I like to believe that the ADFX-02 Morgan have a mechanism made for reflecting the laserbeam, automatically redirecting it towards it's designated target, removing the need to manually aim. Something the ADFX-01 wouldn't have.

According to acepedia the adfx-02 has mirrors and actuators within the tls that can redirect the beam. Like u said, the adfx-01 doesn't have that.

It has a 360 gyrating sphere that is capable of turning via the operator's helmet wherever it goes(just like the F-35's EOTS system that turns 360 via the HDMS of said pilot).

The TLS on the Morgan Litterally has a gyrating ball where the laser comes from Look at any model of the Morgan with the tls and you'll see it

I think in ac7 if you see the weapon in detail. The part where the laser is being shot it has a sphere form. So maybe thats why pixy can move it to any direction

Pixy modified the lens so that it can angle the laser almost anywhere he wanted it.

How does Pixy turn the laser? The answer is... He has found a reason to fight and... *BORDERS*

When you think about it, the ADFX-02 is probabbly one of the most broken super planes ever made, the thing can fire multiple MPBMs without a cooldown on both wings, the TLS has a mechanism that directs the laser's lense towards it's target, and the ECM system is so BS that it can deflect bullets.

I guess since AC7 basically confirms energy shields that would mean the bullet deflection is basically a prototype of that. I don't recall AC3 having an energy shield at all, though, just advanced lasers. Also, the Night Raven is *much* more overpowered than the Morgan, it's laser (which I choose to belive is more a particle cannon) can blow up an entire city, and the thing is way more nimble than the Morgan if we scale the games physics to match.

@@majormissile5596 i think those are the force fields from the Arsenal bird, although, the reason of why bullets and missiles get reflected from behind is because the devs of ACZ REALLY wanted to get that Head On scene in the end xD Funny enough, the production code of the Night Raven is X-49 and since the events happens on USEA, that means EASA is still around since those are the ones in charge of the "X" fighter program that made the X-2 Wyvern, seeing that the Night Raven has a OP Super Saiyan God Blue version of the TLS, means that all Grunder armaments and research became normal on planes after some point.

from the ace combat wiki "In addition, the ADFX-02's TLS featured hydraulics, minor targeting systems, and internal mirrors, allowing for it to be redirected at different angles towards its target." And like what some comments state, the TLS model has some sort of axis that can allow rotating the lenses of the laser

ADFX-02 has an upgraded TLS that can aim towards targets. The playable ADFX-01 does not have this for balancing reasons.

My take on this: The laser is emitted from a sphere with a lens that seems to not be stuck to the main body with no way to move, I believe it can rotate on the X axis via the "socket" holding the lens sphere, and on the Y axis by rotating the sphere itself, Z rotation can be done by combining those two, and there you have it

Uh... nothing is gonna rotate on a Z axis because that's moving forward/backwards. X axis is left-right, Y axis is up-down.

​@@Thornbloom Rotation does not equal moving in that direction; X axis is the equivalent of roll; Y is equivalent of pitch; Z axis is equivalent of yaw; Rotating by Z axis is, for example, turning your head left or right, same result on the TLS pod can be achieved by rotating 90deg on X axis and then freely rotating on Y axis, which has now become Z axis

@@mrandrossguy9871 It does use mirrors on satellites but only when it's a target beyond the horizon, otherwise it just directly aims at the target like in the mission where you destroy it

There's probably some kind of system of mirrors in the lens that lets it redirect the laser beam, tbh. Maybe we can ask Raytheon or Lockheed Martin by the time 2060 comes around

its pretty simple: because he uses a TLS that is mounted on a Gimbal (or at least that's how it looks when you take a closer look at it) the likely reason you cant do this yourself in game is because this is not possible to recreate without using an auto aim function which would make this weapon very unfair

Thats the YF-19. It has a head laser that can do that :)
