This is all the fault of the West, the EU and the US should never have accepted Kosovo's independence. Kosovo was supposed to remain part of Sebia as an autonomous province, the West set precedents that led to war in Georgia and Ukraine.

uk via russia and usa russia connections are going to start the war, so that companies like Rio Tinto and ZiJIn and americna private corps in kosovo can destroy this land. its simple. plus eu plans to dumps migrants here but they wont stay. i expect due to mmf and china credits which davos made vucic take will let you have a lot more economic migrants they you thought possible. we cant afford food dont be mistaken. inflation is horrible way worse then in EU. so, its not us. just like in the 90s, they need territory to laundry money.

@@freezvitamin i from macedonia , a former yugoslavia country as well , i can tell you with certainty that most of the ex yu people want yugoslavia back , we had a very strong very big country , outside of slovenia all of the ex yu countries are living in suboptimal conditions , the return of yugoslavia will mean that we dont need to join eu , what for when we would easily be one of the economically strongest countries if that regime returns , however true , the serbs are a greedy nation , i have many serbian friends but nobody can deny that , they ruined yugoslavia once Tito died , they started 2 unnecesery wars vs their former allies and blood brothers the croats and bosnians , they were indeed out of control . A modern Yugoslavia could definetly work , as long as the control is not in Serbian hands .

That with KS is not even near the truth. They where not cleansed, they left by themselves. Because of their own crimes and because of the Bad economy. Every etnicity is to blame. I live in this region, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is nobody that could go to war. Most of our young people went to work in Europe, there is no weapons, and most of the population don't know how to use weapons because there is no obligatory service in the army like it was before.

Correct, i can say it for Serbia too. Nobody (from military personal cca. 30 k) wants to go to war anymore, people are tired from wars in 90. It will stay on small conflicts in the north of Kosovo (maybe few more casualties in the future) but that’s it. It’s not as 1999. (when Serbia had 100-150 k soldiers in case that NATO starts ground invasion - it would be bloody war). But everything is over.

As someone from Serbia I can tell you that the chances of war are almost non existent. These kinds of videos are fun, but not likely to happen. The posturing is used only for internal political reasons on all sides. There are 3 main reasons: 1. Even if Serbia wanted a war hypothetically (which we don't), we are surrounded by either NATO countries or NATO protectorates (like Bosnia and Kosovo). There is no way that anyone would decide to go to war with 30+ countries just to get destroyed by NATO. Plus, all Ex Yugoslav armies are a joke compared to former self. 2. There is nothing to go to war for and very few that would be willing to fight. The war here is kinda seen as a thing of the past. We have lived through the consequences of the past war, and nobody would want to bring that back, neither the old generations that have been through it themselves, neither the new generations that have grown up in the aftermath. All countries in the region want to join the EU, develop our economies and gain further stability. We have some issues that need to be solved still (like Kosovo), and some things we don't agree on, but generally we are on the same path, just not with the same pace. 3. Neither the politicians nor the people want war. It would totally destroy any economic and social progress made in the past decades. The demographics are terrible, we have many more important problems to solve and a war would be suicidal. So yeah... not happening. The people know it, the politicans know it, the international community knows it. It's all just posturing. The remaining issues will be solved by diplomatic agreements. It just takes time.

As a Bosnian this is all highly unlikely. Bosnians are still traumatiesed from the 90s and don t want another war. Majority of Serbs also have absoloutly no wish to start a war since they remeber what happened the last time they did and have basicly the same culture as Bosnians.

I believe you on Bosnias part, but I have doubts about Serbs. From what I have studied the prelude to fall of Yugoslavia, tensions rose rather quickly in the end of 80s and early 90s from co-existence to all out war. Considering how popular phrase "Kosovo is Serbia" is over there, it is very much possible that they may go to war over it. But I believe it depends on the success of Russian invasion of Ukraine. If Russia manages to capitulate Ukraine, Serbs might get inspired for a rematch. If they get pushed back then they probably wont try anything. Also regardless of this wars outcome there is a new wave of nationalism sweeping across Europe.

