Some points to clarify: whilst this road is in W11, it isn't Notting Hill, it's geographically Ladbroke Grove. This road isn't particularly pleasant, it is surrounded by entrenched poverty, and some parts are unsafe. A buyer must be really desperate to want to live on this road. But that's a choice - and theirs to make! Describing it as a London apartment is a little optimistic. It's a small one bedroom ex-council flat.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.. I’m from Chelsea and I’d never step foot near Ladbroke Grove without an armoured car.

I definitely like the Birmingham one even though there was some things I didn't like but you can't always be perfect. I love seeing London's colorful homes.
I love this type of video! Love comparing what the same money can buy in different areas.
The video was really helpful hope to see more like this
Yeees, more on Birmingham. I actually really enjoyed this video!
Could have done a better job of telling viewers a bit more about the Jewellery Quarter. I think most people are aware of what Notting Hill looks like but you just made it seem as if Jewellery Quarter was just a random area in central Brum and didn't really showcase it like you did with Notting Hill. JQ is one of the few areas in Brum with a high concentration of historical buildings that didnt get completely bulldozed during the post war period and has many regeneration projects in the pipeline currently. Brum is going through a construction boom right now and with HS2 on the horizon (which will give you the easy access to central London), you'll see those rental values go up even more. Not surprised to see some of the snobby comments about the city in the comments section, typical of the London centric view of many in this country

I thought that the bias towards London in the vlog was pretentious. Many years ago I worked just around the corner from the Jewellery Quarter. It has bags of appeal, historical interest, and further potential.
The outside seating area in the Jewellery Quarter wasn’t shown to the best advantage. It could be really stylish with a bit of imagination. Birmingham is a really nice City, with extremely pleasant and unpretentious people.
You should have a look at what 500k gets you in other areas like Northampton for example where you can get a large detached property and it’s only hour by train from London.
G'day Matt and Summer! I'm a fan of you guy's and what you do brings so much value to your channel and for that I am eternally grateful, Thank you! I have made attempts to contact you in various ways without success as yet but I understand your life must be hectic so it's difficult to contact everyone however on the behalf of those who are super keen to get onboard what you guy's are doing and how you are thriving in your life I would personally love to request a proposal for a LIVE Masterclass session with an option to offer a free class as an introduction and a paid class for those interested in investing into your community like a membership program. Thank you guy's and stay well!
Would love to see the best locations to purchase buy and let properties that are reasonably priced!
Beautiful properties, I'm not surprised at the price of the London home, its perfect for the lock up and leave professionals etc, there is no family vibe either. The Birmingham property is much better, more spacious, and you get more value for your investment
I like to see more please. Come to north London Edmonton/Enfield/ bush hill park.
Nice to see you doing UK tours again :) - thumbnail threw me was expecting the brown one to be Birmingham and the colourful one to be London 😂, sneaky, sneaky 😉. If I was buying to live in would select the Birmingham one (as I'm from Birmingham anyway) , to rent out the London one. Although in Birmingham can get more for your money if go for a non new build house.

Birmingham is not a nice city its full of hostile people areas are dirty run down and locals are racist as hell in Birmingham hence why areas are segregated and divided no integration at all people are very miserable.
Great to see you guys doing house tours again, different format but enjoyed it, but not sure I’d want to live in either Birmingham or London 😂
This flat is made for a student it’s not practical for a marry couple in my own personal opinion the first town house due to the location was much more spacious and had a lot more to offer including rooms spaces and kitchen size but both were a great presentation shout out to Matt and Summer great to see you back 👍

