@@cOnT3ST The point of The Shield music and gear was because Seth knows deep down Roman never got over "the original sin" of Seth stabbing Roman in the back in 2014. In Roman's most pivotal moment, he has two choices, look to the future and hit Cody and solidify his legacy, or look to the past and get revenge on his former "brother". He chose revenge and it cost him everything. It was also Seth keeping his promise to Cody when he told Cody "There's only one man uniquely built to be your shield", at that moment, he was Cody's shield. Peak storytelling.

Seth is my low-key MVP of Mania 40. Two banger matches plus providing a PIVOTAL story-beat in the night 2 main event. His character got absolutely nuked but he took it in stride for the greater good. and he knew he was the only one who could cost roman everything by making the choice to finish cody or get revenge. it's brilliant storytelling
Wrestlemania 40 felt like a movie The culmination of a story arc that has been building for years and years. Cody finished his story. Roman couldn't let go of something that happened to him 10 years ago. He finally got his revenge on seth rollins for the shield betrayal and he has nothing to show for it now Seth rollins was the mvp of wrestlemania. He was the workhorse world champion wwe needed with roman not being there every week. He promised to be Cody's shield, he knew Roman's weakness & that was he couldn't let go of the shield. He used it against him and it worked. Roman took his eyes of cody when he had to pick if he should hit him or seth with the chair. Seth helped cody get his moment but it came at a cost. He lost the tag match, lost his title but roman lost his title so it was all worth it Seth rollins was the iron man to Cody's captain America. Overall I say night 2 was better than night 1. Night 1 was solid but night 2 felt more like wrestlemania

100% correct mate, all along he was willing to do what it takes to dethrone Roman, even though it wasn't him the one to do it personally, and even at the cost of his own championship. He said to Cody "I will be your shield." He was and he played the part beautifully. I want him and Roman to go and rest up because they both deserve it. Roman man, what a guy, carried WWE on his back too all this time along with Seth and now all that pressure is off his shoulders, he was seen smiling when the ref counted 3, I think he was so relieved to finally be done with being THE GUY. Also you were right story wise, he couldn't let go of his past.

40 years of WrestleMania... And my God what a way to celebrate the 40th anniversary. If last year we were all left heartbroken, this year we're left heartwarmed. Night 1 wasn't too bad, it did have its not so good moments, but, if there's one thing WMXL has taught us: Night 1 was the Infinity War.. Night 2 was The Endgame. From Priest becoming World Heavyweight Champ to Cody finishing the story, and everything in-between... Wow. It's all I can say. All of this time, I called it a Make or Break, and this was definitely the Make. Paul, "Triple H", Levesque", we all thank you... I'm 47 years old.. Combat veteran, father and grandfather... I run my own construction company.. I'm a man through and through... But when Undertakers music hit.. I was jumping up and down shaking my hands like a little kid.. This Wrestlemania Main Event was an absolute masterpiece 😅😅
started watching WWE around 2009, my first Wrestlemania was WM 25 and I have to say, in my time of being a WWE fan, this was the best Wrestlemania. Pure entertainment.
I started watching wrestling in 2015, World Wrestling Entertainment was the first promotion I began with through television. Have watched a lot of classics in retrospect but Reigns vs. Rhodes is one of the greatest WWE matches I have witnessed since I started, i.e., 2015. There might be few or perhaps no other battle I could think of that was delivered on such a plethora of emotions where I was this invested and it just delivered with an insane aura of in-ring mayhem mixed with a highly enthusiastic dynamic, show of heart and grit, villainry of opposition, moments, chills, stars, and storytelling excellence at its total mastery, connecting all the dots of the narrative the promotion was trying to build of a freakishly long-term prospect. Along with a mesmerizing crowd ovation, noise, and excitement. Not to forget one of the most heartwarming celebratory moments in wrestling I was a part of. Furthermore, at the biggest stage, state, and stakes possible. Outside WWE there is only one match I could say which was close to this emotional rollercoaster, investment, and satisfying outcome. When Kenny Omega humbled the longest reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada after 720 days in the main event at NJPW Dominion 6.9 In Osaka-Jo Hall 2018. But even that match I did not watch it live. Hence Reigns's 1316-day reign ending with this type of match etches to be a very special moment for me. Without a doubt, one of, if not, the greatest WrestleMania main events of all time. The most "WWE" classic vibe ever. Overbooked? Yes, and it was beautifully done. Perfection of professional wrestling.
Love that Lil' Naitch was the ref of Roman vs. Cody II and he didn't take a bump, Charles Robinson finished his story!
1:20 You impersonating Triple h always gets me. 😂
WrestleMania XL was a pure movie from beginning to end. From losing to Night 1, to the insane overbooked chaos of Night 2, this was truly a spectacle and I loved it. While not every match was great, a lot of them were fantastic, and I’m just happy Cody finally finished the story. Thank you HHH.🙏❤️

