@@pts5217 Yeah, yeah. I've seen that. The thing is, all three of them were well known for infidelity. Pattie cheated on Harrison with someone as well. And George was famous for it, going to sleep with Maureen Starkey. I am aware of that. I think at that time, it was just normal among rockstars to do that or something. I just meant that Clapton was all crazy about Pattie before, got married to her, cheated on her as well, had a son out of that affair and expected Pattie to help him raise that kid. It's awful what happened to his son, but, the cheating after being married to Pattie part was what I focused on.

If Dwayne's slide guitar was out of tune, then that was the way he wanted it. And if Eric and/or Tom Dowd didn't like the sounds Dwayne was putting out, there would have been changes. I'm sure the song was not completed until Eric and Tom were completely satisfied with it. After all, Eric wrote it to win Patti's love so I know he wanted it to be the perfect expression of his feelings. I'm sure those high notes are there to express the passionate turmoil a man is in because of his unrequited love. '.....piano coda in the middle is a mess.'? What is he talking about? It's fantastic!

I was a rare book dealer. Many years ago I purchased a poetry book printed in Edinburgh I believe in the 1600s. On page 16 was a poem called Golden Slumbers and it was pretty much the lyrics to the Beatles song. I had a photo copy of the page but lost it somewhere along the way. I have since found the song was based on Cradle Song an English lullaby. I believe the poem l found was Scottish.

It's well known that Paul was messing around on the piano one day at his father's house, and came across the "Golden Slumbers" sheet music. He loved the lyrics, but as he couldn't read music, he couldn't play the song, so he composed his own melody.

Someone propably cleared that out already, but as a music fanatic I gotta do my part. So yes, the intro guitar riff was already there, but not by Clapton. It's the melody of the begging of a verse in "As the Years Go Passing By" by Albert King. Duane had this song in his head in the begging of the reahersals and simply played it a little faster than usual. Eric loved. And a final point. The song was pratically done. But Clapton felt there was something missing. That something was found when him found Jim Gordon (the drummer) playing the outro piano sequence after studio hours, at night. He loved it and asked to use it on Layla. Thats it! Sorry to bother. This is some knowledge I thought I could share. Aaaaand no. The guitar is not out of tune. It's way he plays it. If you want, I can link some videos here.

It’s really intriguing when people mix up out language with some other languages. Please respect our culture

I always noticed thar Duane was out of tune. I also remember Clapton himself saying that Duane was playing the lick,he licked it and they incorporated it into the song. He did say that he and Duane really hit it off musically and in his mind he thought of Duane as a member of the band. In tune or out it is a great tune.

Wrong Bu... Harrison was good and perfect for The Beatles. Since The Beatles are considered the best band of all time by most, you got to figure he was damn good. He wasn't a shredder or a rock "god" breaking trail like his friend Clapton, but he knew how to make good music with strings on a fretboard. And isn't that the point of it all?
