It's great for repairing loose pages in journals if you have a tendency to pull out pages; it's also great for sticking in cut out notes, pages, and pictures into a new book from a journal coming to an end; I love to use it to differentiate pages by sticking it to the edges of pages as shown here; individual sticker styles are also great to keep flag style sticky notes in place; I might even wrap some boring looking pens in it soon to customize! I'm starting to really appreciate washi tape. It's basically as useful as any tape, but nice looking! And there's something about stopping to be present and decorate your working journals ands notebooks. It makes the writing process much nicer!

Their website has a blog entry that rates the stickiness of the adhesive of all the different washi tapes they carry. Different strengths for different purposes.

that mostly depends on the brand and on how old the tape is. some brands are stickier, and it does loose its stickiness over time. but a "not very sticky" tape has its own purposes, and there's plenty of use for a tape that doesn't destroy the paper it's stuck on when peeled off.
