    @@1pac882 yes, I am very happy with it, for the price. I came from the GTX1070, and the RTX3060 is maybe 25-50% faster. Depending on the game. I chose the 3060 because of the 12gb vram, as I saw the 1070's 8gb being almost 100% utilised in some games. So only the 3060 gave me more than 8gb, other than 3080's and up. Didn't wanna pay that much for just a gpu. So the 3060 12gb gave me a nice bump in performance, and I got RT and DLSS. And yes, I did get the most overkill version of the 3060; MSI Gaming Z with 3 fans. But, price was ok, its huge and overclocks like crazy, cool and quiet. So, yes am very happy with it, both for gaming and Davinci Resolve. Seems well utilised, and does most of the work compared to the cpu. Got the 10600k, a 6 core 12 thread cpu like your Ryzen 3600.

    VRAM does become important if you're using Resolve. Once you start using things like temporal noise reduction or optical flow on UHD timelines and greater then it's quite easy to chew up more than 8GB of VRAM. For this reason I opted for a 3060 over a 3060Ti and am glad I did because most of my own projects end up using 9GB+ of VRAM.

    BIG REQUEST. How about a “Price Point” workstation video? What I mean is maybe show a few good builds for creators/gamers within specific price points, $1,000, $1,500, $2,000 (what I’m hoping for) and up. I think this would be a popular video for newcomers. (basically I’m looking for something under $3,000, closer to $2,000 to use for Blender, Unreal Arch Viz, etc. and I’m sure a ton of other people are too)

    I have been editing in FHD for years and years on 16 Ram and 2 and then 4 VRam and that has been more than enough but lately I switched my camera and jumped to 4k and I have been having 3-4 crashes a day the ram and VRam are totally used all the time and I turned on page file on 3 of my drives. I also edit photos on lightroom and everybody says you don't need more ram for photo. But the last upgrades on mask work flow invites you to do a lot of masks and that has been very heavy on both rams. Maybe it is time to rethink what photo workflow needs

My main usage is going to be editing 4k Sony a7siii video. I plan on using the gyro stabilization which currently says I don't have enough GPU to use. I'll be using Resolve with lots of color correcting etc... I was thinking budget was 2k before watching videos. Was considering uping i5 -> i7 and possibly spending a little more on the gpu. Would using your 1500build + a few upgrades work? Or would those changes suggest other modifications as well? Thanks again for all the helpful vids

I recently picked up a MSI 3060 Ventus, but after watching your video I had the chance to pick up a EVGA XC Gaming 3060 ti for a good price, so I did. Will return the 3060. I'm headed into uncharted territory, but my workstation will have a 5900x, 64GB of RAM, 3060ti, 2TB Nvme (gen4). Plan to use the new Fedora 36 and both Kdenlive and Davinci Resolve. Thanks TN - Dec 2022, getting ready to build a system and I see 3080's seem scarce and higher in price. If I am looking at a 13th i9 system; half of my $2400 build is chewed up by a 3080. For the diff of a 3060Ti, I can add a 2nd m.2 and double my RAM. I edit in 4k and 1080; but I want something beefy enough that I could edit in a higher res (like w green screen) and my system not catch on fire. Any thoughts or clarity would be awesome; thank you for your content.

  • @limitlesswave
    @limitlesswave2 жыл бұрын

    Excellent video for the non-professional creator. It's worth noting that the 3060 and 3060ti are in fact more different than their simple numbering suggests. The 3060 uses the 106 SKU whilst the 3060ti uses the faster 104 SKU which is the same as in the higher 3070 series, making it more like a downgraded 3070 rather than an upgraded 3060. This also allows the 3060ti to run at a faster memory bus speed (256 bit) whilst the 3060 is only (192-bit)... hence the reason why the 8GB 3060ti outperforms the 12GB 3060. Thanks Nvidia for making things so confusing! Update I've seen various comments that Davinci Resolve would run better on the 3060 because it it able to utilise more VRAM than the 3060ti. This of course is true, but only if the project needs that extra V-RAM. Also, in order to get the best out of Davinci, you need the full Studio version as the Free version has some behind the scenes limitations with how it limits the graphics acceleration. I assume that all the testing done here by Tech Notice is done using the Studio version and this would of course explain why it performs so well compared to PremierPro.

