@@Mr-ye1vu I can understand how the media contributed to Osaka’s issues, but at the end of the day she was unable to control her mental health. It’s difficult. Top athletes especially need to figure out how to manage themselves. Osaka simply could not.

It's still amazing how Osaka managed to win her last 2 GS with that state of mental health. She really secretly started resenting the media after all the controversy they caused after her 1st Grandslam win. The wokism and activism she did also didn't help because she had personal problems but chose to take on other people's. I don't have high hopes but I hope she'd also get a sports psychologist to help her just focus on tennis. It always struck me how she'd talk to Bajin as if he was his psychologist.

I’m a great fan of her style. Her groundstrokes are both beautiful and violent. No screaming, no drama just solid, heavy shots and marvellous tactical brain. She’s always entertaining to watch. If she tweaked her serve, that would really add something extra to her game.

@@zielonejadroDunno what your perception of being humble is…Tata jest w połowie Brytyjczykiem pół Szwedem, mama Polką. Mam poczucie, że tak samo myślę w tych 3 językach. Humble ma swoją definicję. Yet, still, it’s a combination of a diplomatic coquetry. As ever, plenty of those tiny things showing you bright side. By definition it’s not a fake attitude (which sooner or later would give you away). In ‘literature’ it is often applied to lack in faith in yourself, lower self-esteem etc. Actually, it’s pretty funny because ‘humble’ in everyday English is a kinda label for folks who are very successful, crème de la crème of their areas and fields. At the same time they don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Most of the time are respected for their attitude towards their position. I mean, they can be at the top but remain down to earth, even it sometimes they go bonkers or goofy as Iga can be. They’re not pretentious. Show respect for their work as well as for their rivals. Don’t have shady/sport diva moments. Jeszcze kilkadziesiąt lat temu w Anglii mówiło się „If you service/servants are not humble enough you’d better watch it for your maid may replace you one day. Czyli prawie oczekiwano pokory połączonej z przepraszaniem, że się żyje (może trochę przekoloryzowałem ale z grubsza tak to rozumiano.). Modest głównie odnoszono do ludzi skromnych zazwyczaj cichych, z dobrymi manierami). Geeeeeeeeez I’ve written a book 😂, soooo wordy….. We can easily say that our National Pride and Treasure Iga Świątek is humble. And it definitely brings up positive connotation. It’s all about pros and no cons. 🙌🏽🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇬🇧🇸🇪Iga jag och min familj är så mycket stolt över dig, käre sötnos få mig kalla dig så 💪

@@jliang70 hmmm, I mean I can see what you mean from her stoicism, but not the rest. maybe one I dont know. I'm biased, I dont think a two hander can show artistry. But with her loss the other day it demonstrated I think one thing I was saying. if the opponent plays well and does mentally blow up Iga does have a game that just blow the person off the court. Like Serena could be playing bad, and losing her mind and her forehead and serve would save her.

    10 ай бұрын

@@jliang70 I can't completely agree. Yes - Muchova in terms of the technical part is probably the most skilled player on the WTA tour. But she misses other parts of the game. Iga is a freak in terms of technique. if you would watch her years ago (mostly before coach-change) you would see how extremely skilled she is. Simply Tomasz Wiktorowski changed the way she plays. There is no place for technical drop-shots, slices and "maestro-looking shoots" in her extremely aggressive way she plays. But it doesn't change a fact that she is a master in that. And sooner or later she will improve each part of her game and she will became complete player. For example she is not allowed to go to the net. Tomasz doesn't allow her that...even tho she plays on the net pretty well (we could see that in doubles with Bethany 2 years ago). But just wait. I suppose each year Tomasz will be adding one "new, unique part" to her game. This year she improved her serve by A LOT. Oh god. If you compare her serve last year and this year...it's completely new player. I suppose next year they will practice going to the net...mostly because of the mixed-doubles with Hubi on Olympics. She is going to need a "playing close to the net skill"...and pretty sure after WTA Finals in pre-season she will work on that part A LOT. In my point of view the real prime of Iga we gonna see in 2026/2027. She will be 25/26 years old (so in terms of the physical part she will be in the best years for a woman's body) and she will still improve a lot in these coming years. Feel free to make a screenshots...in 2026 or 2027 she will win all 4 slams in one year. We've never seen a player with such amazing movement on court. And this movement will always give her advantage. She can hit the ball better (because she has more time to prepare to the shoot) and she can defend better. She will be a complete player we've never seen before.