People from these areas are tired of war. As a Croat I can only send lots of love and respect to my Serbian and Bosnian brothers and sisters. It is our politics and sadly lack of education and common sense amongst masses of our people that add flame to hate and sepparation due to different religions and tradition that define all of our nations. I've visited almost all Balkan countries and wherever I went and said I was from Croatia I was always welcomed. Politics are constantly ruining Balkan nations because of their own interests. Politicans gain loads of money, but not even one single member of their families would ever be sent to war while they would send thousands to their deaths without even thinking about it because they know it would make them rich.

i am an albanian from Kosova & no one in their right mind would want a war, not a single civilian but the civilians are never asked. This is a bs take. The balkans have been one of the most peaceful regions in europe except for the 1910s and 90s, which were tragic. During the cold war, the balkans was where the iron curtain was at its least tense. During the interwar years it didn't face more war than any other part of europe at the time, in fact much less. In ww1 the balkans were invaded by austria, yet the region gets the blame for the hostilities. Now westerners continue this meme, which basically makes the 90s sound like what's normal for the region and not the absolute tragedy it actually was. This is highly offensive to people who lived through it and those who still have to live with the consequences. The balkans are today a place of parties and sunshine, loads of problems of course but still some of the best times the region has ever seen.

I was able to visit some parts of the balkans and they are breathtaking and have such kind people!

No the situation is the Balkans is very simple. Serbia sits and waits for global geopolitical scene to deteriorate enough for them to start wrecking havoc in the Balkans again. I mean look at what happened when they tried to invade croatia they failled even though they had more troops, equipment and vehicles. You forgot to add Slovenia. We Slovenians have the feeling that the entire Balkans have moved to Slovenia. Not to mention the problems with Albanians from Kosovo, who leave their wives in Slovenia, and they themselves go to work in Austria, Switzerland or Germany. Albanian women do not want to learn the Slovenian language, they do not work, but they demand everything for free for themselves and their children, thus exhausting the Slovenian social system and causing tensions in society.

You failed to mention how hypocritical NATO is

It is so shocking, I was born in germany, shortly after these wars and never heard of them in school. I learned the Names of the countries and had to memorize there Capitols, but never was the subjects of these wars even touched in class. It is one of the most important events in the European History.

Ex-Yugoslavian countries are still pretty close and work together maybe less than they should however I don’t think that the people of either nations want or have the nerve to attack each other. Not to mention that younger generations love each other more than they hate each other!

90% of the time I think you're pretty spot on and objective and take time to state each side, their motivations, goals, how we got there, and how the consequences play out. This one comes off as NATO pr, and I say that as a republican hick in utah. This happens to be one of the geopolitical situations that I've been very interested in and have studied for quite some time, and you've missed the mark on my perspective. You're not making any particular false claims, but you're only stating things from a single perspective much of the time (Croats were ethnically cleansed but Serbs were "forcefully expelled"). You also seem very out of touch regarding the actual public opinion and even the available bodies for any sort of conflict. There's absolutely posturing going on by the government, but the current situation is no where near as dramatic as you're painting here. This is such blatant propaganda, it makes me sick! Especially about the Kosovo war. 860.000 albanians were ethnically cleansed? WHAT? Not even the most extreme of Albanians claim that.Its physically not possible to cleanse 860.000 people with 50.000 soldiers. And then he says Serbs fled Kosovo (doesnt say etnically cleansed when talking about Serb victims). Theres literall videos of Albanians burning Serbian churches on youtube. Honestly all of American propaganda is so dirty and dishonest, just make a claim that Serbia is ethically cleansing (enter any ethnicity that lives in Serbia here) from (enter any region of Serbia here) and bomb us again at this point... @@offroadoverlords As a Serbian I say that you are 100% correct. He portraits Serbians as belligerent and aggressive, while Albanians are portrayed as innocent and endangered as polar bears. There was so many misinformation and half truths in this video. He completely ignores the motivations WHY Serbians rebelled in North Kosovo and WHY Serbians are against this specific high representative in Bosnia. Overall very biased and disappointing documentary.

