It's a global giant: the world's 7th largest energy consumer, 2nd largest biofuel producer and 8th largest oil producer, Brazil also has one of the greenest electricity mixes on the planet: over 80% of its electricity already comes from renewable sources, including hydropower, sugarcane, wind and solar power. 70% of Brazilian cars can run on 100% ethanol!
Thus, in Brazil, it's not fossil fuel combustion that generates the most carbon emissions, but... deforestation!
