But my process for removal is: wrap each foot in a hot towel, give each foot some gentle squeezes and use the towel to start to release the particles from the skin, and use the same towel to remove as much of the extra scrub as you can. Then I do the same to the other foot which gives the first foot a couple moments to air dry. Then I go in with a clean dry towel to gently wipe off any excess particles. Wiping them off with that dry towel when the skin is not as moist is really helpful, I find!

That is awesome advice! Thank you! I should try that scrub!
In my old salon (SoCal) I did dry pedicures using a recliner set up on a riser. It was a much cheaper option than a throne or your chair. I also used the OPI spa line and wrapped the feet in individual hot towels for a couple minutes after the scrub and it really helped to "melt" the scrub off. As a bonus the heat soothed my older clients with arthritis and/or edema! Now I live in Virginia, which frowns upon e-files touching the natural nail.☹️ I'd love to see your version of a dry pedicure with cuticle softener!
@TheSalonLife
2 жыл бұрын
I have to say the risers freak me out. Heavier people or people with reduced mobility would have hard time with this set up no? I also worry about slipping and sliding on the slippery surface With my set up I tell people to sit on the chair and then kick their shoes off. Way more hygienic and less risky After the pedicure I either put their sandals on for them when their feet are still up or hand them their socks and lower the chair so they can put on their shoes when still sitting in the chair.

@@TheSalonLife I did move the recliner down to the floor for a couple of clients. It wasn't the best situation for sure, just the cheapest for a beginner in a small town. I've had my eye on a similar chair to yours for a couple years... just need to come up with the money first!
I am a nail tech looking to incorporate dry pedis into my services. I love your technique!

Cosmetologist +30yrs. I do manicures and pedicures for hospice patients. I would love to see an elderly client with thick or brittle toe nails. Also, how to identify nail conditions and at what point do you stop the service and recommend a doctor? I also do fiberglass wraps for repairing cracks over the nailbed.

Hello Jaime, I have more info in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gX2CrZmsZ7rPiZc.html Basically my job as a pedicurist is to help the client maintain the health of their feet and correct cosmetic issues. Many people, especially elderly sadly suffer from medical conditions like fungal infections, or very thickened nails, in that case I am not able to help them because that is outside of my scope. I refer them to a podiatrist or a foot care specialist. Hope this helps.
Where can I find someone in my area that does as good a job as you? Many salons in strip malls have people working who don't speak English and want to cut, cut, cut cuticles, and are rather rough.
Hi Anna, I’m a DIY’er and would love you to do a pedicure using cuticle remover. BTW what’s the instrument called that you used to clean the nail side wall? Great content, learning so much. Love from Australia❤️

Hi Lorraine. Thank you so much for the feedback. The tool used for the sidewalls is called a pedicure excavator and we also use a pedicure curved nail rasp. Hope that helps! Thanks! - MSL

Loved watching this to help me drift off to sleep. As always your advice and knowledge teaches me something new, thank you 🤍 One day I would love to have those specialised podiatrist efiles with the added dust extraction on the handpiece 😍 Making these investments in equipment of high quality and that lasts you 10+ years is important. I've had to learn the hard way to be more gentle when performing pedicures (my poor mother letting me practice on her before I touched a client). These videos will pass on essential information that is missing in beauty school. Thank you Anna and MSL!

Hi Erin! 🙌 I’m glad the video was helpful :)
What brand of electrical nail file do you recommend and are using that also can be used for hard skin?
I feel totally relaxed after that massage 😔. I hope MSL did too, he's got nice feet by the way. I'm not a professional so it was nice to see I'm doing the right things when I do my pedicure, even if I'm not quite so precise. Thank you x
What do you prefer in toenails, gel polish or polish? I recently get gel polish on my toenails (I loved the result) but I don't know how healthy it is to do it regularly.
Very nice to hear a calming sound backround while u are massage madam, i'm a new here for ur channel, watching from philippines, am very interesting to watch ur some videos

How often do you have to replace your Vodex filter?
Hello, I am very interested in doing elderly and disability clients, do you have a video showing the tools you use and their uses. I am a reflexology specialist in Australia, thank you.
Hi Anna. Thank you for your channel! I have a question about pedicure. I have onychogryphosis on 7 of my toes. My nails are thickened and ugly looking. Dermatologist said it is not due to fungus but due to tight shoe ware, and it is irreversible. The only thing is to file the nails flat. Is it possible to learn how to file these thickened nails yourself at home? Would really grateful for your input! /Arina

I am interested in a pedicure with cuticle remover. I’m a do-it- myselfer 😊 I think I may have damaged my nails by removing the cuticle to hard. I have ridges showing up in my manicure with DD even though I used the Transform😢
Which bit are you using at 11:30? It appears much smoother than the bits in your links, and I don’t think you mentioned the name of this one.

Hi Lori, it's totally the one from the link. The blue band means medium. The pictures on Erica's site are a little deceiving. It's the Small Tapered Barrel in medium. :) They are excellent bits.

What about cutting senior's toe nails? They are SOOOOO thick. Please advise... Current tactic is cutting after shower (softer). She won't go to podiatrist.
@TheSalonLife

Hi CL. Very often the thickness is due to fungal infection and we can’t work on any nails that unhealthy or seem unhealthy. So I suggest going to podologist or podiatrist. I provide cosmetic treatments for healthy nails/feet only.
Do you have a very bright lamp recommendation that is not a uv lamp? I'm not a nail technician, I just have a hard time seeing. Currently using a battery operated head lamp 😂😂😂!

Ah, I see! That lamp is a regular light or UV. Not both at once :). The slimline lamp I use in my manicure table and the pedicure cart is the best. Very nice and bright and doesn’t create shadows. Are you looking for something wireless?

Do you have clients that are extremely ticklish? I've always wanted to get pedicures but I absolutely can't stand when people touch my feet, I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon when I was having bone issues due to a sports injury and it took all my concentration to hold still. Heck, I can't even touch certain parts of my own feet without mentally steadying myself because I'm that stupidly ticklish, it drives me nuts. Is it awkward if a client declines the massages or other bottom-of-feet activities?
@TheSalonLife
2 жыл бұрын
I think the very ticklish clients just don't come in for pedicures. I have couple people who are a little ticklish but a firm hold usually helps. I don't think it's weird at all for someone to skip the skin buff or massage or anything. In fact I do have some people who skip the massage because they are busy and can't sit still. I don't mind at all and I don't think it's weird. Also like I mentioned, some people don't like scrubs and I would ask if they want it. We all have preferences.
