How Does A Helicopter Engine Work? | Turboshaft And Jet Engine Explained
Ғылым және технология
In this video we take a look at the Arriel 2 helicopter engine. We use high quality animations to explain it, as easy as it gets. The Arriel 2 is a so called turboshaft engine and later in the video we will also show the differences to other fixed wing (aircraft) jet engines.

Currently showing this in Airbus ec145 school for mechanics!!
Very informative and entertaining vid my Bwah!!👍 Nice job
Just to add at 2:50 you have shown F16 which uses Turbofan engine, not Turbo jet :-p however great animation for basic learning
I already knew how helicopter engines work. they make so much f'n noise that it makes them float

GE T-700, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It is fairly easy. If the engine wasn’t powerful, there would be no take off and flying. Thin as air comes to mind. And a Lycoming IO-360 needs about 32 liters of fuel per hour minimum… in a Piper Cherokee, and 40 liters per hour in other small aircrafts… Imagine the power and fuel needs of a large Airbus or Boeing… not to forget fighters and other military aviation vehicles…
What do you have spinning behind the axial compressor? That doesn’t exist.

I think there is an error in the 3D model. I bought the 3D modell and hired someone to do the animation. I'm not a animator by myself. I checked everything and I also noticed this error. But I think the main function should be correct, but yes this spinning thing shouldn't be there. 😉
Just get on with it! Let me tell you what I'm about to tell you then explain my explanation.

Engineers … Then everything like it was threaded on a string… But there are things like double the speed, and fast forward…!
Try and stick to one model/illustration and don't jump back and forth between different ones..

I agree with you, that would have been better. The problem is I have outsourced the animation, and with my tight budget I couldn't determine everything. Thanks for your feedback. 😃👍🏼

Thank you for your kind words. 😃
Question? How efficient is this engine? How far can you get with lets say 1 gallon of kerosene? Question? Isn't there power loss with each step?

question? why are you typing like this?
DEUTERIUM FUEL
i was expecting u will tell step by step from air enters up to mechanical energy i was expect ???? but not bro
When you keep rotating that fancy image you making people dizzy. Useless animation. You’d getter more viewers with well done hand drawing of turbine

It’s pretty straight forward…..air intake, compression, combustion, exhaust, power.
Why is video so damm noisy
