Pran, Since you love coffee so much, may I suggest you invest in a good coffee grinder, a good quality coffee maker of some sort and filtered water. I don’t know if the Zero Water filter and Pitcher are available in Canada, but I have used the system for years in the US. Then get your freshly roasted beans from a coffee roaster in Halifax. Or learn to roast your own green beans. Always having great coffee at home is fabulous. Buy a thermos and you can take it with you on your travels. Looking forward to the day when we retire, leave south Florida and return to my spouse’s home town of Halifax😁

Thank you for this video. I think I was romanticizing Halifax as being an affordable place compared to GTA / Toronto, but 2100$ for a 3br, 210$/m car insurance, (and I guess tax) is sort of as ridiculous as Ontario imo. Great videos. I know I have to leave GTA after 11 years because I can't see a future for myself, afford a home, or check basic boxes, but I'll have to watch more of your videos before I decide. I need to go to visit family in India from time to time, so going to Calgary / Alberta makes things more difficult even tho it's a great province. I appreciate how objective and candid you are. For a 24-25 year old, you're bright, and will go places Pran.

Halifax cost of living has gone through the roof in the past few years. It was bad enough years ago when companies came in and bought up all the apartment buildings and jacked the rent up before selling them to another company which did the same. Because of that, a lot of people already could barely afford rent. Since the condo developers came in, rent went up a lot more and housing prices and food costs. Now, people aren't just barely able to pay rent, it's either pay rent or buy food and end up homeless. The government would rather make a quick buck from selling land to condo developers and pulling in taxes, they do not care in the least about the well being of the people or what the people want.

Interesting - relating some of this info to people of your age. As for the car insurance you really need to shop around for a better deal, it does take some time but that seems high for the few details you gave. Overall a good estimate as you said you need some of the more extra costs for what you do. It all depends on what is important to you and what you might want to cut back on in the end but def know the cost of things.

Cost of living low, but property taxes are incredibly high. Sales tax is 15% HST as it's Nova Scotia. Can't speak to jobs, as I've away, but I hope it's better than it was when I moved. Public Transportation isn't great. It's expensive for the service they provide.

@Tegrity-Farms lmao bro you have no basis for your argument and this is just making me laugh now!! I was holding a massive camera while walking down the street and vlogging in public! yes of course i didn't pick up the cup right away because I couldn't have been more distracted! but for real man how sad, hateful and delusional do u have to be to be spreading this level of hate when you have no way to even fact check yourself or to prove that i'm lying! I hope your life turns around so you can finally get out of the basement you're locked up in

70 bucks a month for haircuts. That's insane. Learn to cut your own hair and there's more for the coffee budget. Dem South Asian hairy-ess is on another level, to be fair.
