    Matt Fraser is so sloppy in his reps you can hardly count anyone of it to be truly acceptable. Literally gives the minimum form to get the reps counted for and throws his body to the next excercise

    Just so you all know. CrossFit was created for Special Forces Units that needed to be in top shape, just in case they got into any kind of situation. I am in the Army, and CrossFit applies to me 100%. If it helps me run countless miles and still have enough energy to do workouts (the running translates into "theres no evac and you gotta run / ruck 20 miles back to the fob, and energy for the workouts translates into I have enough energy to kill the enemy at any moment, or save my battle" then I am in good enough shape for any situation. CrossFit is about being in awesome shape.

    Жыл бұрын

    @@ThulungRai95 Clearly you don't know the backstory. Matt Fraser didn't win because he wasn't trying (and he basically says as much) - it wasn't until he lost to Ben Smith that Fraser was extremely motivated to change his approach. But in terms of raw potential - Matt was by far the better athlete.

  • @max_497

    @max_497

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Graham-Christian you may be right..but raw potential is not enough to win a competition...it doesn't matter if fraser gave his 50 or his 100...he was there just like rich and he clearly knew it was a test of his fitness and he lost...sorry to say but your argument doesn't have any point. One could argue that any of the athletes would have won had it been another situation . But we can't have a 100 first places. In that day in that situation Rich froning beat Mat Fraser. Next year Ben smith beat Mat. Then Mat won 5 times.Thats what happened

  • @Graham-Christian

    @Graham-Christian

    Жыл бұрын

    @@max_497 I wasn't saying that at that specific time Matt could have beat Froning. You don't understand my argument. My argument is that by volume of wins - Matt was the better athlete having won 5 crossfit games with a higher point average than the 4 crossfit games froning won. In other words, Matt has a better performance average over time to such a degree we can have more statistical confidence in his ability as an athlete.

  • @max_497

    @max_497

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Graham-Christian first of all you gotta understand something. unless two athletes compete at a same competition in the same circumstances we can't really say who is the better one.we can't truly compare pele and cr7 or bradman and sachin but we could compare messi and ronaldo to an extent.rich started competing in 2010 when CrossFit didn't have a massive audience and fame like today and there were not much strategic plays back then .matt started in 2014 when he had a clear picture of the crossfit and a living example who won it 4 times already.matt had advantage over froning when he reigned champion from 2016 but then again there was less competition in 2010 so its not really a good idea to compare them based on their champion trophies but a better idea to compare when they competed together. so if that's the case we both know froning was better . And if you don't know the whole back story back in 2010 froning was miles ahead of everyone else and was sure to be the champion. He only came second because he didn't knew the technique of rope climbing not because of lack pure raw strength. if that's not enough for you based your statistics froning was on the podium 10 times he was a champion 9 times . I am not saying one is better than the other. Both of em had their moments but for the sake of the argument if u wanna really know who is better make them go against each other in the same stage and see who wins...oh no wait a minute it already happened 🙊 and Rich Froning won...💪

    Man I sort of miss the days of Rich's dominance. Matt is begining his reign of dominance but to me he doesnt seem to exude that same fear into his competitors, perhaps it is because its early days yet. But looking at this video and others, you could tell majority of the athletes going agaisnt rich just knew they couldn't beat him. They were already going into competition defeated because they were in awe of Rich. What a beast he was, and still is! How do you beat Rich Froning ... you don't if you think that way. Every one of these elite athletes said how they are concerned about him & yet Rich does not obsess with thoughts about whether people are going to beat him. First & foremost you make yourself a winner & forget about everyone & everything else. It is *only* about personal achievement, raising your own bar & giving it your all - he said it at .45 that is what I believe Rich does & the results followed. Bottom line - you gotta want it.

But too put it into perspective, Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees was taking testosterone before games, and had a drug stack the size of a shopping list, and he didn't fail a drug test. Although to be honest, almost anyone can pull off what Rich does, he's not close to breaking world records in any of the big lifts, he just so happens to be better than any of the competitors at all of them.

    Very good point Joe I always like to look for the best in these guys,and hope they don't do any enhancing drugs,but I'm not ignorant to the obvious advantage it offers,and some may decide to use them.That being said Rich is not some powerful monster world record breaker, but he does exhibit extreme strength endurance which could be viewed as steroid use,but I like to think he's just genetically superior or at least I hope.

    Fair to say that every person in that video is a "professional CrossFitter." Chan, Spealler, Khalipa, and Froning all have their own gyms (though IIRC when Rich first won the Games he was still an assistant strength coach at Middle Tennessee State). So like most professional athletes, their lives revolve around their sport.

