Please review more of these. Thanks for the video. Definitely helpful
Thanks for the vid! I'm really surprised at how decent cheap stuff is, nowadays. Back when I was a kid, garbage was garbage; If you paid 50 bucks for an amp, you were lucky to get head unit levels of power out of it and it sounded like a fart in a tin can. But these days, there's lots of bang for the buck to be had out there.

Technology improves and gets cheaper over time. Nowdays you can actually produce something decent for 15 or 20 bucks and sell it for 50 or 75. Back in the day 20 bucks couldn't produce anything other then a turd, but if you wanted to sell at the 50/75 mark that just had to do. Nowdays producing something as bad as back then would maybe save you pennies on the end item, so why bother? Maybe i'm out of the scene to much, but the trully bad stuff seems to be very rare nowdays in my experience.

Probably ok for somebody that isn't into heavy bass. I looked at getting my wife a Kicker hideaway but didn't think they were worth the money but for 75 bucks this is. I ended up getting her an 80 dollar amplified Dual truck box. For the money it does really well.

Looking to put 2 of these up front in an 87 4runner combined with some alpine components. Think that’ll be loud enough for a beach day and all play nice together?
What about a under the couch subwoofer with a surround sound system tune low to pick up more mid bass?
hell this is good enough for me to slot under the seat until i get something sorted in the future. better than nothing
Would've love to see a demo with just stock stereo and speakers. Looks like you already aftermarket speakers and tweeters connected to it which will definitely give it a better sound
Just by the look of the integrated amp board, I knew it would do rated
Should’ve mounted it under carpet with mdf and then screw it down with some damped if it came with mounting would be a steal 🤙🏽
I would love to see a comparison video of the underseat subs on the market. I couldn't find any and ended up with the Pioneer TS-WH500A which I am pretty disappointed with. It always sounds like cone is flexing or the bottoming out, it just doesn't sound musical. I would have loved to find a video, especially with your kind of details and your ears, and compare them. This compared to the Kicker would be an awesome comparison due tot he price difference.
I'm looking at adding this to the top case of my Gold Wing. What do you think?
good reccomendation, because i dotn really need more midbass (got plenty). better off getting a small 10'' sub in the back... put some power on there..the thing is id hate wasting the space.. also more work routing cables all the way there.

Only 2? 😂
I’m looking to install a 6.5” skar subwoofer in my 2nd gen 4runner in the rear panel but not sure if I can fit a box there so I was thinking of literally bolting and padding it down so it doesn’t vibrate. Is the box really all that necessary for a subwoofer or will it suffice without the box and dealing with the lost potential is more personal?
So how much air movement do you get? Basically how much bass can you feel out of these lil guys?
i had the kdc x998 that was such a single din

Not bad for what it is… I got a question for you. What size box do you recommend for a sundown 8” sub and what port size? And also what amp would I need to run the 8” sub and the hyanka 6.5 component speakers. I think that’s what I’m gonna go with in my ford ranger extended cab. I’m gonna try to remove one of the seats in the back and build a sub box to fit in that area. Thanks in advance.

@petedetraglia4776

No under the seat subwoofer is going to hit 28hz with any type of volume...That would need to be a really good 12 inch subwoofer in a well built enclosure and atleast 500 to 700 real watts RMS to get good loud bass at 28hz...
Price is now $86 after $10 coupon. Also, speaker is actually just under 7", not 8".
could you put two of them in?
So if I have a Stereo Integrity sub in the trunk, would this cause any sound issues if I was to add this in as a mid bass booster. I can’t really afford to add dedicated mid bass drivers in my doors atm, and was wondering if this could potentially add more mid bass without interfering with my sub sound quality. Like if I crossed over my main sub at around 50-60 hz, and had the under the seat sub play from 50 - 120hz or so.

On a budget you can get a Kicker Comp 12 inch subwoofer, run it in a truck wedge " sealed " box to keep the size of it small, put about 500 - 700 watt mono block amp on it, and by a 4 gauge wiring kit that has an inline fuse. Probably cost about $300.00 total.

Im Actually Looking Into These For Mid Bass. I've Got 2 12s On About 6,000 Watts Reactive Load In A 28Hz Ported Box. It Play Them Extremely Hard And At Thier Limits Which Means The Subsonic Filters And Low Pass Filters Are Extremely Tight To Control Excursion At Very High Levels. The Result Is I've Got Pretty Much All The Bass I Could Want From 38Hz Down To About 23Hz... But I Have A Dead Zone From About 50-120Hz. My 6.5s And 6x9s Are Mind Range Components And They Are Infinite Baffle So They Really Can't Fill In Anything Under 200Hz. Im Hoping I Can Fit 1 Of These Under Each Seat To Fill In The Missing Mid Bass. I Could Loosen Up My Subs Low Pass Filter So They Play Up To Say 90Hz But I Really Don't Want To Unbolt My Trunk And Tweak The Low Pass Every Time I Wanna Do A Demo haha.

