Saudi is reasonably priced compared to its neighboring countries but you also have to keep in mind that the wages aren't as high as in Qatar or UAE. Saudi was even less expensive 10 years ago, and beleive it or not, gas price back then was even cheaper than water which made most things cheaper as well.

Major agricultural Cities are Taif, Al-Madina, Al-Qassim, Al-Hassa, Hail, Al-Jouf and Tabok in the last tow cities we grow also Olives and produce an excellent and Luxurious Olive oil. Also in the south region in Jazan specifically we grow Coffee beans and many others. of course not to forget the Saudi Dates. 😉 Have a good time in Saudi Arabia.

Colour me odd, but I love these supermarkets' cost comparisons for food products. My initial reaction is that costs are not that expensive, especially the beard dyes 😂 But, as we all know, locally produced, and most often consumed by locals, products are always cheaper. And, I concur with other commenters, a big thanks for putting up the prices in so many denominations. Take care.

It's always interesting to compare prices and see what others have to offer. At least now you know where to go if you are in the market for beard dye. 🤣 One thing that baffled us there was that Australian grown carrots were way cheaper than locally grown ones and surprisingly cheaper than they are in Australia!! How on earth does that work??? 🤔 Glad you enjoyed it. 😊

I can say from my experience that Saudi is still the cheapest country in the middle east Rent are half as compared to Qatar or UAE Local grown fruits / vegetables / meat and products are cheaper as compared to the imported ones in other countries due the big size of country they can grow more local products There is still a lot of unexplored Saudi tourist locations as they are more opening up and the investment power they have Saudi is the power house of this region

I definitely don't agree with this. Keep in mind that residents in Saudi pay the highest VAT (15% while in the rest of gulf it is 5%) it certainly makes a lot of things more expensive than the rest of gulf and yes rent may be cheaper in Saudi, as an expat you get looted considering the dependent fee and visa renewal charges and overall Riyadh is very expensive! Jeddah on the other hand, still comparatively much cheaper (talking about the restaurant prices)

I’ve been buying groceries, and cooking my own food since 2017, in Abu Dhabi. I can’t stress enough, how much my monthly expenses have dipped ever since. Somewhere around the region of 93% lower, in-comparison to when I was eating out, or having takeouts, or worse, food delivered to my doorstep. Not to mention how much fun cooking is, along how much safer and healthier it is, to eat your own food. Frugality and austerity, along with being shrewd with one’s income, are things that only a tiny few understand, unfortunately. 🤷‍♂️

Comparing my grocery bill in Canada vs KSA. My grocery expsnse would be cheaper in Saudi Arabia. Canada has so many ridiculous taxes on food. Like the useless carbon tax to help save the planet and stop climate change. This tax is implemented on sales goods, farmers fuel, farmers products per pound transportation and EVERYTHING. So literally the food you eat has been taxed 5 times before hitting the shelf. So a load of bread (Cheapest no name brand is $3). I am hoping to move back to KSA in the next 5 years. I've lived in Canada my whole life, and under the current inflation, and federal government. It's literally a bankrupt country with ZERO future potential of growth or stability for it's citizens.

Great video! I love grocery store price videos. They give me an idea of where to travel for good cheap food. I am a very frugal person and unfortunately these prices compared to where I live in Canada are very high. The only thing I found within my budget were the potatoes, carrots and the cheapest pasta. Butter and cheese seem very expensive. Even the peanut butter at $7.50 Canadian for a 450 g jar is ridiculously expensive. when peanut butter goes on special here in Canada you can get a kilo for $2.99 Canadian dollars! The coffee also seemed expensive. Unfortunately the price of food seems to be going up every day. Everywhere around the world. Still a really great video. I appreciate your hard work.😊

@@Hanadsrequiem your thinking is flawed. You must be very poor if you think like that. I actually earn 7 times more than minimum wage in my area which is considered an above average income but what about people who don’t like students, seniors and the disabled??Forget about Saudi Arabia but let’s talk about the rate of food inflation in general. Is it ok for governments to allow this exorbitant rate of inflation which some say is considered price gauging from these high end grocery stores? The CEO of these stores are getting richer and richer abusing of price gauging while blaming the global economy and while our seniors are starving and malnourished because they cannot afford the basics due to their fixed retirement income . Is that how you would deal with the problem? Tell an 89-year-old that they need to earn more money to buy the basics to survive in life? Personally I would not shop in these stores even though I am privileged financially. I would not only prefer to support local honest mom and pop shops but I don’t support these selfish price hikes from these high end stores. Mom and pop shops don't exist in Saudi Arabia anymore because they became prohibitively expensive to operate. Also keep in mind that hypermarkets usually aggressively undercut each other in Saudi Arabia and ma and pa shops have been simply priced out of the competition. I know this for a fact because we used to run a shop in Saudi Arabia and things just got so bad, not only with prices, but also with regulations that do not apply to the big boi princes who run the hyper markets. @@Busybeeee

Hi. I'm about to go there in 3 days time and renting a car for the duration. Do Carrefour or other retailers/supermarkets sell cheap camping gear that I can buy once I'm there eg sleeping bags/cooking gear etc? Love your videos btw......very refreshing to watch people mixing with everyday locals rather than typical you tubers given freebies as they stay in 5* hotels and take luxury tours for promoting them....they get very tedious unlike yours I'll be watching more of yours before I depart!! Thanks and all the best. Mark

Hi Mark. Thanks for the lovely response 🙏. If I remember correctly you could pick up things like cheap camping gear in the big stores like Carrefour. If you can't find what you want, just ask a local. They are so incredibly friendly there and will go out of their way to help you out for sure. Best of luck with your trip. Hope you have a fantastic time! All the best, Lee and Mandy. 👍
