How does mobile know about its orientation?

Ғылым және технология

This video explores the science and technology behind the sensors used for identifying the orientation of the mobile.
In this video, we will see the working of three sensors with their microstructure.
NOTE: There are different microstructures. The structures in videos are selected due to ti their simple geometry and structure.

    I have an image of accelerometer (3:33). But for gyroscope, the images were different than the model and this model was easy to interpret. I will include more microscopic images (if required) in future videos.

    @@ExplorerStuff also since they are micro mechanical devices can they be damaged with a hard impact like dropping them.

  • @ExplorerStuff

    @ExplorerStuff

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@bazrazin1 They are strong (depends on what strong is) for their sizes but it still depends on sensors. Like an accelerometer should withstand a fall, as it is created for measuring acceleration forces (same for gyro). If you have ever dropped your mobile, Its sensors will still work. The sensors are not isolated from impact as they have to measure it (I did that for free fall data, and they still work fine😅). Also, as they are microscopic, the forces are also small (not acceleration).
