Gowther is another reaction to depression, specifically long-term depression. The feeling is so pervasive you can't take it anymore and effectively squash all emotions. Do this long enough and you basically forget HOW to feel, and, even more, WHAT to feel.

"Everyone's mental burdens are important." Well said Nux. That is one thing I find very hard to deal with right now, everyone is having their own struggles and issues, so why bother them with mine? Are my mental burdens real or do I just need to deal with it? This leads to not opening up to others, thinking your issues a not important or even exist at all, and also that we need to figure it out ourselves. These are all things you nailed with the first three sins, and all things I struggle with. Very relatable and well spoken Nux.

Gowther represents "mental illness" in which, after experiencing the pain of loss, you end up closing your heart to any emotions. Being unable to experience even the tiniest pain, but this means you end up closing off joy and love as well. In the long run, this doesn’t let wounds heal. You start to doubt yourself and then become able to see how broken you are, how all the pain that you didn't feel in those years continued to pile up, not letting you heal and making your old wounds even worse.

Each sin is somehow describing the different emotions and dilemmas faced by a person in real life....

Escanor: tear goes down his face

Gonna be honest Nux, I’d say Gowther can be a relatable character under a very, narrow set of circumstances. Due to some issues I developed in my youth I ended up with an emotional range of either anger or nothing. Viewing so much of my mid teens through what felt like pure analysis was soul crushing without any of the impact. If I didn’t feel like anger there was no difference between a wild party, a wedding or a funeral.

Ughh people don't get Diane, she loses everything and everyone and she's distance from everything and she grows up alone grows up Loveless and lonely even when she gets her memories back she continues to be jealous and distant because she depressed at the fact of the man she loves even if he loves her she hates who she is and even in love she has to deal with the feeling of envy to people who can happily be with the king because she can't due her size this is a literal in her case but takes on a symbiotic existence in our world in the form of confused feelings and the feeling of being unable to be with who you want to be and fit in an even trust

Honestly gowther's struggle can be relatable due to past trauma leading to him having no emotion but still seeking emotion. Some people have serious apathy issues and try to find emotions again and for gowther that's his only goal so he just pursues it more seriously than any normal apathetic person.
