Super helpful! I am learning how to idenify healthy horses for the future if I ever get a few and I wanted something both scientific and understandable. This is exactly what I was looking for!

Great video, many thanks. If possible, can you provide your thoughts on a post legged horse and travelling “out behind”, which I’m assuming is due to this conformation fault? Is it common in Arabian horses?

It's mostly due to the horse putting it's weight on the forelimbs. It's normal in all young horses. You can reduce it and post-leggedness, by training the horse to move collected.

Beyond the word confirmation do you think horse show judges are experts on equine and human biomechanics, asymmetry vs. symmetry, equine posture, fascia release, modern holistic modalities that contribute to better “posture” that will improve horse overall health? A lot of leg problems can be fixed with the right modality. Short choppy strides can be the source of correct in-hand work such as equine Pilates, waiting til the horse’s spine has developed before getting on their backs, incorrect training and riding, etc. I do agree with your breeding statements as there are horses with short necks, or big bodies and small feet, or horses that don’t match from the front half to the back half, etc.
