HOW FAST IS AN F100 COYOTE 5.0 SWAPPED?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Take a look with us at what a Ford Coyote 5.0 engine can do for you! Jason explains the process of Coyote swapping our 1971 Ford F100 and the benefits of that project. This Particular Project was a one-time build and the stock Mustang Headers will not work; instead, please look at our FFG Headers, which we have built specifically for your restoration or rebuild.

people who swap new engines in old bodies are really saying that old style is way sexier than the new. new rides look like they were designed by bureaucrats thinking about mileage safety and mass appeal. old vehicles look like they were designed by an artists who love wheels.

I bring it up all the time. These car companies would make so much money by making a few tribute vehicles a year. Old school bodies with the comforts/engines from the new ones. I know I’d Buy one. Or by just remaking some of the old stuff in general. Not saying roll out tons of them, but a few tribute vehicles a year.... heck I think they would sell themselves.

I had help with all the heavy lifting and welding. But the moral of the story it takes hard work and patience. Put ur mind to it watch videos join some coyote swap pages on Facebook. If u have questions most of the guys on those pages are more than willing to help. Good luck!!

As to swapping the twin I-beams from the later trucks... I did the same thing, but to my '66 F100 - have boosted disc brakes now - much better braking power, and it no longer pulls left or right. Same parts should fit a '65. I also swapped in a power steering box from the same donor - had to mix and match parts from the steering column to make it all work, but it wasn't too bad. As for the engine, I didn't go all the way to a Coyote - but went with a fresh 351W (with GT40P heads - short tube headers fit them) plus an AOD. It runs great, does 80 mph all day, and gets 17 mpg, which isn't too bad, all things considered.

REAL Ford guys would NEVER put a LS in ANYTHING Ford!!! There's tons of options now that are fairly cheap like 2-3-4 valve engines and the 5.0-5.8 engines. Buying a new crate coyote and control pack is a little pricey but they're showing up more and more in the parts yards which is going to bring the price down.

my brother is building a '68 camaro with new power train components. personally i like going with what was available before they put brains in cars. to me the reason to drive old stuff is to bring back memories of yesteryear. not to try and improve on a classic. when you add a computer to an old ride you are basically screwing up what was nice about it in the first place imo. now if you are young it might be because you like the old style better but my brother is 64. he has always had a thing for computers and technology but i am more a purist who would never think of dropping a multi valve engine in a 68 camaro.

You can easily make 500+ rwhp out of these coyote motors and still get over 22+ mpg. Big block are dead. The new motors out perform them in every aspect. The 6R80 is a best of a transmission in stock form. Strap a turbo on the coyote and e85 and you can make 800 whp reliably on stock everything and still have 20+ mpg. The old big blocks just can't compete is stock form.

My favorites are the early to mid 50s F-100s but that is a really sweet restomod with that Coyote 302 in there and modern steering, suspension, and brakes. I get sick of seeing nothing but Mustangs and Camaros all the time. Cool to see a restomodded short box F-100 muscle truck. I hate when people completely modernize the interior and everything so it's like you're not even driving a classic anymore. If I was doing a build like that I would keep everything 100% original appearance wise other than wheels and tires. Really nice truck

It would easily outrun most of the cars I raced with it, including a mid 80s Corvette one time. He left quickly after getting beat by an old Ford truck, lol! It would make the big rear 33" tall 12" wide tires howl like a hound dog. I had a blast with that truck. It makes me wish I had kept it watching this video. Hey folks. I have a 57-58 f100 to restore. Any advice for part buying vehicle enhancement and safety add-ons? Thanks! Great video Jason! With out the old we would not have the new. I have a 16 f150 with the coyote. Wow! Respect to f100 owners!

I own a long box '72 F100 in the same exact color, I believe it was called desert tan. It has a mildly built 390 that looks like it'd be left in the dust by your coyote.

My mechanics teacher used to get mad if you called an engine a motor..... the engine is actually the power plant that makes all the motors run in that beautiful truck....

What would be most cost effective, including the fun factor ? Swapping a 4.6 for the Coyote, or putting a blower and electronics and tune on the 4.6 ? This is a fabulous truck !
