I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but one thing I’ve noticed for N/A motors is that the potential is based on if you don’t put forced induction on it. And I believe some of the motors are really expensive to get due to some of the cars they're in originally. I give it a month before the community figures out what motors are best per class as top speed for cars is determined by motor and transmission type (as well as parts on motor and downforce)

Wait wat. So to choose an engine based on max bhp (which I know is not the only criterion but still) you have to actually buy it first and see how much it goes up with a turbo?

Well I’m no wizard with the engines, but something I’ve kinda picked up on is the class it moves around too, if it jumps way up in class it’s gonna perform really good at least low to mid range but Top speed seems random, I bought a high end class Inline 6 for my Type-R and it can run with the Top dogs in A+ most of the time, but it’s top speed hurts on long tracks maxing at only 150, I’ve thought of trying a different one or jumping up to S, not sure. Sadly some ppl are just gonna waist money 💰, it’s worth it when you Win Big Tho!!!!

Also interesting to see some of the cars that are extremely fast that have no business being that fast. Like being a n a maxed out lambo and getting beat by a golf lol.

it comes down to weight , how the chassis handles the power , what class youre building for[ also top speed or accel. drift building] , i have like 80+ hours in it so far actually got that 400k v8 for the rx8 it sounds amazing and dominates s class even against hypercars with only a few upgrades , just alot of money to grind to test em great vid G ill be back

Take that V8 into S+ and it's garbage. Acceleration is amazing but tops out at 216mph. The V12 actually outperforms it. Got the RX8 S+ best engine video coming out in the next couple of days. And I've noticed the 3.5l V6 is a beast of an engine no matter the car.

@@KingdomTwelvefacts it does top out early but for the s class races it does the job fast and well , my rx7 has the V6 maxed out for s + gets to 233 but not as quick 0-60 as the R34 tho , I love my Mazdas

From the 16 different engines that I’ve swapped in the cars so far, each engine is different in it’s own way and best for a specific class. Like case in point a rotory rsr is weirdly enough okish for A+ while a VR from the nismo R35 in the nismo 370 is damn near god tier in A+

Plus the different parts you put on the engine for acceleration or top speed play a big role so it’s all dependent on if you want more torque, or power, or a balance so it’s not necessarily just max it out and you win, you have to actually tweak it specifically to get the right combination

Check my NFS Unbound Playlist. Got some videos out of what engine is best for what car and have a lot more coming.

The engine stats are based on what that engine has on it. ONLY the engine. That’s what is really confusing. Take the engine you have take bare it all down to see basic compared to basic etc. you kinda have to know what the other stats add on to your car score.

Hmm, yea someone said it doesn't take into consideration turbos either. Idk why they did it like this.

I engine swapped my Ferrari 458 and put the v12 option in it and it ended up making less hp and couldn’t even max out past 400. It is at like 378 or something. But not going to lie it does sound really good so I’m not mad. But what does suck is it doesn’t handle like I thought it would. It’s full grip tires and full grip handling. And it kicks out really easy in a corner and even though it’s full grip car seems like it wants to be a drift car. So I just have it because it t sounds wicked I guess haha

See this is my dilemma. A V12 should EASILY be 400+. And yea im going to miss the forged engines for the OG engine sounds for most cars. Only way I can hear the RB26 is to keep a skyline at a lower tier.

One thing I have noticed too is the potential lies

you can do a race alone

less weight, more airtime, more Nos, easier turns, more grip/drift more Nos, more weight makes it easier to ram people, some jumps are too high or low by weight and makes you crash on bridges… also maybe it’s just an Elite engine for A class is what they planned, something like that.

Spent an insane amount on the "super" engine upgrade (and buying all the parts again) for the 911 GT3 and... it has the exact same stats, feels the exact same. Basically just a huge waste of time to do if you trust the game to make sense on its own. Killed my vibe so bad I can't bring myself to launch multiplayer and start grinding again.

