I know nothing about hot tubs, but that seems like THE occasion to replace the filter cartriges instead of washing them, if ever there was one. that dirty water sat in there for ten years.

I’m not sure if this is 100% true, but from the original video on his channel about this (which I’d recommend it’s rlly satisfying) he said that if it was up to him he’d get a new one but the client said just clean it, not sure tho

I dealt with hot tubs for a living. That filter HAS to be replaced. If the customer says just clean it, talk him out of it. Just say, even if I clean it's not going to filter much and your hot tub will get cloudy and nasty rather quickly. A cleaning like this is already expensive, and those filters are about $30 on Amazon.

I think that hot tub don't stay clean for much longer. Lazy client, who just don't care. Keeping old filters, keep nasty water for 10 years, etc.

This homeowner was probably responsible for any airborne disease and mosquitoes in his neighborhood. After 2 years of not using it, why not drain it? 🤦🏾‍♀️

Unless of course this is a rental or they could have recently bought the home and acquired the tub from a previous owner. Which would make sense considering the previous owner wouldn't have cared suddenly to repair this tub.

There can be more problems sometimes with having it empty, as things can nest in there. Can also accumulate rain water and cause similar issues if you don't keep pumping it out

To be honest, both pools and hot tubs are not worth it unless you have enough money to have someone constantly doing maintenance work for you. They are too much hassle for too little enjoyment.

You can clean them yourself, I test Chemical levels, clean my often. Change cartridge filter often. You don’t need to be rich to maintain one. Just need to be rich to run it, my eats electricity. I have a Solar panel/battery set up just to run it.

Not true for use we use it are hot tub every day for 1 hour and it clean all we do is clean filter 2 times a year and test chemical levels every other week and replace water every time it get bad every month

you can maintain your pool and hot tub yourself for only the cost of chemicals. Been doing this myself for about 4 years. only cost me about $100 to $150 a year for both.

Glad to see theres still someone out there who checks pH and chemical balance. Most people and companies just clean and chlorinate the pools and say "give it 24 hours, it'll be safe to swim".

If your spa service tech isn’t adjusting your water chemistry then you don’t need him - just fire him and get somebody who does it right. It’s not complicated and there’s plenty of competent techs out there. Or watch a few videos and do the maintenance yourself - once you learn it’s quick and fun

It may have been there when he bought the place, or he bought it and used it for a while, then stopped using it because he got busy, and then didn't feel like putting forth the effort to clean it.

It's 1 at night and I'm watching slugs go inside a vaccum cleaner , I'm perfectly alright 👍🏾

My family owns a hot tub and we clean it every year to try and take great care of it. We even drain it in the winter when we don't use it. It's shocking to me that someone wouldn't take great care of something so expensive and not use it for 10 years. If you own something you once wanted, make sure to remember to enjoy it.

Amazing how well the color in the acrylic walls held up over time. Great job!!!

Pool cleaning was the best summer job ever! I worked in the Torrance, Palos Verdes area in Los Angeles. We knew all the great lunch spots, and sometimes the house wife's were sunbathing. I was a young lad in my early 20s. What a fun job.

There's outdoor hot tubs off varying Vertical and Horizontal medium or large or huge sizes.. And also outdoor hot tubs can be pricey or expensive to annually daily regularly maintain And can accommodate between 2 people to 5 people or 6 people.. Depending on what the customer ordered how big it is..... Then there's indoor hot tub bath which is cheap enough to buy and easy enough to clean and rinse...
