How i choose my frame? (pascal briand vlog 53)

Here are few information to consider before choosing the right frame for you...
the size of the frame is a key point...even if 125mm are used only for marathon, as i never change my frame back to 4X110mm i prefer a 12"6 12"4 to keep a playfull skate that let me enjoy some sharper turn.... longer frame are harder to use in turn even if they provide more stability and easier feeling for the push.
The shape of upper part is important to me to control my skate...too narrow make it crazy hard to control the edge to edge and too wide make it too slow...triple XXX powerslide are great ratio and takino frame too ... all depend how you can control your edge...
stiffness is at his best with 70XX aluminium and give you the best push... compare to a 60XX aluminium that is nice to skate if you look only for confort in ultra long distance. Stifness also come from the number of bridge in the frame...how many bridge can you count in your frame? only Cadomotus don't need bridge cause of dual box that give really stiff frame (too stiff for me^^)
carbon is the new trend... Eo skates make it at his best ...
never forget about alst tip at the end of the video...Axle fit only to the same brand

Merci. Sportivement.

    Hi Andreas, i think it's great idea....big wheels and high speed will bring the Equipment to a research of more stability...i think Trinity go in this direction (i suppose , i never test them) ... but theoricaly , i would say the insert and frame is wide so it should be very stable.... may be the edge to edge will become a bit slow...may be.... put i think the quality of the push is probably also increased... the weak point is may be the range of motion for the setting of the frame...but also for big wheels its less difficult... i hope i can test some very soon...

    Do you have any videos or advice for a 4x110 frame? I'm finally getting some custom skates and I can't find any good info anywhere. I'm 6'1". What size frame do you recommend especially if I'm learning double push? What's the shortest frame they make for a 4x110 - 13.0"? Thanks.

    Knockout Artist almost all 4x110 are the same size 13.25 or 13.3 so it’s not difference. My favorite is the xxx from powerslide. Eoskates do good in carbon also and rb have a nice design and specs also even if done in 6000 aluminium.

    Would foot size vs frame length be a consideration too?

  • @ThePascalbriand

    @ThePascalbriand

    7 жыл бұрын

    exactly Edward, foot size need to be considered as the height of the skater also. The taller you are the easier its gonna be to cross with long frame compare to a shorter person... Footsize help to i think but less than being tall... big foot make it easier to find the grip and the pressure i think... anyway, even if you have big foot but your high is lets say 165cm...is gonna be ahrder to cross with a 13"2 than with a 12"6... and the difference is big...

    Hi, Would it be better for an indoor skater of short height with small feet to have a shorter frame? I'm 157 cm with a boot size US 4 or Euro 36. And I'm an adult so I'm not growing anymore. I'm on 12.8 length with a 4x100 set up and am having trouble with maneuverability. I appreciate any feedback :)

  • @ThePascalbriand

    @ThePascalbriand

    5 жыл бұрын

    Holly Grubbs hi... normally is quite the standard of maneuverability... but of course shorter frame will in this. But for indoor you will loose stability I think cause you probably go at quite good speed. I know adult skater from your size and sad foot size who skate on 12 »8 still. It require extra effort to control them. 12’4 can help and bring you more speed leg with still a 12’4 frame... it would be good only if you can’t progress anymore also in power I think. If you think you can still improve your power I suggest you keep 12’8 and work hard on your mouvement quality around the hip to get enought space to make those 12’8 go good.

    Thales Ferreira really depend of carbon frame. I mainly trust only eo for’carbon frame so far ... they can make different stiffness with make it similar to any stiff 7000 aluminum (stiffness of Ali frame depend also of number and size of bridge inside the frame (except cadomotus which is different system))
