Regarding a pre-nup, do what my friend did: While he was single, he wrote a letter to his future wife, who he hadn't met yet. It said, "I love you and I'm sure you've brought so much to my life. But I will be asking for a pre-nup for various important practical reasons." He mailed that envelope to himself. He then left the sealed and dated envelope in his desk. Years later, he did meet The One, and when the topic of pre-nups came up he let her unseal the envelope. This proved to her that the pre-nup request wasn't personal. That's important, on an emotional level.

You're the on right path but not exactly. Equals in moral character and desires regardless of income. No offense, it's like you're saying a pauper can't date a rich person without the temptation of wanting their money. If the pauper has good good moral character in the secular sense because religious morals are entirely different. Also if the rich person has good secular moral character as well as the pauper then the romantic relationship may just work if the couple agrees. Moral character matter above anything else when it comes to human traits. "Gold-digging" is a vice not a virtue.

My first advise is not to get married. Go talk to older men who were successful and got destroyed by family court. If you just have to get married then start by looking at wealthy older people who you wouldn't mind having as in laws and see if they have daughters. Sort of a top down approach. Higher a p.i. and check into everything. Make sure that you are actually dealing with a successful family and not fakers. The more you learn about women the less you will want to get married.

People haven't elaborated enough on this. There are a number of reasons that prenups don't work. In most jurisdictions they have a time limit. They can not stipulate child support. The closer they are sogned to a marriage, the easier it is to claim that it was sprung upon you and you were coerced into it. It could be thrown out due to allegations of spousal abuse. The bride can also claim that she did not have proper legal council when she signed. Another reason would be that you omitted financial information when it was signed. So what are they good for? Possibly good for the expectations of the marriage being laid out, and also for lining the pockets of lawyers.

....Drive something safe and reliable, just not new or flashy. Like a used toyota or honda, 5+ years old but low mileage, or a significantly older but low mileage and well cared for lexus or even a very old luxury vehicle like an old mercedes diesel. You could have some toy cars, but just keep them out of her sight, she doesn't need to see you in your luxury exotic sports car that you keep hidden in a storage unit or something. Just go get it when you want to go for a fun cruise.

I’m in the same position (not a millionaire, but debt and mortgage free etc) and I have to be very wary of suitors who inevitably are divorced with children, have maintenance payments and live in a grotty little bedsit who are solely hunting for a career woman to ease their financial burden. That woman is NOT me!! I drive a 24 year old car with scratches, a few dints and a ripped-off bumper and the way people react when I turn up on a date tells me more about THEM than any amount of conversation ever could. If they patronise me, look down on me or make assumptions about me based on my car, I’m off! I suggest this young man does likewise if he wants to find a person of integrity and decency.

Nahh, that’s just not true- you must not have ever been in a scenario like this guy. I know of a specific couple where the guy is worth 40M+ dating a girl worth nothing. The guy went back to school to get his Ph.D and met his wife, from a 1st gen family, who’s broke there. It’s just about making sure you are compatible and share interests. The aforementioned couple is incredibly happy and have a lab together, they have similar hobbies and compete against each other while obviously being in love, and supporting each other.

If it was in person then I agree, but in this case he is anonymously voicing it out to a financial advisor who is also in a wealthy position. The caller over the radio doesn’t have the time to introduce himself or his hobbies, he just wants to get the key facts over and an idea of what he should do. It’s no different to a caller over the phone in an opposite situation, in financial difficulty and seeking advice on what to do.

@@YellowheadHomestead I disagree, he sounds super excited to be making how much money he is making (and I don't blame him) and he voluntarily discloses to Dave and the other listeners how much money he is making. He should learn to only give as much information as asked for, no more, and probably less if he can. More about prudence and being tactful than anything else. With that kind of money at that age he will need to learn how to handle those situations without jumping off his seat with excitement. Maybe have a celebration with his family and friends to let off the steam then calm down and take it all in, get used to it.