You don't need every match to be a banger, night 1 had 3 matches that for different reasons were crap. But the opening 2 and closing 2 made it a solid night. Night 2 smashed it out of the park.

Cody hâd no story tho. His story was "duuuuuh I want a title title to make daddy happy duuuuuuuh". Tell me the story of cody
First Wrestlemania I’ve watched live in a loooong time. So glad I did. Both nights were so good. This really is a pro wrestling renaissance!
Seth’s character arc is my favorite in history. 10 years ago he broke up the shield and betrayed his friends to win a title 10 years later he lost a championship to order to protect his friend from the monster he created and take that monster down. It took 10 years but Seth finally achieved something more important then a title he finally achieved his redemption
This was my first Wrestlemania in about 10 years. I spent a few days leading up getting caught up in the story lines and I felt confident in my knowledge going in. I had no idea about some of what I saw, but it gave me such a joy to watch I'll never forget.
I keep seeing people say that the Sami Gunther match was bad. For me, it was the definition of WWE, the storytelling, the character development was all brilliant. It's matches like that that make me love wrestling.
Sami Got his moment McIntyre got his moment Truth' got his Moment Money in the Bank felt Relevant once again Cody finished the story in a classic star studded War Hence, in my opinion, by far the Greatest Mania.♥️
This was just one of those nights that are just impossible to explain to someone that doesn’t understand the wrestling world. But to those that are in on it… what a night. Truly one for the books
Getting my daughter into wrestling a couple years ago was the best decision I ever made. She's obsessed. She watches interviews, tik toks, the slammies, NXT, the main roster shows. She drew pictures of each person's logo before their matches to hand out to my friends and I. She was jumping around the living room as each match got crazier. I admit to having become a bit of a negative mark online over the years, but her enthusiasm takes me back to cheering for my favorites during the ruthless aggression era back in middle school

Seth is absolutely the unsung hero of the whole saga. I am sad he had to suffer so much lost in the past weekend but at the end of the day he earned the respect from everyone. ❤🖤
Seth promised to be Cody’s shield and indeed he was. Seth coming out in the shield gear (and almost had me thinking they brought back Jon Moxley) was a beautiful moment, Roman finally got the revenge he’s been wanting to get for 10 years but at the cost of his title. As for Roman, love him or hate him there won’t be another like him. I was iffy about him when he came back in 2020 but he slowly grew on me overtime and I came to appreciate the title reign he gave us. I think it’ll be a very long time before we see a title reign like that again
Bloody fantastic. Best wwe weekend I’ve ever experienced other than mania 35 (only because I attended live but I guarantee if I attended mania 40 live it would’ve been better) people hate on the pg era but as someone who grew up through that era I couldn’t ask for a better way to send off the time I grew up in. From cena and Orton appearing and aj putting over knight, to reigns revenge on Seth, and the end of a historic title reign (from someone who was hated through the 2010s and became a loved hero). The whole weekend brought a tear to my eye. Great job HHH. People hated the pg era but with you and reigns historical reign coming to an end we can reminisce on the pg era whether we liked it at the time or not. Can’t wait for this new era and this new time as the pg doors close and another opens!!

People hate the PG Era but in hindsight it was way better than the late 2010s.
Cody's entrance told a story. An American Nightmare mask and Brandi showing up spoke volumes. I got chills. It was literally saying "This is it. We in the Endgame now."
As everyone has already pointed out, that Roman-Seth bit was a masterclass in storytelling. After all, that one chair shot turned Roman into what he is today. That's the source of Roman's trauma. No matter all the greatness he has achieved, he will never be able to move on from Seth and that betrayal. This is the reason Roman is ruthless to his family and constantly needs them to prove their loyalty for him. He can't trust them because his brother had turned on him. So even when everything is on the line for Roman, when he should have simply focused on Cody, he still couldn't let it go, and ultimately dropped Seth with the chair, and that costed him everything. Seth told Cody that he was the only one who was uniquely suited to be his shield and he literally was. Seth knew he was the only one who could get under Roman’s skin the most. That's the reason he came out to the Shield's music, wearing the same vest. Seth didn’t land a single hit yet he did the most damage among all. The Head of the Table was destroyed by its creator, The Architect himself. Seth had a brutal tag match and then lost his title. He didn’t even have to come out for Cody, but he had his reason. Seth began his journey with a betrayal in a selfish way. And that's his final sacrifice to destroy the monster he helped create even it costed him everything... his body, his title. An ultimate form of REDEMPTION for him.

