This has to be hands down the best explanation video of ANYTHING I have ever watched. That was so in depth and information full in a nice way that wasn't an overload of things to think about. Whoever was in charge of making this video needs to make more and a raise

I’m not a transmission expert nor a mechanic, however; who in their right mind would come up with such a complicated design just to conveniently use an auto or Semi auto as a manual. Just stick to old fashion way ffs, either go full auto or full manual. If I knew about this problem I would have purchased my car with a manual gearbox. Plain and simple

This video did one thing exceptionally well. It absolutely convinced me, that from this day forward, to strictly buy cars that offer a manual transmission.

This is absolutely amazing! Never thought such complexity is required for changing gears! Also hats off to the person who made this video.
Been working on a 722.9 for a while in a Mercedes that i bought and although it is a pretty simple transmission there is still alot that can go wrong with it. Thank you for helping me understand more about the function of this transmission valve body, conductor plate, and solenoids. Great video.
Explanation is just mind blowing. Hats off!!

Thank you, great video. I have a much better understanding and appreciation for the the people who repair these transmissions.
Wow. Found this in my recommendations and it mad more sense then the classes I took for my Tech masters certification.

I was worked 6 years for Nissan as a CAD engineers and the "fluid pad" is the most crazy item for the automatic transmission.
Thank you for sharing such useful information and taking the time to do all those animations
Crazy good quality video to promote a company and services! Although I wonder how expensive such repairs can be. Perhaps it makes a lot of sense to just swap a broken transmission with a used one from a junkyard yard.
Awesmome 3 D animation. I shared to my playlist and shared.
Great explaination.. Basically the major cause of seal/piston failure is excessive metal particles suspended in the fluid that become abrasives in tight tolerance areas...the materials in the friction plates are probably the biggest culprit
Amazing piece of engineering 👏👏

@@AridersLifeYT the DSG is and can be verry a good automatic transmission, but every automatic has a point where it mabey breaks down completely or by a little marge. i recently had my clutch pack+ flywheel repaired for my 2011 golf 6 DSG 7. and i founded out that also the mechatronic unit needs to be replaced or repaired. so and i believe the mechatronic is the most expensive of those 3 parts that are essential for the DSG! so i thumb for you and lets hope the best.

mark Philpot there are sealed and there is no oxygen inside so the oil doesn’t degrade. The oil runs in near ideal conditions, that’s why they say it’s lifetime, however over many miles it still might need an fluid change. But then if something gets wrong and oxygen comes in it will degrade the oil much quicker
thank you for your always great videos! i wanna ask you please, i have a subaru xv crosstreck, i performed myself a fluid change following the MT chanel here in youtube, ive always flet something strange and i thougt the new cvt fluid could fix, or at less soft the problem...it kept going and i saw a video explaining how often this transmition have a failure in the tork lock up solenoid...ive measure my solenoid and i saw one of them not measures properlly... it seems to be it...bad solenoid...my question is...can a bad solenoid ruin or brake a good torque converter?...should i try to fix this as soon as posible?...subaru dosent sell only solenoid...they give the entyre valve body...its ok if i buy only solenoid from amazon or ebay?...thank you very much.

We are living in a disposable world now, replacing the valve body or any part for that matter is becoming a more viable option. It is sometimes cheaper then reconditioning and has a lot more of a chance to fix the problem and extend its operating life.

The problem is, dsg transmission problems often result in totalling the vehicle (particularly in VWs). Sure, if you have a shop that has all this high tech equipment to test and rebuild the mech unit, you are still spending big money. Replacing with a new mech is pretty pricey and, in my experience, it is a gamble. Then, there is still a big chance the problem persists or comes back soon, resulting in complete transmission replacement. I got tired of trying to go the mechatronic replacement route and ultimately having the uncomfortable conversation with customers that the fix didn't work and now they need a whole transmission. Talk about pissed! Now, my shop never replaces mech units. It is better to put a used transmission in and get rid of the car or just cut your losses altogether.
They never reply I see here, how you have any subscribers at all is amazing.
