How Do Landscape Architects Create A Design? - Breaking Down The Design Process
Have you ever wondered where Architects come up with the ideas to create these elaborate buildings, public spaces, and other designs? Well, today I will be breaking down how that process works, and how the drawing on the napkin, goes from a simple idea to a fully finished product that you get to experience today.
Now my name is Carter and I’ve been in the design world since 2016 and have been practicing professionally as a Landscape Architect for nearly two years somehow, I don't know where the time went I feel like I was in school yesterday.
So I’ve had plenty of time to study other architects and designers over the years and have had the pleasure of going through many design processes and creations in my career.
So that said, I will be breaking down how a Landscape Architecture Process works but it’s essentially the same except the main difference is one is a building and the other is more of a space.
But the way in which you arrive at a destination in the design is very very similar. And oftentimes, is a process that is done collaboratively with other disciplines.

Please explain more for the newbies like myself. Are Agricultural Engineers not looped in on these Design concepts? What about FoodScaping and Food Forests? Are these Niches within the broader industry?

Thank you, I don't know one off the top of my head but can do some research. A lot of projects have a cut and fill aspect especially when it comes to there water retention/detention.

I totally agree, Carter has a review of books on this same channel and it dawned on me that he has scoured the industry. My only justificaiton as a newbie, is there arent many new mindsets like Carter linking all of the disciplines together.
How much do landscape architects get paid? I’m quite interested in studying landscape architecture but I need to know some key things first

It largely depends on where you live and what type of work you are in, but you can expect somewhere between 45-120k for your career. (not entry level)
