In 2023, Elly De La Cruz took the baseball world by storm with an over .300 batting average and 16 stolen bases in his first 30 games. But down the stretch he fizzled out with 108 strikeouts in his final 60 games. A few offseason adjustments later and he has come out of the gate firing on all cylinders in 2024. Putting him on pace to do something no player has every come close to in MLB history... He's just 22 years old....

Holy crap, I’ve been watching older highlight vids of DeLaCruz and I had no idea he started struggling at the plate! 😮 but he is still very young and will own his craft once again!
So glad I watch momentum, I’d be missing out on this guy

If you can ignore going 2-3 games at a time without a hit several times a year, he's great. Or maybe firing 104mph fastballs into the stands instead of first base 2-3 times a week?

Usually guys his height (6'5") don't run that fast and steal bases easily. He's a special player.
He has no plate discipline and doesn’t get on base enough. If he could figure that part out then he’s a phenom…

Wait until he gets a little bit more understanding of MLB pitching and fills out more. I just hope more size doesn't take away his speed. The man is electric he has power, lazer of arm, speed and something more important than all a kid friendly game that brings youth towards the game.

@@ShrexyGuyhe is not elite just streaky and “electrifying” he’s batting .198 with a .599 ops .274 slugging .325 obp only 1 homerun 10 errors 40% k rate (even though it’s not the best stat to use 95.3 fielding percentage aka trash🗑️) worst arm in baseball in terms of accuracy and has a very high BAIBIP during April soooooo… not elite

Contact on pitches outside the zone improved? It went down. That’s not improvement. He got worse. Going from 60% to 53% is not an improvement when it comes to contact. You want the number to be higher.

He said ball hit out of the zone results in soft hit ground balls for easy outs. In the case less contact on those pitches is better