Honestly not sure why I click these videos at this point. Clearly I'm not getting an unbiased view of stuff that I know less about. A huge red flag I've noticed on several occasions is low key justifying Russian imperialism using analysis that would've applied a few hundred years ago, but completely breaks down in a 21st century context. Almost any type of military analysis just seems off when you compare him to any expert on the subject.

Even some things presented as like a factual historic event, is not even like remotely close to being true... I so love your programs, but become thoroughly frustrated by not being able to read your small charts which so distracts from both the engagement and the learning. As a Bosnian Serb I just can say this overview is all but NOT independent and unbiased. This channel seems to be compiled by an American spokesperson. No any Serbian argument is presented. E.g. General representative in Bosnia is not elected by UN General Council. For that reason, since he is not legally elected, his authority is not recognized by Serbs (all his predecessor's decision were against interests of Republic of Serbska). That is only one argument not spoken here, but the other Serbian arguments (valid or invalid, just or not just) are also are omitted, mostly to give anti Trump conclusion at the end.

We flap our gums at each other, both people and politicians talk about how much other nations suck and what we would do to them, we get on each other's nerves and strain our relationships from time to time, but nobody actually wants war and nobody's gonna start a war. At the very least cause all our economies absolutely suck and we don't wanna ruin them further by dragging our countries into war. Russia and Azarbeijan have a large territory and natural resources to fal back on. All we have to fall back on around here is, ironically, each other - the neighboring nations. So no wars here. I think this was already the case before all the wars that already happened. Does not seems like a valid argument when you look into history. These nations probably just need a strong hand or something a little more authoritarian like in the days of Yugoslavia since they cant seem to stop attacking or evicting each other instead of helping each other. I try to keep up with current political events in dozens of countries, mostly in Europe and Latin America. Therefore, events like regional elections or changes in government in any given country usually don't escape my attention. Yesterday, while updating my "database" on Serbia, I came across a couple of interesting events in that country. Firstly, Ana Brnabić, the highest-ranking LGBT representative in an Orthodox country, announced her resignation as prime minister. Brnabić was appointed to this position by President Aleksandar Vučić seven years ago. This required courage, as it could easily have incurred the wrath of Serbian nationalists, who, like nationalists in any other Orthodox country, are very homophobic. But apparently, Vučić wanted to send a signal to the European Union that his country is not only oriented towards Russia but also towards Europe. After Brnabić's departure, her position will be taken by the former defense minister of the country. Secondly, Serbia announced that it is ready to buy 12 Rafale fighter jets from France, each costing approximately $120 million. This is a very unusual decision because Serbia usually buys weapons from Russia. Under normal circumstances, Serbia's decision to buy fighters from another country-especially from a NATO member-would have provoked the Kremlin's anger and accusations of betrayal against Belgrade. But not this time. Why? In my opinion, there can only be one explanation: Russia itself lacks fighters. It seems that the entire military aviation is engaged on the Ukrainian front. And this is a good indication that Russia's military resources are not limitless.

On the other hand, you could argue that the lack of openness or willingness to allow areas to change status based on their wishes or ethnic make-up is what led to the Bosnian-Croat-Serbian war. The obsession with keeping it all in place just because someone, somewhere, at some point drew a line on a map, regardless of the wishes of the people in an area, can only lead to more conflict in the long run. Do the trade, make people happy.

I'd add to that, that where people see themselves becoming a minority in someone else's country, provide financial assistance for them to move to where they would be a majority. Moving house as a refugee fleeing ethnic cleansing is horrible, but moving house as someone who has sold their home for an honest price and is cashed up looking to buy a home in a place they like better is just normal civilian behaviour.