Unfortunately with a system that loud I don’t think these would even be able to be heard at all as a booster midbass because they lack the output. For smaller systems they will work in that way, but big systems I don’t think you’d get the desired result.

@@HifiVega I'm Not Looking For A Midbass That's At The Same Level As The Main Subs. I Just Need Something There Because I Have Zero Mid Bass For Regular Music. If A Song Has Bass Thats Higher Say 60Hz I Don't Hear Anything Bass No Matter How High I Turn Up The Main Subs. The Mids In My Doors And Deck Are High Passed Around 120Hz Because They Are Dedicated Mids So They Don't Play Anything Under About 100Hz. So The Result Of Trying To Listen To Regular Music On The Daily Means It Sounds Very Flat / No Depth. Even Some Demo Songs With 38Hz And Lower Has Some Segments Of 60Hz-90Hz And When They Play I Hear Nothing So It Almost Sounds Like The Bass Cuts Out. Especially If There's A Sweep. I Miss Out On The Mids To Subs Transition If That Makes Sense. Im Thinking If I Can Fit 1 Or 2 Of These It Would Be Just Enough So It Sounds Fuller. I Demo Maybe 5% Of The Time. The Other 95% Is Regular Music. I'm Not Saying I'm An Audiophile But Right Now It's Like Listening To Normal Music With A Really Nice Set Of Headphones That Have A 125Hz High Pass Filter Applied hahaha

@@salvatorehayes2753 it's not going to be audible, you should invest in a chachuro box(if you have the space) I have a quad 6x9 box with 4 pioneer premiers and a triple stack of 12in punch subs, one day I heard this guy( over my 6x9's that's right behind me) and asked what was in their, he showed me the box, and honestly it looks cheep with the colors, but with 2 10in midranges, 2 4in bullet tweeters and a 6in compression horn, it sounded better than my old mtx(rip) blue thunder box with 2 15in 4 5in midranges and 2 horn tweeters, I'm saying all this to say they are pricey, I paid 5 hundred ( after shipping) for prv chachuro box, but the deejay brand is even more because it has the deejay logo stitched on the box.if you haven't heard one, go to your local shop and listen to a demo. The 2 Signals Combine And The Result Was My Normal Clean Unfiltered Bass With The Epicenter Knob All The Way Dawn And Then When I Want To Fill In The Dead Zones I Mix In A Little Epicenter To It. Probably made by the same company that makes Rockville rubbish. I tried a Rockville compact sub, and it was the strangest experience. You could actually see the cone bouncing up and down when you cranked it up, but it made...... nothing. No bass, not even any midbass. Just nothing at all..... like it wasn't even connected. I seriously couldn't work out how it made zero bass with the cone jumping like it did.

Huh, do you think there's an air leak behind the subwoofer. I think there needs to be a difference in air pressure to make good sound right
@broeheemed32
7 ай бұрын
@@zzoinks - Many subwoofers have "air leaks"..... otherwise known as "ports". Their purpose is to allow more movement of the cone and produce lower frequencies than in a sealed enclosure. A random unintended air leak might change the sound, might add distortion, but I don't see how it could completely eliminate the sound. No, I think Rockville is just cheap garbage. An alternate compact sub by Sound Ordnance (Crutchfield house brand) is nearly identical to this one and does an admirable job. Now there's a 10" Kicker compact that is phenomenal for a compact.
@zzoinks

@@broeheemed32 thanks for explaining! Awesome that crutch field has their own in house brand. Crutchfield is a really nice store but also pretty expensive to me. Actually, the Sound Ordnance™ B-8PTD is $190, so it's a lot of money but it is better to save up for a good quality product I'd be happy with. I bought these super cheap Boss door speakers once. Think they were $20 for 2 of them, I recall. They had 3 tweeters apparently. They sounded a bit crap. They were way quieter than the $40 pair of Rockford Fosgate speakers I had in back, so quieter than the stock speakers, and it was like the 3 tweeters were just decorations. (Boss claimed they were genuine). The speakers also died in a few months, and Boss wanted me to remove the speakers and cut the wire to get a warranty replacement. (no thanks, not going to remove the whole door panel an unnecessary time) But what should I expect for the price of a McDonald's meal? Have you ever been in an early 2000s Buick (or perhaps other gm vehicles?). They had really strong bass from their stock speakers! No subwoofer either. But maybe that's why the ones in my 18 year old car were blown up by that age. The weird thing is once in a while, in really hot weather, they'd start working again, otherwise didn't produce any sound. (maybe this is something you could explain)

If i am being honest, no one should buy this thing. Let me explain: the box looks very nice, all around looks is nice but as an under seat sub is less than poor and the looks does not matter at all. On top of that, my 2001 Volvo coupe comes factory equipped with a full system and actually has 4x8"x100w rms midbass speakers and they are louder, sound better and they're in doors not even in boxes. So if anything i would buy one of those old cylinder active subs instead of this one and attache it to the back of my rear seat and sound way better.
