If you want the best combos for the pets, i'd recommend you to pair phoenix and king, royal champ and diggy, electro owl and warden, and queen and unicorn.

I would recommend phoenix for king, unicorn for queen, poison lizard/ electro owl for warden and diggy for champion

For now I would just focus my DE on heroes if I had to prioritize. TH16 in under 2 weeks might change Pet meta entirely.

You should prioritize upgrading the diggy and the phoenix, these are the best pets in th15 and have the best use in clan war battles! Especially the diggy with the royal champion.