As a person, that lives in a neighbouring country, I thought it impossible that the Serbs would attempt anything like that (considering the aftermath of the war with the US), but now I am not so sure. You said that the Balkans have been chaotic and unstable for centuries... well that is thanks to the western powers, that sought to create an unstable region on purpose after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Even after those international sanctions against them they continued to commit genoooside, and atrocities against unprotected Arbanian civilians, massacres, rapes, destruction of their civilian infrastructure and homes, because of those committed atrocities and not accepting long time negotiated agreement remained ex-žugo-sclavian agressionist troops was bombarded from Nato Alliance countries in march 1999, after that Belgrade aggressionist troops signed capitulation and withdrowed all their troops from Arbanian Kasua in 10 of june 1999. Even their small ally Montenegro make secession from Belgrade aggressionist regime. All those aggressed countries became free and Independent countries like: Slovenia 1991, Croatia 1994, Boschnia 1995, Montenegro 2006 and Kasua 2008.

Pay attention to the language. Serbian population trying to "ethnically cleanse" croatians from serbian populated areas in croatia. While croatian government won and they didn't cleanse territory of serbs, they forcefully deported them. So area was ethically cleansed of serbs without ethnic cleansing :) This channel is really good to understand what is about to happen. They are using it is tool for preprograming population.

Damnit, not again! But on a serious note, it is more likely that England has a civil war faster than another Balkan war happening.

I feel like, aside from Ethiopia, you haven’t spent too much time covering any of the many conflicts on the African continent. There are so many to choose from like the wars in the Sahel, Morocco vs. Western Sahara, but the most notable one is the Congo War, or “Africa’s World War”. That would make a killer Nebula episode and you can make a youtube video about why the Congo is so poor. Just a suggestion. Great video as always.

If he wasn't, he'd be either a Russian shill or fully deplatformed, via either direct censorship or coerced to self-censor. That's all that's allowed a big platform - the status quo or the controlled opposition. Big Brother and Goldstein. I still watch Real Life Lore because there is some information to be gleaned from his videos - the problem is that he's a corrupt narrator, like types like him love to call me. Getting truth from his videos(and the internet, other media, and people in general) is like trying to find the truth in King's Landing of Game of Thrones - you listen to everyone and use reason(empathy and logic) and the objective facts you already possess to sift through the lies. Kinda like Varys did - the show Varys, not the book Varys, to be clear. Be nice to children. 😭

I honestly think the multi-entity Bosnia and Herzegovina idea could work. With just one little thing that needs to change. One. Single. President. With the single president, the constitution should add "the current president is not allowed to show any type of support to one ethnicity than the other two". That way, if the president was serb, sprska wouldnt be such a problem. If he was Croat, Herzeg-Bosna wouldnt be a problem. And he was Bosniak, RBiH wouldnt be a problem. Another thing is to smoothen out the fucking entity borders, but thats optional. I think of this as a mini yugoslavia. If only it were like this

As someone from ex Yuigoslavia this is what happened when USA started playing world policeman. But my guess is that first mistakes were made in WW1 with devision of AH empire where many mistakes were made , same were repeated after WW2. Many say that on yalta there was even a plan to devide Yugoslavia like Germany was on chatolic west and ortodox east. And USA never learned on their mistakes repeated them after that in Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afganistan. No problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina was solved, Bosnia lost 1 mil people due emigration or in Kosovo, Montenegro is devided internal, so is North Macedonia bullied by every neighbour arround them. But for the end situation in Balcan is result of war games big empires played over and over again since split of Roman Empire on W and E than Holly Roman empire against Bizantine and latter Ottoman empire cointinued with AH against Ottoman empire, that started WW1. It is a miracle those nations survived 1000 years of domination and represion.

the EU and the US should never have accepted Kosovo's independence. International law should be applied, Kosovo was supposed to remain part of Sebia as a full autonomous province. the West set precedents for other separatist movements and the Russian invasion in Georgia and Ukraine.

There's not going to be any wars. I'm Serbian and as stated above this isn't our war anymore. This wasn't even our fathers war who fought in previous one but political and people trying to hold on to the lie that Yugoslavia was.
