How EA Nearly Ruined Star Wars

Ever since dinsey aquired the Star Wars license there has been one mess after another involving all aspects of the brand. However video games have possibly suffered the worst treatment. Disney decided to hand off the exclusive license to Electronic Arts, potentially the most greedy company on the planet and it sent Star Wars games on a roller coaster of highs and lows that upset pretty much everybody. Although with 2023 having began it marks the end of of EA's exclusive rights and Dinsey has made it clear that they will be allowing other developers to give Star Wars games a try. In honor of this new era I decided to take a look back at EA's handeling of Star Wars to see if it was the best decision for Disney to make.

When you realize that apparently that a single player campaign wasn’t included in Battlefront (2015) EA wanted to rush the game out in time for the release of the The Force Awakens to maximize profits.
This was masterfully edited and well written! Excellent work! The facial close ups were a tad TOO close for my taste, but that's a personal nitpick. Can't wait to see what's coming down the pipeline next!

Thank you so much! And yeah I kinda realized that the camera work was a bit awkward in the Final Cut as talking to a camera directly is still something I’m getting used to
I don't mean to antagonize anyone who loves BF2(2017), but to anyone that said that EA learned their lesson or that the Loot box controversy was blown out of proportion really don't understand EA. I'm pretty sure EA/Dice had to change the progression system not because they were sorry, but because they got caught; especially when Bob Iger himself got involved. Imagine if no one complained about the loot boxes and just accepted it. EA could've pushed the microtransactions even further. Worst case scenario they could've pushed Respawn to have microtransactions in Fallen Order. It is nice that the game is at a much better state. I just wished it was like this from the start. What was suppose to be the best Star Wars shooter experience, became one of the infamous video game launches due to twin corporate greed (DIsney and EA). The whole loot box controversy can be best summed up by Shrek, "Could you not be yourself FOR FIVE MINUTES?!?!?!" Also too bad the single player campaign is still garbage. TIE Fighter (1994) is parsecs better. Marek Stelle FTW!
