How I Built the ULTIMATE 8K/12K Video Editing PC!

Фильм және анимация

Hey guys!
After five years, finally have decided to upgrade my PC, but wanted to create an absolute workhorse for my workflow and be able to handle 8K and 12K video editing, NO LIMITS!
Enjoy :)
Would recommend a 1000W PSU for gaming on the RTX 3090, however, 850W is fine for video editing. Also, by sourcing my parts for the best price possible, I was able to build my new rig for around $3300! Really great price to performance!

Very good video, I have an Ursa12k and Resolve and would also like to use a matching PC. Would you continue to buy the equipment shown in the video or would you buy something else in mid-2024 - and if so, what would you buy instead? And does 12k in Resolve work well for you? Fusion too?

Thanks for this video. Eye-opening. I am looking to build one for Wedding video editing and a bit of music production. I think the i5 12600k is a pretty solid budget option. Torn between that and the AMD R7 5700x. The GPU though...

Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback! Mine can definitely be quite a bit overkill for those who aren't working with high-intensive codecs or resolutions like 8K or 12K. The 12600K is definitely a great option for both budget and performance (just recommended it to a friend of mine recently and is absolutely loving it!), and if you are working with cameras that capture 10 bit video with chroma subsampling of 4:2:0 or 4:2:2, its my go to option to stick to Intel rather than AMD since it can natively decode/encode those files seamlessly. GPU market is all over the place at the moment and most options are great, been planning on testing and reviewing the new ARC GPUs by Intel soon since they seem great between price to performance and curious to know how they are for creators!

@@AnishRajah I appreciate the advice. 12600k it is then. As for GPU I might start with a 2070 or 3060. But will definitely be on the lookout for the arc gpu video. I expect good optimization. Notifications on🤳

Happy to find your channel, this is exactly I’m looking for my camera R5 and Mavic 3 footage post processing , Question:what kind 4K/8k monitor you will recommending? Thank You .

Thank you so much for checking out the video and my channel! Definitely won't be needing an upgrade anytime soon with this haha. As for a monitor, if you're strictly doing video/color work, I'd go with ASUS ProArt line with its 10 Bit panel and color-accurate display (PA32UCX if you have the budget and planning on doing HDR work), however, if you want a nice hybrid monitor with both color accuracy and high refresh rate/4K, then I would go with the LG 27GN950 (my current monitor). Most 8K monitors available aren't really worth it in my opinion and won't make much of a significant difference in work, easily would recommend a monitor with more colors/ higher bitrate rather than resolution.

Hi, could you provide the source of the 10bit 4:2:2 processors? I have been looking closely at the new AMD release, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000 WX-Series but nothing mentioning the 10bit 4:2:2

Hi, absolutely love your question! As I mentioned in the video, so far any Intel 11th Gen processor or higher with Iris Xe Graphics or UHD Graphics, and Apple's Silicon with their M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, and now with M1 Ultra are currently the only processors that can natively support 10 Bit 4:2:2 without having to strain and utilize the processor as much as hardware from places like AMD or NVIDIA which is why it's important to see what hardware supports your personal workflow instead of looking for the most spec'd up version that may not be useful for your needs. For something like the processor you mentioned, it maybe able to playback 10 Bit 4:2:2 without much or no buffering, but will definitely utilize the processor much more compared to the others. For further info, I leave some links to Puget Systems articles on which hardware supports what codecs in certain editing programs which do extensive tests on various hardware to see what works best for your needs. This pc is a premium build and miles away from anything called budget. If it cannot render 8k or 12k it would be a dud and a total flop for what it's worth. Overkill and cost is not affordable for alot of people