They should just kept the engine swaps just like Need for Speed heat but if the engine has multiple versions then of course the second version should be a higher tier than it's base version so each engine should have like a Ford or super or lead or ultimate version however they got it teared I think that would have been better if they would do that like if you got a flat four and then there's like a sport flat for or Elite flat floor or pro light just upgraded versions of that engine or forged versions of that engine the forged in super and Elite should always be higher and you should only be able to go from that to have whichever best you want out of those a four six or eight or 10 or 12

Did a 4.9L V8 swap on a Golf GTi Palace Edition, and it accelerates like a rocket at high-end speeds. Whilst the first 5 gears are extremely short and the 6th gear is incredibly long, when in 6th gear, it accelerates very quickly, 3.2 0-60 and 9.5-9.6 sec quarter mile, stats wise, 1,200+ horsepower. Unfortunately, the 4.9L V8 swapped maxed out Golf GTi caps at 222 mph, 226 mph with boost, and for me, it does feel stiff, but not as stiff as the other modern NFS games when it comes to driving the Golf GTi.

Noticed I could not out accelerate a GTi in MP but top end I beat it all day. They need less highway races for S+

It will be interesting to see if the game tells us which engine is the best. If it does and there’s only the 1-2 options, then all the other engines become kinda pointless, and except for maybe drift builds.

I used the engine swap to downgrade the Lamborghini Huracan Performante 2017, from a 314 S, to a 269 A+. 545 hp with 559 ft-lb torque. Top speed 172 mph. 0-60 mph in 2.9 sec’s. Quarter mile in 11 seconds. It has better overall acceleration than the Corvette stingray 2020, but a slower top speed. The all-wheel-drive of the lambo gives me better control than the rear wheel drive of the Corvette. Modifications. Downgrading cars makes them OP for lower Tiers.

It's gonna take like 2 years grinding everyday to get every car and every engine lol its almost too grindy of a game but somewhat makes sense to keep interest for longer but they also need to add more cars and events in the future updates

I've bought multiple engines and then the game didn't save them. Log in the next day, money is gone, and engines aren't bought anymore. They seriously need to fix that and give more money.

I'm trying to figure out what the difference is with B A+,S+ vehicles are and why I can't do missions unless I have them???... I sold my crown Victoria so it would quite making me use slow cars. Because I wanted to use my muscle car instead 😅

The worse thing they did was take away the ability to swap parts for the engines. Once you buy a new engine, you got to buy all the parts again

I have the 2015 one Type-R and it’s Gross in A+ with a swapped I6 but the top speed cost me races on longer tracks, maxes out at 150 with boost

so evrey engine you need to build the parts from scratch thats why you see the last engine is worst cuz it have no parts on it like your engine does you buy the new one and start putting upgrades into it.

Thank god the Hellcat already came with the best possible engine for it

I dont get it either I did the money glitch so I tested some stuff and they all seem different tryed the bmw m1 stock engine has 818 hp and can get rank 389 max the I6 engine that is sport is 691 hp but cam get 400+ at top speed of 232 the V6 that is a pro has 759 hp also gets 400+ but has a lower top speed at 228 so on paper your better off buying the cheaper engine makes no sense lol

@@KingdomTwelve Ya I dont understand what they did with the engine swap this year because I noticed on some engines get a higher potential after you upgrade them so they dont even tell you the right numbers always I feel like its bugged right now because it really makes no sense how you can pay an extra 300k on a pro engine that goes slower and does nothing elseI will do some more testing and report back lol

@@KingdomTwelve So tested some more engines in the rx8 and I am completly lost the stock engine has the highest top speed at 231 0-60 in 3.1 the sport v12 has 1217hp but has top speed of 221 same 0-60 and the super v8 is slower at 218 top speed the super v10 has a top speed of 218 and 0-60 in 3.0 so you pay 400k just on the engine to go 13mph slower and .1 sec faster 0-60 🤦‍♂️ Also just found out for some reason the hellcat sounds way better with the stock super roots supercharger then the elite version of it you can barely hear the elite 1 even with it max force induction

pls help. im on tier A car. after that do i need to keep my current A car and just upgrade it ro A+ or do i buy a new car that is already A+?

I don't believe so. The cars handling did not change no matter what engine I swapped in.

I’m also really interested to see what makes the most difference going for max tires and suspension over power or going power and learning to just control the car as is. Because with the lower class cars you have to be very careful not to go over the tiers. I really wish the only thing that effected it’s rating was power.

They really made this so confusing. Why not just make it straight forward, and make the potential clear as day and not change based on what you do to it. Spend so much time trying to get money to test a 400k+ engine just to get the edge you need versing other players online. Basically if you buy the most expensive engine for your car, it should be the best for that car. It takes the fun out it imo.

I am aware. Been around them my whole life. Was saying Heat had forged engines including the Wankel/Rotory. Unbound does not.
