Been playing the games I could get my hands on, even imported in the Saturn age, since the SNES age. First I played on FF1 the stick was busted, yet I still tried to play it anyways. Got 2 and Special on the SNES, then the very early age of the internet showed me, there was more. So I went ordering from one of the early online game shops that was advertised in GameFan. GAMECAVE. I got KOF 95 released in the states, bought an imported 97 from Gamestop but had to take it back as there was a lil crack in it that messed up some stuff, so I imported that. I saw a combo twin box set of Real Bout and Real Bout Special, imported that sucker ASAP which gave me the first two RB games. RB2 didn't come till later and I didn't get to play it till much later. Along the way Dreamcast gave us 98 as 99dream match or such, so they then had to call 99 KOF Evolution. People use to talk smack on the Bogard, and the games. It's nice now to see the vindication of the lot and just how glorious and different they were. It's a grand little universe that I'm happy to see all the more folks interested in these days. My life will be a short one, but I'm glad I was born in 1980 and go on to experience what is likely some of the most creative ages of videgame ingenuity with the balancing of art and skill in beating the technical limitations to make fascinating games with great flavor and soundtracks made with such love.

Real Bout 2! ...I won't lie, I didn't play this one a lot! Also did anyone else get the KOF All-Star ad with Max in it before this video~? - This is the debut of Rick Strowd and Li Xiangfei. Rick Strowd is easily the most popular boxer in Fatal Fury... but he wasn't popular enough to appear in KOF 99. That's right, SNK was deciding whether to bring Rick or Xiangfei into 99... and Xiangfei won. Rick's replacement, Vanessa, would have appeared in 99 (along with Seth) but time constraints. However, Vanessa and Seth appear as strikers in the KOF 99 console ports, KOF 99 Evolution. - Uhhh... Andy's theme got a remix in this game? Lol - This is the debut of a guy named Alfred. Max didn't get to fight him (nor Krauser), but Alfred is a secret special boss... and he HURTS. Alfred is actually the main protagonist of the Real Bout special ps1 port, Real Bout Garou Dentetsu Special Dominated Mind (Japanese exclusive). He also appears as a striker in KOF 99 Evolution. - Once again, this is a non-canon entry. - This game has two openings: One with Rick and one with Xiangfei. Either way, they beat up the big guy named Lao... and Lao is playable in Fatal Fury: First Contact, a neo geo pocket color game loosely based on Real Bout 2. That's it! I'll have more to say in the next Fatal Fury game, Garou: Mark of the Wolves! I'm excited, hope you are!

RB2 is, in my opinion, the third best entry in the entire Fatal Fury series, only behind FF3 and Garou. Ready,GO! pumps you up for some serious matches) is seriously fun and the stage intros (Billy...As London March starts it’s riff...My God.Badassery at it’s finest!!) are so cool.... A missed entry.😩

Not sure if you are going to see this, but, each character has a move or two that can only be performed as combination of button presses similar to Tekken. For Terry's Power Dunk, it's down-foward + A, then up-forward or AB + forward for Power Charge.

He is not playing any of these games again lol... He is too outside his element in Snk games (as anyone is able to see in the videos). Also the games dont mean anything to his mainly American audience - who just like him grew alienated from Snk and are only attached to Capcom. I mean, he could pick Mvci to play, and it would be a more popular video than a video with the best Snk game. That's how the American fg fans are.

They were under a certain game presentation mindset, in the late 90s, where they were inclined to simplify things, instead of growing them in a linear way (like the natural expectation based on RBS from RB1). It was like: now let's cut out even seconds (intros and these special details) to make the game more profit efficient. That reminds me of how Capcom toned down some presentation elements in 3s, compared to 2i. Like, 2i ended up being the Last game with a specific victory and defeat art. It's simply that Capcom somehow decided to bet on a Very distinct musical direction for 3s, and that worked amazingly well. But the game doesnt have much care put on that presentation factor (unlike Sfa3 for example). It was a random bet that played out Very good for them. Both of those companies started getting kinda tired, i think. In the late 90s, with the notable exception of Jojo's Bizarre Aventure in the Capcom side, and Garou in the Snk side, It was mostly a time of winning the war by recycling your shit the most efficiently...