    People who say negative comments about rich or crossfit athlete using PED, most likely never tried crossfit and how hard each athlete works to be well rounded. To be accused of using PED without proof, is not just unfair but it is also insulting. I didnt like crossfit and I thought it's stupid until I tried it, I thought I was fit, but I never been completely wrong. These people , especially the top athlete in the games, they train day in... day out, eat healthy and rest to exceed their last performance. So, I would think twice to say negative comment about these athletes or any athlete in that matter, because we just dont know the work they do behind the scene. Thank you, God Bless!

    for all those people out there who talk about crossfit not being a real sport. the sport is about getting physically fit and to become a well-rounded fit human being. the skills you learn in crossfit can be adapted easier to other sports. now look at somebody whos bodybuilding. he might look bigger and stronger, but he only trained the same movements over and over again without getting that well-rounded skills to transfer to any other sport. crossfitters can swim, run, row, do gymnastic stuff (rings) handstand walks and all that stuff. being amazing and the best in one discipline is a lot easier than being pretty good in any discipline. its also about dedication and determination. how many of you haters talking shit in the comments, actually get up at 5 am, train your body, go to work, managing your family. you got to give rich froning a lot of credit. hes a hard working man

    I hate when I see comments like "just use more steroids," or "wait till black guys participate." It completely discounts the hard work and effort that these athletes put into this. Even if steroids were a factor, it doesn't make the person magically better at the sport. And more steroids doesn't equal better results. Lastly, saying that a black person would automatically be better at a sport is like saying a white guy is going to always be more intelligent. It's just plain racist and ignorant.

    But there are racial differences. It's in fact the opposite of ignorant. Black guys tend to average higher testosterone. And steroids, literally, do make you magically better at the sport. They reduce recovery time, remove natural limitations of muscle growth & improve strength and hence, make you magically better at the sport.

  • @nathanworthy7058

    @nathanworthy7058

    10 жыл бұрын

    imthehulk666 I wasn't saying that steroids aren't effective, obviously. I'm saying that you can't sit on your ass, inject a bunch of roids, and magically be the best at a sport. I have heard that black guys have higher testosterone, but I've never actually seen any scientific proof of that. I do know that there was a muscle fiber test of long distance runners years ago that showed that some of the blacks had a little different slow twitch muscle fibers. I'm in a graduate Biochemistry program so this stuff interest me. Anyways, my whole point was that you can't undermine these athletes hard work by saying basically that any black guy or roid head off the street would beat them. That doesn't give these guys any justice and makes it seem pointless for them to even try.

  • @klboi56

    @klboi56

    The studies are out there it's proven that you can actually gain a lot of muscle on steroids simply by doing nothing, obviously eating will provide protein and carbs but the steroids induce the growth which in turn uses the protein, maybe ill send you a link when you calm down, secondly I've been around the bodybuilding and powerlifting scene for a while, guys like Kai, Arnold, Ronnie are my idols don't think I disrespect bodybuilders you guys always twist people's words, if you went on steroids you'd see More growth then ever before, you wouldn't ever be pro standard though without hardwork, steroids get them to the level where they can compete then the real pros put in the rest of the hard work, like it or not it's the truth.

  • @klboi56

    @klboi56

    10 жыл бұрын

    The study showed and this has been quoted many times and is official that a group Who worked out naturally gained 4 lbs of muscle over 10 weeks on average the group on steroids who didn't work out gained 7 lbs of muscle and the group who worked out and took steroids gained 14 lbs of muscle and no insulting will Change these facts, I have no problem with steroids just don't deceive people, I have considered them myself at one time so am no way a anti steroid person, Infact I'm for steroids in pro bodybuilding. I don't deny the hardworking or dedication of pros but some people have to open their eyes and realise the difference they make and no muscles don't necessarily benefit from work if a substance such as steroids induces growth that growth doesn't necessarily have to come from working out but I explained that before.

    Jason Cross It's true: crossfit has always been a functional activity, not purely aesthetic or purely strength training. However, sacrificing proper mechanics for a new PR can make even the strongest bodybuilders and strongmen cringe. Steve Ornelas Because it isn't NEW. It's using Oly lifts and excluding other PROVEN lifts that do increase strenght and fitness. The only thing that has really evolved fitness is the actual gear we have available today, like isolation machines and the such; and better understanding on how the body works; wich by the way, Paleo dieting is not optimal for fitness. Maybe you think crossfit invented and developed all of their excercises? and the other thing; going against the grain isn't always a "new" way. Why haven't you tried for example, Mike Mentzer's High intensity training? that one goes COMPLETELY against the stablishment, train less, harder, once a week and see real gains; now that is something hard to do, untrain yourself from doing 4 routines a day and just excercise for 10-15 minutes for strenght and then do cardio the rest of the week. you ever tried it? if you haven't, do it; then you will too join everybody else in mocking crossfit.

There are steroids that do not make you big, such as halotestin, but they make you stronger than a bull! Many swimmers, boxer, cyclists and such use such steroids because it does not really change their body to what most misinformed people think steroid do. When people think of steroids they think of Arnold, Dorian Yates, etc, but the truth is there are many steroids that don't add size but they will add strength! This is most likely what Rich is using. And there are multiple ways to be a steroid test as well.
