So glad Butter is doing well!!! I have goldfish too and I put plant weights on my plants to keep them from floating. My fish have a couple they like to dig up too and this helps out a lot.

Butter needs a friend!! When you were adding water to your tank I liked how it looked like Butter had a little pond.

Butter looks so good! I really want a goldfish or any type of fish because they seem so calm and peaceful in the water and when they swim it seems so graceful. These videos will rly help me Happy Birthday as well!

Happy birthday! Lots of people put Pothos in their filters to take out nitrates without seeing all the roots, also you could put some large rocks (like smooth river rock) around the base of the plants to keep Butter from uprooting them, or put them in little terra cotta pots!

You could probably buy a small pond pump to pump water from the tote to the tank. Sheila, from Life With Pets, uses a pump to do all of her water changes. Its at least worth a try!

You should buy anubias plants, which you can glue/tie to fake decor or drift wood. They are hardy and sturdy plants that grow slowly. You can make amazing or simple aquascapes with them. Love your goldfish by the way!

Thank you for showing how to clean a fish tank

Is 10g okay for ONE fancy goldfish? I have had goldfish in the past, however I had to rehome them as I didn’t research stocking etc... I really miss my goldfish, the shop I gave my fish to, to care for, still has one of the fish and said I could have it, if I wanted. I instantly did more research. Then I came here. I’ve seen videos of goldfish in 10g. I will be able to upgrade its tank in the future, if it gets too big. Thanks. Great video btw 👍

Happyglitter 238 One goldfish needs a 20gallon tank minimum, for every extra goldfish add another 10 gallons. Lori even has said this is a temporary tank for Butters and that she’ll be getting an upgrade. I have two fancy telescope goldfish currently in a 40gal but they’ll be getting upgraded to a 75gal here soon. Goldfish are such calming pets but be prepared for lots of tank maintenance in the long run! Good luck❤️

Get a water pump and extra tubing and it’ll pump the water back in your tank. I do that! Fill your bucket, put the pump in there, tubing in tank and turn it on and it’ll start pumping in there! So easy

You could buy a pond pump and 3/8 tubing to put your aged water into your tank. It's cheap and easy to use.

Heyy when doing water changes to my goldfish is it necessary to match the new water’s ph to the one in the tank or do I just match the temperature, add water conditioner to the new water and I’m good to go? If I need to match the ph how would I do so??

All you have to use is a little submergible pond/ fountain pump... with a long hose attached to it and you can pump the water right up to your aquarium.👍

I boil my broccoli-soften it.--- Boil some cabbage but it is stinky! I skin cooked corn skin cooked peas they love it

Broccoli and cabbage cooked are great for tad poles as well

You could put some rocks around the plant to keep it held down and so that she can’t rip up the roots

The tank water is smelling because of bacteria build up... you need to do small water changes up to 20% per day until the smell goes, when the water is healthy there should be no noticeable smell... and get a proper filter with enough filter media to cycle the tank. Google how to cycle a tank. Never change all the water in one go, it causes stress to your fish and creates a chemical imbalance in the tank.

Place a plate or Tupperware bowl in there, pour your water in that. Won't misplace your sand. Glue your plants to a peace of drift wood. The fish can munch, but can not move. Looks better also.

What about AquaCare products? Is it safe to keep a goldfish in when using these products?

You don`t put anything in the tank to treat nitrates.. cycle the tank properly and clean when needed and nitrates won`t be a problem.

I used to keep 30 gal trash cans to save and age water

@@LorisHartland I didn't realize you could put a siphon directly into sand. Did it not pull sand into your siphon tube? I have a Python siphon which attaches to my sink, and I thought it might pull sand into the sink and mess up the plumbing. I currently have gravel but have thought about switching to sand. Thanks!

Most goldfish prefer NO gravel because they valued possibly swallow it and it could be really bad
