How Has the Highest Mileage Nissan GT-R Held up After 140k Miles?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Regular cars crest 100k miles all the time, it's not even a big deal. But how often do supercars surpass 100k miles? This GT-R is the highest mileage example of an R35 that I've ever seen, by far. On this episode of EatSleepDrive, we see just how well Godzilla is wearing after driving more than half way between the earth and the moon.

Very well done! Would love to see a follow up video where the GTR is put on a Dyno to see how the power has held up over time and many miles. I know there's probably not a baseline of that exact car when new, but it'd still be fun to compare against those Dynos from over a decade ago. I'm considering a secondhand GTR so I would definitely tune in!

I got in a 2009 for the first time a couple weeks ago and was shocked at the sad condition of the interior in that one as well. I think people are probably rough on them, but the early years have a noticably cheaper feeling interior than my 13. Many of the switches and trim pieces are different. I think they improved it yet again in 17.

Thank you so much for keeping it real man. What a lot of first time buyers fail to recognize is that the Nissan GT-R costs supercar money for a reason. A lower-end supercar price tag with supercar performance has supercar repair/maintenance costs. $20,000 transmission swaps. 500+ horsepower. This isn’t your 300 hp Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subaru Impreza WRX STi, or Honda Civic Type R with economy car roots and repair bills. You want the ability to hunt down or keep up with BMW M5’s, Merc AMG’s, and Porsche 911’s on the track/highway? Then you gotta pay the troll toll.

I mean theres a video of an evo 9 keeping up and even beating a lambo at the track with millions of views.

No offense meant here, but I think you're totally off base claiming that the Nissan shines through because of its age. Maybe compared to a Toyota or Honda, but not compared to supercar brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini or McLaren. Have you seen the kind of nonsense that happens on those after just 40k miles? I can gaurentee they would look much worse at 140k miles with the same level of maintenance done

I own a 1993 Nissan Patrol, probably don’t get them in the states. Has over 300k miles on the clock. Original engine (TD42 diesel), never opened. Original paint, no rust or fade. Original trim, apart from the drivers seat (original) starting to get uncomfortable in the foam department, it all still works with no creaks or anything. Car still takes me everywhere I want to go. Don’t underestimate Nissan.

Can someone please explain why in the U.S. do they have 'Stop' signs in the middle of nowhere? I remember in Utah driving with my aunt, and it was flat and you could see nothing for miles. Yet in the middle of nowhere there was this 'Stop' sign, and my aunt would always dutifully stop. Flat road, see for miles, nothing around, no houses or anything, just flat fields, middle of nowhere ... Stop sign.

I feel as if the GTR being a "supercar" is kinda odd the r31-34 where upgraded versions of their sedan counterparts but I suppose the 35 was a development on its own this time around but it's funny how we don't expect these cars to last to 140k without major problems... I could understand with cars like the LFA or something but a GTR.. should be reliable.

It’s funny how you keep referencing “Nissan” on a lot of these defects, in the paint and trims. Pretty hard to determine its “Nissan’s” (inferior?) product. How was the car looked after? Driven in snow, rain, over gravel? Was it washed regularly? polished? Serviced properly? What do they do for a job? A mechanic getting in his daily driver with corrosive materials on their hands would cause early wear. Smoker? Eat a lot of greasy fast food? So many variables. I also dont know too many daily driven Supercars. I think it looks pretty good to be honest. No car is bulletproof. It’s also a third of the price of a Lamborghini with similar performance. A lot of speculation. I have a Nissan, nearly 8 years old, pretty high km’s, daily driver and I don’t have any of this wear and tear.
