How Great Thou Art - Tribute 4 Audrey
Ойын-сауық
It's been a year to the day that I lost my beautiful second mom, Audrey Phillips, to cancer. This video is not only a tribute to honor her legacy, but to also uplift anyone facing a similar situation.
Love you, Audrey, miss you so much...

Not one Maori can hold back tears when this song is being sung. We automatically get taken back to our past loved ones being carried out in a casket. 😭

no Maori, and no such cultural conotations for me, but this singing touches some common human string in me too...something like gospel. Not many europeans would sing like this anyway...

When Christ shall come, With shouts of acclamation, And take me home, What joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow In humble adoration And there proclaim, "My God, how great Thou art!" … Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art! How great Thou art! Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
Not gonna lie, I've probably contributed around a thousand of the views. Amazing tribute from a beautiful whanau!

ummmm. when you guys sang this song, and made this video, i don't think you knew the impact it would make on some of the people who watched it. your rendition/version of this song is so beautiful...from the family aspect, to the voices, to the harmonization, to the inflection...that it can easily bring tears to one's eyes. it really was a gift hearing/experiencing this video. ) =)

My dearest Uncle just passed yesterday. I'm here listening to this as due to Covid I can't be in New Zealand for his tangi (funeral). This will be sung first in Maori and then English as he is laid to rest, no doubt. Rest easy my sweet Uncle xxxx
Is it just me or is it that everyone in New Zealand and Australia knows how to sing period?

This was sung at my father in laws funeral too. Growing up as a kid in church there was always something about this song that made me listen. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end like no hillsong EVER will.
Such a beautiful rendition of that beautiful hymn "How great thou Art " ! How I love my Savior My daddy got his Angel wings in Heaven !! after a long battle with Prostrate Cancer !! He served his Lord and Saviour all his life !! and such a wonderful reception He must have felt when he finally met His Heavenly Father Jesus and his mammy who died when he was 10 yrs old I loved my daddy more that any descriptive word I could write on this page He was my everything I cried so hard when he died !! I was so broken He was my everything !! He heard my cry and came back from another 20 mins ! Then went to be with his Lord and Saviour I can’t wait to see him again also my mummy who is now dementia free !! God will keep them safe till I see them all again ! Thanks so much for this beautiful rendition of "How great thou Art " ! I will play it many times Hugs many Hugs I send to you all from N.ireland
Hearing this song growing up at the marae, during the funerals and hearing the nannies wail. Ahhhh brings tears to my eyes and ache in my heart every time I hear this song

My grandmother was fighting breast cancer and she eventually won. Years down the line the fight came back and it was so ugggghh.... it was so much pain for her. Her might was still oh so strong. The night of her passing she called to me but I had told her I had things to do. I went to sleep and all I could hear is my mother calling out for my grandmother. All she wanted was a hug from me. Uggggh ma I love and miss you... your home now and I couldn’t be more happy for you Aulelei. I’ll see you when I see you ma!💙 stay strong to all those in the war against cancer. We aren’t promised tomorrow, but we are promised Heavenly Fathers love. Aloha and Alofa to all💕🤙🏽
Anyone here November 2019? 😁
Beautiful, beautiful beautiful both my mother and father lost to cancer, and this my favourite hymn too. We sang this for them. Love from UK.

Ah i came here from England in 1986 to have a look around and this video highlights precisely why i never left! Moved to tears at the beauty and emotion of this sound that is uniquely honest, uniquely Aotearoa and as fine a piece of gospel as anything worldwide! So sorry you lost Audrey but so thankful and joyful to hear this..
Rest in Power, Audrey Phillips. Stunningly beautiful performance. Mahalo and blessings from Kauai.
Wow! I'm crying again. It's been a while since Audrey passed but this video still reduces me to sobbing and tears every time I see it. It is so beautiful and emotional. One, because of the powerful singing by some extremely gifted and talented people and two, because I knew Audrey and her family well back in the day in Christchurch, and that photo of her at the end of the video overwhelms me with emotion. Audrey played basketball for Minties and I played for a different club, Halswell and we struck up a friendship on and off the court. I have photos of her and her whanau. Audrey was a beautiful wahine and is still remembered with love by the basketball community in Christchurch. RIP Audrey.
Anointed!! I felt God's spirit all around while hearing this song!! God Bless all of you!
Naaw, love you Audrey. You're gone, but never forgotten. Only time separates as we continue to run the race here on earth xx
Girl in the black dress killed it at the end! WOW! So beautiful!!

Beautiful, all of you.
Nothing is more beautiful then listening to a song sung in Maori. Literally! Use definitely took us to church and back. Tino Ataahua. Perfect!
The guy with the hat behind the guy with the guitar I LOOOOOOVE HIS VOICE
This is both of my grandmothers' favorite song...one past away last year, and her funeral was on my birthday which is tomorrow...the other had an exploritory surgery done on her brain roughly 10 years ago now....they gave her limited time, and its been almost 10 years. When i lose her, ill lose everything. That woman is my life but it caused her to have a stroke and be full paralyzed on the right side..her speech is still only MAYBE 10% of what it was. I left church several years ago because i gave up on a LOT. I was angry. I was hurt. I was devastated. Id lost my best friend..the woman who raised me for a huge chunk of my childhood. Thank you for letting me be able to breathe through the rough time of always having the thought of the possibility that i could wake up one day to her being called home. Very much so needed. Love you all..god bless
OMG, are the singers listed??? Btw its a blessing to see Poly talent praising God and uplifting those in similar situations. MUCH love your way!!!

My 1.6 millionth time watching. So blessed 🙏 RIL Audrey ♥️
This video means so much to me. Just a month ago, my family received some heartbreaking news that my mom has Neuroendocrine cancer and that it is in a Terminal stage. She was told that she should get her affairs in order and that in their professional medical opinion she has 3 to 6 months. 2 of the Docs said afterward, that despite their medical opinion , God is the Only one who can make that decision and that we must not waver in our faith in Him. Such a blessing to have docs that believe that and encourage us to have faith. This just hit my heart in such a beautiful way. I felt the spirit very strongly.
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. What an amazing tribute. E aloha no e na hoa Polynesia.
They all sung very beautifully but Stan Walker just seems to be on another level! Well done to you all. My condolences!
