This feels similar to how my fiance and I got together. He has OCD, and it's...difficult for him to touch other people. Not because he thinks everyone is dirty, but because he thinks HE is. We'd been dating for several weeks, and we were out on a walk at the park. He was talking to me about how guilty he felt knowing I missed physical affection. I told him I didn't care, he was more important to me than that, I just wanted him to feel safe with me, and I would wait however long it took until he felt the moment was right. He stopped walking. Didn't say anything, just looked at me, and wordlessly reached out his hand just like Astarion did here. I placed my hand in his, and he pulled me closer. We just stood there together in silence for several minutes, feeling the warmth of each other's skin.....and that's when he told me he loved me for the very first time. That was three years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't swoon over that wonderful man. I still find myself falling in love with him all over again.

Yes! I just wish that it was longer because the moment he finally accepts the hug, Tav pulls back 😢 makes me want to jump through my computer screen and hug him myself lol

@@Kasiarzynka I believe that’s what makes it the sweetest option, because at first he looks like he doesn’t know what to do. But then he realizes the partner actually cares and relaxes

@@MoonsongReverb Yeah, the first time I used the tadpole connection so he could feel what my Tav feels towards him etc. Then I saw the hug on YT and it's my go to since. I like how hesitantly he accepts it, I think you really see something flip in his mind where he realizes that someone cares about him and it's actually ok to let them and all that. Especially with the hug being entirely platonic, which is a big part of what he needs, I think. I'm actually disappointed there's no narrator telling us about what's being shared with the tadpole connection, though...

The flirting is absolutely a defense mechanism, but I stand firm on the belief he's always been a snarky bastard even before being turned. That level of pettiness and sass is not something you acquire, you're BORN with it lol