The only major differences you need to look out for is. 1 Cost, 2 how many fans, 3 Is it water cooled, or air cooled. 4 How many PCIE slots do you need to reserve at the back of your rig (Make sure it fits). 5 What's more important to you, MAX POWER, or Smallest size/Quietness. Otherwise a 4080 is a 4080 no matter who you buy from.

    would you consider buying the RTX A series if you will use your machine solely for 3d rendering and video editing? I am currently building my machine. But I can't decide whether to go for RTX 3080 Ti and RTX A4000. Since they are almost of the same price. At least locally.

    Great video as always! I’m building my pc for video editing but I’m still undecided for which GPU I should go, i edit in davinci resolve and also after effects with projects with a lot of graphics, transitions, 3D elements etc… but I don’t if I should buy the 3060 12 gb or the 3060 Ti 8gb because 3060ti have more CUdA cores , it’s faster, it’s 256 bits but 3060 vram where the software can use…if someone can help me out it would be appreciated

    Can anyone answer me this. I been looking for this answer for a long time. I have a core i5 6600 k cpu which is working fine. But my gpu is GTX 970 which is pretty old card now. I am looking to buy a new graphic card just for 3d rendering from Blender and not going to hugely play games with it. So the Blender software is going to use 100 percent my GPU only? and there wont be any bottle neck. or is there going to be bottle necking even for 3d modeling ? i am planning to get a rtx 3060 ti

    I don’t necessarily agree with some of the wording in the video to much, but a great video none the less, also something to add to that is the size of the cards in relation to the viewers case or motherboard, I recently bought a 3080ti only to find out it was a tad to thick, hitting my mobo power connector so I couldn’t use it even though it fit in the case.

    Thanks for such great videos. Subbed your channel and thanks for telling your recommendation that you trust all the time. I am going to opt in for Gigabyte RTX 3080 Vision OC. It's pretty silver-ish with pink line and the overall eye catchy vision design. I really love the card. What confused me is MSI SUPRIM RTX 3080 being 168990 rupees and Vision OC being 156999 rupees. Both dropped prices now, both are not costing 200k or 300k rupees like they used to be before, crypto recently faced a terrible crash, and both are now very affordable. Just what RTX 2080 Ti's normal price was 100k something rupees or at least 90k. So, I am very glad that price dropped more than 100k or 200k rupees but as both are great, both are very much affordable and doing offline purchase can cost even less price. So which RTX 3080 should I choose? MSI SUPRIM or Gigabyte Vision OC?

    i am a creator who was waiting for the prices to go down but as they went down, i am hearing that next generation gpus will hit the market. Should i wait for them or should i buy the gpu now because i dont want to upgrade my build for a vey long time. And also, does faster m.2 translate to more video editing performance because i have a gen3 ssd. P.s. i resent this message because I want your opinion.

I'm always worked on Green, but now i need to use hackintosh and he work just with Red. Wil be vary interesting to see how much NV faster in editing, exporting in adobe then AMD. Thank you.

    Very good video and really appreciate it. It really help me a lot BUT these are really expensive If I have to upgrade then it not only the GPU but my CPU, Motherboard and RAM as well else it will limit the potential of the GPU. Buses, Standard, hardware compliances really sucks! Nowadays if you change something, you probably have to change the whole system. Ok, enough complaining and really thanks for the guidance. I think I will stick with my system till it die.

    Hey Guys, I need some help here... I'm in need of a graphics card, my 2060 super's VRAM is faulty, keeps on giving me both vram relatted bluescreens, and problems using After Effects. I have a ryzen 9 3900x, and x570 Auros Elite, 64gb of ram and use it mostly for compositing, motion design, 2D animation, both frame by frame and after effects. I'm starting to feel the weight of 2,5D compositions using 2k/4K assets. I'm kinda divided betweem the 3080 10gb, 12gb or going 3070. Does anybody have similar workflows that can give me an hint?
