For three generations, Ninjask played the part of a Cicada beautifully: show up, annoy the everloving hell out of everyone, and then go away for an extended period of time, only to repeat the cycle again when it came back. I had no idea about its Gen 6 and 8 successes though! It makes me weirdly happy to see the little guy carve a niche outside of BP and make it on his own.

That sounds good on paper, but I don't think it'd be good in practice. Regieleki, despite having the highest base speed stat of all Pokémon, rarely uses Electro Ball because its other Electric-type moves are more consistent, so I imagine Ninjask wouldn't benefit much from having a physical bug-type version of Electro Ball. But if the move was more like Body Press but used speed instead of defense, then yeah, that'd help Ninjask a lot.

I was so salty yet happy at the same time. I caught it, cleared a party slot, and evolved that bug to a Ninjask AND got a shiny Shedinja from the empty party slot. 2 for 1. One of the few Pokémon in DPP OU that aren’t that good (others being Electivire and Dusknoir). Liked using it as a way to catch Pokémon via False Swipe. Fun fact; when evolving from Nincada, it switches its attack and defense stats. Same with Shedinja, but Ninjask gains 30 HP and the rest of its special stats and speed change while Shedinja only loses 30 HP.

On paper, Ninjask sound incredible. Being able to boost it's speed passively, boost it's attack with swords dance, block status with sub and protect, being able to pass those boost to any mon in the game, and having the highest speed in the game besides Deoxys-S,, Ninjask sounds like it should be a top tier threat. Honestly, it was entirely due to baton pass alone. Once it received heavy duty boots and dual wing beat, it could finally stand on it's own. I remember when it was PU for a period of time and it was scary. Nothing could take it's boosted dual wing beats. Hope to see more Ninjask shenanigans in Scarlet/Violet. It's easily one of the most infamous bug types in the games just as a cicada should be.

Unfortunately gen 3 has the most untiered pokemon of any other gen And only few of them succeded competitively And ninjask is far from being among the weakest

@@laxusstrauss5945 yupp ninjask is much better than it's counterpart. It's weird that gen 3 has the most mega evos

i more commonly see on showdown a much greater risk/reward gen 8 set for ninjask. protect and swords dance are the same, but instead of u-turn and dual wingbeat you get leech life and acrobatics. obviously it needs to be itemless which is where the risk comes in but if you're able to leech life recover and get the knockout once especially swords boosted you pretty much have a killing machine that not too many things fully resist it.

I usually think all Pokemon have a chance in Mystery Dungeon, but i think Ninjask is one of the few exceptions. The stats suck and the HP does as well, and since in MD the mechanics are way different it's baton pass speed boost gimmick is nearly useless (In fact, while leveling it up from 60 to 65 speed boost only activated twice) Shedinja is way better only because of it's ability

Hey... um... Agility boosts speed for every ally pokemon in the room... Ninjask learns it. Idk if speed boost acts similar or not tbh. Also Shedinja is WORSE in Mystery Dungeon because you don't even need to attack it. Just throw a rock at it and it dies.

@@nerdstop5025 Agility is good and so is Silver Wind but the attack stat is so pitiful i usually need three turns to finish off pokemon in the harder dungeons. Speed boost only boosts the pokemon speed, not the teammates, but it activates so rarely that it's usually not worth it. Opposing Shedinja are a joke yes, but a Shedinja that evolved from an egg is actually quite more resilient since it gains the HP it had from being a Nincada +10 hp from evolving. Also, since fire type pokemon are usually self contained in their own dungeons and the other weaknesses barely show up it's very easy to abuse wonder guard

@@Duskool wait... Shedinja gains HP in PMD?!? okay, that... definitely flips the script a bit, I never knew that. I don't even know HOW to evolve nincada in a way to get Shedinja in PMD either since I don't believe I've ever used one.

@@nerdstop5025 I believe you just need to evolve Nincada whilst having space for another recruit. In Rescue Team, that means having room for another mon in its friend area. While in Explorers and Super, just have room for another mon to join. Reminiscent of the main series, but INFINITELY easier to fulfill.

@@nerdstop5025 Yeah, it gains HP, easily i might add, after level 60 it gains 1hp per level, so that's another 40 to whatever the Shedinja had beforehand. Also, Nincada just evolves into both with ho real requirements, you don't even need an item for it which is nice
