Some more details that needs mentioning. The Bayratar is only useful against opponents without air defense systems. The Orlan would be a more cost effective alternative. The Shahed drone is not very useful for actual destruction of targets because of it limited guidance. And I doubt Russia is importing them from Iran anymore and if they did, it would be cheaper than the 20k price tag. Russia has posted video of Shahed priduction facilities and even darken or jet powered versions.

One of the aspect the resume here doesn't cover is the fact that Russia in Ukraine and Iran recently in Israel with success are using drones as decoy to full and overwhelm expensive air defense system.

The purpose of these systems is to provide continual overwatch needs noting. Already the Russian Black Sea Fleet has effectively been written off incredibly...this by a Nation that has no Navy.