agreed. The Birmingham house, was decent but I feel they cheated having the lounge cut in size to have the open plan view looking down on the kitchen. Lost space to be utilised.
Surely, we love to see 1mil vs 1mil tour.
Hello Matt and Summer, love your input on properties as always, even my kids watch with me! I am looking to move back to the UK in a year's time, hopefully sooner, however we are a family of six (four kids!) and I won't be able to afford anything in the southern parts. I'd like it if you explored way up north for options around 2-3K. I've looked at Preston, and was surprised that for 2K I can get a decent new development, 4 decent beds. I've been searching for the best option. We are also looking to get into property initially, and hopefully when I pass my exams as a dentist, things will roll faster. Our aim to settle in London long-term, but I am a little hesitant on how we'll get our first home, because we need a minimum 3 bed, and budget is low. I'd love to see the northern options, if you could please. We'll be landing in Manchester initially, so anywhere around there or further up (I've never been more north than that). Thanks!!
Easy choice, Birmingham… the jewellery quarter is a lovely part of central Brum… and saying you didn’t like the outdoor space? It’s a building site at present, and will be landscaped appropriately with lighting, greenery and seating from the plans I’ve looked up also you looked around the area surrounding the london apartment but not the Birmingham one? Which has lots of very cool bars, restaurants, cafes, independent stores near by and is only a 10, 15min walk into the buzz of central Birmingham
The Jewelry quarter is a really nice part of Birmingham. Super trendy! You say you didn't like the location? It's a brilliant location. Everyone in Birmingham loves the Jewellery quarter

id like to agree, Birmingham has developed so much, London has lost its appeal in my opinion. I have lived in both city's. Most city's have good and bad parts. JQ is actually a very decent area to be living in.

Birmingham City Council are lazy council and doesn't spend the money in the right places lazy and laid back.

Do you guys still have that other house you were renovating to rent out? Just curious 😊 Edit: Ignore that, you just said you do 😂
that flat in London is situated in one of the grimiest, crime ridden slums in London. It's called the Ladbroke Grove ghetto and people are desperate and crazy to want to live there. it's also an ex-council flat and probably susceptible to mould, pests, etc. Also, as it's a basement people walk past and drop their litter.
i love summer
Hey summer and Matt. I don't know if you know, but a little bit of history for you. That flat in London is on the road where serial killer John Christie once lived in the 1940s and 50s. If you noticed the gap between the house's where there is a tree, this is the site where his house was and the bodies and remains of his victims where found. There is a film and drama based on this called 10 rillington place, that was the name of the road before it was renamed.
Is that London one , one of those houses they chop up into flats.
My garden shed is as big as that London flat.
Make video's on 60fps please
Why do you call the downstairs toilet a powder room? This is England and here it is called a downstairs toilet. In America, call it powder room, but not here please. Perhaps I am just a little bit common, lol
I don't think I've ever lived in a place that has thousands of years of history before. It's so interesting to see these old buildings getting renovated over and over and over, and because the rent/housing prices are so high in London, people don't seem to care as long as a place is clean, warm, and without weird things like plumbing leaks or rats. And then, certain blemishes actually, over time, become part of the charm, like say, it used to be that, experienced masons would do the brick work on the outside so that the outside looks perfect, while the inexperienced ones would do the bricks on the inside, which looks all crooked and jagged, but then they get plastered over anyway, but now, people love the imperfection, maybe because we are so sick of everything looking so perfectly made by machines.

These old builds from the 1930's are far superior to brand new homes.
…interesting vid… can’t believe how much more you can get for your money in Birmingham…!!!
So you mentioned that there are two different channels. Someone in the comments mention to film videos in 60 fps I’m not sure what that means but the video and audio quality is not what we’ve been used to seeing. Movement of the camera is too fast not focusing almost as if you’re rushing. Or is it because you’ve been out of the game for a minute? Trying to get back into doing the tours? Either way since I now know that there are two different channels I prefer and enjoy more the Luxury Home Show channel.

I will say this isn't comparable because Notting hill is super trendy Haringey is more typical
Not Ladbroke Grove 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
A lot of new properties springing up in Birmingham recently, but not that much change (or only for the worse). London these days...is not the same as it used to be, and way more expensive.

I’m from the West Country and so this comment isn’t based in me being northern. Why did you refer to the London house as “the nice area”?? It seems that you are very bias in your description. Every area has issues no matter how “NICE” you believe it is.
Birmingham v London? What a silly comparison 😂
That London apartment is sooooo good. Such a high end finish. I would take that one. I thought something like that would be more expensive in London. Great vid guys.

What a terrible video. The Birmingam house was much larger and nicer. Literally no investigation of the area around the Birmingham house was done, no description of what Birmingham is like as a city. The London flat looked horrible. Tiny, dark, damp, with a really awful "garden" etc. They spent about 10 minutes of gushing over how great Notting is! Because it's in London! Which apparently trumped every other consideration.
