My experience tire size can actually make a huge difference depending on how much they balloon , therefore increasing the diameter greatly.

I've always loved them tires though they remind me of the Jato.

Just tested my Rustler 2wd XL-5 with stock 12T motor, 28/76 gears, 16/90 gears, 8.4 NiMH, and 2S LiPo. In high gear setup, the LiPo hit 40, and the 8.4 hit 39. In low gear setup, the LiPo hit 24, and the 8.4 hit 26. Both batteries were freshly charged for all runs. With 28/86 gears, the top speed was 37 with both batteries.

The sir is a well worth while upgrade. The Rustler in any form is solid & always fun. They are very tuff & reliable. I have the Rustler 4x4 VXL I was looking at Slashes but for the price the Rustler made more sense for me. I have a Max 10 in it & I just checked my programming & made a few adjustments & man that thing is just on 🔥. It was a blast & hit a jump at almost full speed & just sent it with a perfect landing. Then I was just ripping & managed to stop to hard & it flew up & hit a tree trunk hard. The body came up clipped from the front & my battery was loose but nothing broke so I secured the battery & remounted the body & was back off & running I thought for sure by how hard it hit & by how fast it was going that I’d find something broken. I’m definitely happy with the Rustler & definitely recommend it.

I have the 4x2 rustler Bl 2s. I changed the pinion to a 17t and got 35mph on road. With the Traxxas 3000mah 2s lipo, I only get like 13 minutes run time though 😅.

They don't strap a GPS meter on top to test for speeds, in the factory those cars never touch the ground, they use rc car scale dynometers, guaranteed they get the mph that's on the box, except they have perfect conditions, with no wind resistance to slow it down.

That looks too pretty to get scratched up😆. In my opinion considering it's a stadium the speeds this RC is running are more than adequate. Not everything needs to be approaching 50 mph to have fun.

so is the rear wider than the front now that you put front offset all around?

Traxxas really likes to false advertise their speed claims on a lot of their vehicles. Claiming 45+ on a vehicle that does 40 on optimal gearing is kinda funny to me. At least Arrma under claims a lot of their box speeds. Like the Mojave 4S is a "50 mph" truck thay does 55 mph straight out of the box, no mods at all. Wish Traxxas would take note