Also to add to it. I’m pretty sure. Seth has never lost to Roman via Pinfall. When he lost to Roman it was by DQ. I think the story telling was tryna prove your point (very good point btw). And that Seth is the only one who truly knows Romans weaknesses and to get into his head

This Wrestlemania as a whole was probably top 3 all time and definitely the best WM and also PPV I’ve seen in 15 years. Cody’s story really put it over the top. And also seeing Sami Zayn winning the championship really hit me hard. Seth Rollins was my personal MVP this weekend even if he lost almost everything. I’m easy to please so I don’t complain a lot, but if I had to pick on something I’d say I was just not a fan of priest cashing in and winning. It happened and I didn’t even have a reaction, it was kind of “meh I guess that just happened”. I’m hopeful maybe I’ll change my mind about how I feel after I see how his reign goes or where his story is taking him.
Great review!
I have a theory why Steve Austin didn't came out, Austin has always been the Terminator for Rock, the one that puts the final nail in the coffin. In the upcoming months I believe the Rock will become more ruthless bringing more tyranny, he will find a way to neutralize these PAST LEGENDS and eventually leading up to a clash between babyface Roman or Cody at WM41. Austin will appear in this final clash to defeat the Final boss for good, Wwe is saving the Kryptonite of the Final Boss for the last chapter.

Other theory: Austin would've helped, but Pancho was sleeping on his lap, so he couldn't get up to make it to the plane in time. So when Taker, who was enjoying a bottle of Jack Daniels in his couch while watching WM, realized that nobody was there to save Cody, he teleported to the ring, chockeslammed Rock, and teleported away to watch the rest of the match. This also explained why Taker didn't have his ring gear.

What I love about Roman’s character is that Seth is always his Achilles Heel. Roman suffered his first loss as the tribal chief to Rollins because he couldn’t let the betrayal go and he lost arguably the biggest match of his career because even after everything he still can’t let go. Storytelling is the most important part of wrestling.
Night 1 felt like a regular ppv. Night 2 felt like mania. If they would’ve combined the best matches from each night into 1 show it would’ve been better.

It's time to start the Losing Streak angle, where it's going to become a competition to NOT lose to Asuka at Mania. Whoever manages to lose against Asuka shall become a legend.
I love the "Without Me" Beat playing in the backround

I think it's safe to say that when you put together so many factors like match quality, roster, weekly shows and profit, this might genuinely be the best WWE has ever been. Maybe even surpassing the days of the Attitude Era. Everything feels so fresh and exciting, they're doing more shows outside of North America, the current crop of talent is phenomenal, there's a great balance of characters and workers, and there's pretty much something for every type of wrestling fan to enjoy. Crazy to see how much the company has turned around since Triple H and Nick Khan took charge. And following such a fantastic WrestleMania, I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Yesssss UPLOAD!!!!!!❤
Mania 40 reminded me why I love wrestling, especially night 2, I haven't Been so in awe at the spectacle in ages. Triple H if mania was any sign I cant wait to see what you have up your sleeve for the rest of your run has boss. While wrestling isn't always a love story has Bray Wyatt said its more its a spectacle nobody can deny, its a fantasy that most don't understand. and that is why I love Professional wrestling.
I called out of work to watch night two. I am so glad I did, that ending reminded me of Avengers: Endgame. I never cried so much in my life. Pro wrestling is magic. Pro wrestling is back.
You said it I was at the Linc let me tell you something. This is a weekend I will never forget people will talk about this for years
Ngl this was my most replayed PPV/PLE since All Out 2021, as a fan of professional wrestling it's been 3 years since I get goosebumps like this one Papa H literally gave us a Cinema.

