How do dolphins use echolocation to navigate the deep seas?
Ғылым және технология
Dolphins may just seem cute and friendly, but did you know that they also navigate and hunt in the deep dark seas?
How do they achieve this impressive feat? With echolocation! They find their way in the deep seas by interpreting the echoes of the sound waves.
Find out all about this ability in this video.

A dolphin came up to the boat for food while I was fishing in Charleston, SC. I took a Snapchat video of him. I couldn’t hear anything at the time, but in the video, you can hear it squeaking like crazy. I wish I could upload it to the comment section Edit: I uploaded it to KZread. My first upload 😂

Excellent, informative video and the subtitles were nice. Good Job.
Unbelievable, altough I searched and already knew this! Nature is just amazing.
I love when they jump and spin! They're having fun!!!!!
how'd they fit a whole melon in there
that dolphin did a sick 720
was listening to a ted talk with Denise Herzing and she was talking about 2 way communication with dolphins with underwater sound devices. They played a underwater game where the human would request a toy from the other human by using sound. The dolphins would play too. They would later find out that the dolphins were mimicking the same sound pattern but at a higher frequency that they couldnt hear. Now that they know this, there 2 way communicator can be adjusted to it.
Fascinating
Amazing!
1:46 I have echolocation in my arse, my problem is the bounced back wave reciever. 😂😂
very informative, but how do they distinguish between their sonar echoes from those of other around them? Still haven't found that answer

They use differing frequencies. Each dolphin has their unique frequency which is used almost like a name. Mothers are know to refer to their calves using their unique frequency.

I'd imagine that every dolphin has a different "voice" that they know as their own signature. Just guessing

Its most likely like a sense, hard to tell how they would perceive it. I'd be interested if it was a learnt language or if its in their genes so to speak.
Amazing stuff👍🇳🇿
But how do they know where they are when they are in thousands of feet in water and thousands of miles from any land?
Interesting facts
Dolphin organ system.
I love dolphin 🐬
dolphins arent disturbed by the echolocation waves of other dolphins ?
I don't get it. How does the melon amplify, shape and direct sound? How does the jaw receive the sound? How does a dolphin know what echos off of artificial body parts sound like?

It's the same way you know how to walk. You don't even need to think about it, it just happens, yet it takes years of your life to perfect. You wouldn't be asking this question if you played a lot of video games, since you would notice how your muscles "do things" you don't even think about even after a few years of not playing. Your body would just react in a learned pattern to external stimulus without your consciousness having time to react and understand the problem, similar to Pavlov's effect.

Such precise engineering that is superior to SONAR just came out of nowhere?! Nah it was designed!

Why are stars round? Why are galaxies in a shape of a disc? You can apply the "intelligent design" to either, but do you really want to limit your knowledge on an assumption of an external creator? Don't you want to know how to become the creator yourself? Evolution has gifted us these minds to explore and learn, not to succumb to limitations imposed by dogma.

According the the x and y and z location I see you are in my class but you spent the whole class typing this, how do I know this? I know because I made a formula saying if x=2 and 2=y and y=z and z=nothing you only did this, you did not pay attention but don’t worry, I won’t tell. But still i had to spend a few minutes trying to discover this information
I think that echolocation is not working as it should. The behavior is different. They can't speak or hear. I think that piracy, sea battles and oil, nuclear and other accidents, and predatory fishing are responsible for the extinction

Cool and yes I have a life and yes it is great to communicate with the same reason that 😌 and thank you because 🙏 everyone else is going to communicate Only the same reason that you are frightening to me that I can proof it and then you have been trying to figure something about what happened to the bank and then you have no clue what happened with the same way to me but you again I don't think you can get away from the Law Enforcement people and really because you don't care because you just don't care about them anymore but you can get the right to do things to communicate with me and the first time and what type of person is the reason to keep me and the only reason why I don't care about anything else and now I'm not going to do anything with it and yes it was extremely good and cool to me but I never been able to go out and what type of 😮
