@@random-zb7fp It's not debatable that Kipchoge has accomplished more then Haile at the marathon distance. 10 world marathon major wins and 2 Olympic golds vs 4 world marathon major wins and 0 Olympic golds. If we include 5K and 10K as well, I argue that title belongs to Bekele. I have suspicion, though, that Cheptegei will end up with the most accomplished career should his trajectory continue. I would really struggle to last 2 mins at this pace so that shows you how far ahead of a 19:18 5k runner a 15:30 5k runner is = 5 times as long! Thanks for the video and the effort!

I was 16 years old and was doing literally no pacing. I’m pretty sure that ESPN was there filming it for their Running and Racing TV show. I’ve always thought about contacting them so I get footage of me in that first mile keeping 1st place in the race. The thing is, there were pro runners there who went on to win the race and a 4:52 mile didn’t even phase them. I couldn’t believe how relaxed and calm they were. Anyways, you’re awesome dude. Running like Kipchoge or even close to him is a genetic gift for sure. Not even the best runners amongst could train to attain such a pace and endurance. Cardiovascular, muscles, Lactic pain acid buildup, etc. There’s something very unique with their bodies. Those guys r built that way at birth.

yup, most pro sports are getting to the level where you need to put the work + genetics to be at the top. Like olympic swimmer (men) need certain height, same for tennis players, for pro cyclist their oxygen intake must be incredible, etc...

I did this challenge not long ago and I manage to run for 90 seconds, I'm much closer to beat a 100 meter runner in the olympics then keep up with Kipchoges pace for 1000 meters, insane. Good running and a great video Göran.

hahaha because gaps between guys running 100 meters could be ms so of course it seems that way, but it could not be furter from the truth that it's easier.

Firstly, I enjoy your videos and information you share. You have a great attitude about life and are pleasant to watch. With this, I’m wondering what the average incline for these marathon times are… for example, in 1908, where was the marathon tracked as compared to 1956. Also, where was the current record set. Just some general curiosity ❤ Looking forward to seeing more from you, keep it up! 😊

This is really impressive. I wish I break 3:45 for one kilometer someday. Have you ever tried to callibrate this threadmill and/or footpod? On my treadmill the real speed is 9% slower and I see that in different shoes I have different callibration factor for foodpod as well.