For my last WrestleMania it was great!!!! I was asking My Ancestors to please let me cry tears of joy while watching and I did so many times. I feel so blessed. I feel so relieved. A relief I didn't even know I was waiting on. Now I know by the end of the year I can stop watching happily.

A Perfect way to finish a chapter and a new beginning Just like old times
It was good. My favorite matches were Night 1 Tag Team Main Event, Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre. This decade has been a good one for wrestling.
@stephenhughes5156

Rollins vs Drew was a boring finisher match. The tag main event was way too long and drawn out. US title was definitely the best match, putting aside the night 2 main event. After that probably IC title and Bayley vs Iyo.
Can we just take a moment to thank Roman for what he has done cause let's be honest here Romans reign as US title reign brought alot of us back to the WWE so thank you Roman.🫡
Becky was sick and was able to do that match is incredible
@SuperkickStudios Hey I have a video suggestion with the draft coming up in 2 weeks from Friday can you do a video about how the 2024 draft should be booked?
Some of the best storytelling I have seen a while. The Roman Reigns and Seth revenge arc was I nice touch. They have so many things they can do with the aftermath. Hope they can book smart and keep the ride going.
'IShowMeat' 💀
This was the Greatest Wrestlemania of ALL TIME imo🤷🏾♂️. What main event of Wrestlemania had Cena, Rock, and Undertaker getting involved. Thats never happened before and I don’t think we’ll ever see it again!
Cody getting the belt handed to him at the Woahhh part of kingdom was such a perfect touch
The only criticism i would have is i wish there were some fun backstage/in ring segments. Another gripe would be the lack of pyro like wrestlemania is known for the spectacle and entrances and fireworks is a big thing imo for that. But other than that it was very enjoyable.
Recency bias is crazy. The only spectacular matches were the two main events on both night one and night two. The rest of them were okay. Rewatching this in the future, the main events are the only ones worth watching again. The other matches were just alright. This was an ok Mania. Give it like a 7/10

i was there on night 1. it was windy. it was cold. and it was loud. and one of my favorite experiences of the night was the jimmy vs jey match. after each hit we were chanting "YEET" and "NO YEET" through the entire match. from start to finish. jey couldnt hold his laughter. it was great.
Night 2 made me feel like I was back at WrestleMania 30 bro🔥😭❤️....
Best wrestlemania ever
I thought the pacing for both shows was amazing. Nothing really dragged or felt sluggish and I was left wanting more by the end of Night II.
HHH deserves mad props bruv "Hes kicking a$$ uhhh". I felt & remembered so many different wrestling memories & feelings from this WM. Watching wrestling since early 90s & I watched 80s on VHS recordings etc.) With life + the booking I missed a good % of the PG era but caught up what was "needed" later on =P) Plus following much of the Rhodes career from Dusty to G-Dust Dustin & Cody (& all of his gimmicks they had him do also) n followed the USA Nightmare outside WWE...just seeing how he evolved as a wrestler, a Story teller & a genuine good dude..it was amazing. Not to mention the Story.
cole's commentary during cody's celebration gives goosebumps "DAMMIT I LOVE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING"
I kinda dont agree with your take on Zayn. he might’ve not been the right man to end the reign, but he gave us the match that was worthy of ending the reign.

The finish was awful though. It made Gunther look like a complete fool. He holds the title for 666 days and all of a sudden he refuses to end matches now? He lets his opponents recover so he can insult the families? The guy who has been depicted as smart and physically better than everyone else and now he just stops using his brain? He had Sami beat at least 5 times.

This MANIA WAS A CLASSIC. We had one of the best women's matches We had a classic match imo with the tag team match Then we got another classic with Sami vs Gunther And then the whole match with Drew vs Seth imo was also classical shit And the main event was just.........amazing. Surprises and the way it ended. With Roman choosing to get revenge on Seth instead of winning the title. Seth Rollins really did something special this Mania and deserves to be called the MVP of Mania. Bro really had two amazing matches and had a classic moment with Reigns. Bro truly is the modern day Mr. Wrestlemania. Honestly Mania 41 looks even better than 40.
small detail, lil naitch calling for the bell, just like he did on big wcw title matches, specifically goldberg vs hogan, that was a special touch, i seldom see him do that in wwe. I only saw it now because i was focused on cody and roman's emotion on the pin.
I love how the older wrestlers from the Attitude Era came out to fight each other. Good stuff! End of an era! Woot! Love it!
