Apparently next year AlphaTauri is gonna run under a different name (Plz toro rosso) and take as many parts from red bull as legally possible, since the last couple of years they’ve been trying to have less of a reliance on RBR, but that obviously hasn’t worked the way they wanted it to. So hopefully 2024 Yuki and Daniel have a car that is competitive in the midfield, like what we saw in 2021.

I was talking about qualifying only, but let's discuss the race as well. Certainly Daniel's tyre management in the last stint was a great job. In addition, it could be called a masterpiece considering that there were 10 races blank. However, it is important to remember that he was basically more than two seconds GAP ahead, except for LAP30 and LAP39. This may have enabled him to concentrate on protecting his tyres. In a way this may have been possible because of the incident on the first lap.

@irishRocker1

Yeah and Yuki makes up a bit of time in braking but then loses it as you pointed out but Danny will learn the car, and learn to push that more. In Renault and McLaren the main thing for him learning the cars was learning the braking and brake feel so he could know how far he can push it. It seems he has shorter corners than Yuki and can improve on braking when he gets more time in the car. The differnece here is marginal and it could have probably gone either way but its great to at least see Danny on par with Yuki already considering he spent 2yrs at McLaren up to 1sec behind Norris. It seems if he just uses his natural ability he will be fine but McLaren tried to micromanage him and it messed with his driving style and prob forced him into braking differently and losing his shorter corners
@tomaszropuszewicz1024
11 ай бұрын
@@irishRocker1The fact that he loses time during breaking is because of his unusual style of breaking with slightly less pressure to keep the car more stable. This is also a part of his disappointing pace in McLaren as the car wasn't suited to such style of breaking.

Yeah. That's also how Max drive tbh, he's also not someone who slam late on the brake, but find a way to shorten the corner and smoothen it, so he will spend less time rotating the car and has a better exit. Now i kinda understand why Max and Daniel both perform pretty well on the Red Bulls before.

@@Aijiyaaa i'm pretty sure that strong rear end grip car, which is understeery, like McLaren is the one that need good brake to help putting more pressure on the front grip and help rotating the car when late braking Red bull has strong front end grip which is oversteer, so u don't want to brake too hard to prevent putting too much pressure on the front end since it already has alot of grip there, and i think Alpha Tauri has similar set up. So for Daniel who brake early when he does a lap time, its suit him. He only brake late to does his signature dive bomb when he overtake. That's also why Perez seem struggle doing lap time on the red bull car, he is a late braker, so it only help when he overtake, not when he do qualifiy
Pretty good snap shot of Danny’s natural driving style. Sure he was into turn one behind Yuki because of an earlier breaking point, but ahead out of that corner. Classic Ricciardo; trail braking and lots of flow through the rotation keeping the aerodynamics of the car engaged via higher corner speeds. This is his natural instinctive style. Something he could not do with the ‘strange’ McLaren design philosophy.

Very cool analysis, I think Dan will pick up a bit more time as he become more used to the car, but Yuki is and has been a great driver in F1. But all drivers use a similar overall approach, the subtle differences of each is what makes F1 so amazing. Max and Checo, LeClerc and Sainz, Ham and Russell would probably look similar in some ways and then different in others. Max, LeClerc and Ham running a few seconds ahead of their teammates. Max has been on another level this season. Not just because of superior Red Bulls cars, but he's finally grown into the shoes of his aggressive style he's always had. More than any other driver he's at the peak of speed vs grip this season.

Is it somehow possible to make it more obvious which driver is which? Currently the 3d models are the same so when the cars are really close to each other it becomes rather difficult to tell which is which. (F.ex. making the other car darker etc.)
How do you get the positional data?
Combine yuki’s braking and daniel’s corner exit and you got yourself a stew going.
If it wasn't for Zhou Ricciardo may have scored points.
He can drive the line, it does not change much for any cars on this track. would be interesting to layer all the laps of the race and see what line is the most used, is there a predetermined route, or a driver who takes a corner a little different.