Only concern going forward is her predictability in a game. When there is a moment in a game when there are 3 options a "game plan" is not always the best way to go. A player must determine on the spot which option presents itself to get the best results. This way the opponent is kept guessing instead of "knowing" where the shot will be going most of the time. Everything else about Iga is wonderful. Very dedicated to the sport and it should never be thought of as anything but. Iga proved herself on grass at Wimbledon and she will continue to get stronger and more confident on the surface.

She needs to take advantage of her posture and height as well, she can be quick to reach drop shots and hit low strokes. She can be an all around player but I think it comes down to having near perfect accuracy and the mental capacity to hold herself when she needs to play defense.

Here is my thing with Iga and really the whole women's game right now. I see a lot of good players, I dont see any great ones. Iga is taking advantage of there not being a great. dominating player. Hingis was like that for a while too. As soon as someone with weapons showed up, Venus, Serena, Henin it was a wrap for her. When Martina got into shape, and you watched her on court, you said whoa. When Graf hit the scene and would run around that forehand, you said whoa. When Seles hit the tour and starting just kicking Graf's ass, you were in awe. Venus and Serena the same. Great player would just make you go, wow at how they dominated the people they played. I dont see that with any female player right now consistently.

I don't think the game is shaping up as Swiatek era, we are seeing emerging players in Rybakina and Sabalenka ready to take over from Swiatek. We saw her nearly got dethroned by Karolina Muchova on her favorite clay court surface at FO, she was defeated by Svitolina at Wimbledon. Honestly I thought she was on the lucky side of a good draw to make it to the Wimbledon final. To me Rybakina and Sabalenka are on the way to diminish Swiatek's dominance on clay. Rybakina and Sabalenka are in the process of dominating Swiatek on grass and hard court. If you look at Sabalenka on grass this year she is adding more to her game, not only she is powerful but she also mix up her game with touch, slice and also venture into the net to finish points with a volley, Rybakina is also adding to the game. To be honest Swiatek has not add much to her game. We see this pattern in the game with Rybakina winning Wimbledon then starting to make her point on Swiatek at this year's AO, also with Sabalenka winning AO. In term of tennis skill sets Swiatek's is not the fullest by any stretch of imagination. I just don't see Swiatek will stand along on the podium in this era as Serena William or Graf did

Martina…graf…probably serena. Iga would not beat any of those. He has no fundamental weapons. Hell I bet Jston Henin beats her

She is maybe No 1 right now but she is not Steffi Graf. Also she does not have the athletics ability of this former tennis legend as she has not won Wimbledon. Moreover Steffi won her 1st Grand slam, i.e. RG in 1987 at the age of 18 years old. And she won all four GS at least 4 times (22 GS in only 12 years).

Jelena Ostapenko has a different opinion and for good reason, as Iga has never beaten her in all 4 of their meetings now. Jelena is also the most gifted and electrifying player in the WTA. Unfortunately she has never reached her potential. Why?

Polish government supported Ukraine with tens of billions of dollars of help in various form. But they will not dare to sink own farmers, especially in the elections year, which they are gonna lose thanks to their brainless and unconditional help they gave to Ukraine at great cost of own citizens.

Absolutely not a fan of her as a person. But she could change. Definitely a tough out in any tournament. Let's see how long she can keep that going.

Miss Swiatek, what happened to the blue-yellow ribbon on you hat? It is not "kosher" anymore? Did WTA or Polish sport authorities asked you to remove it? I hope you are going to replace it with the Palestinian national colours soon...
