How Do Dogs Get up So Fast ? - in 4K Slow Motion

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Dogs stand up really fast, I never noticed how fast dogs get up until I recently.
I always wondered how dogs get up as fast as they do, so I decided to use the high-speed camera to film a German shepherd and a chihuahua to reveal just how canines are able to get up so quickly, they go from a lying down position to a Sprint in a fraction of a second, much too fast for eye to see what's happening.
I was amazed by the results and in the end I realized that dogs don't waste time moving around like we do, they just spin in place and pop straight up in an instant.
Thanks for watching and if there is anything you want to see put to the test, have a deeper understanding of, or just want to expose how something works, feel free to reach out and request it.

    My poor german shepherd didn't stand up so quickly because his bones was deformed in the last years of his life. I have remembered my beautiful dog seeing this video. Poor of him passed away two years and a half ago. I remember him with every german shepherd I see. He was a good friend. And yes, he is in my avatar. Greetings from Spain.

    I second that motion, both dogs stuck their tongues out(maybe to clean the nose for a scent?). It would be interesting to see if most breeds do this or just breeds that have been trained on scents. Chihuahuas are still in the rodent catching family so it would be a great test to see if this is something all dogs do or just certain breeds for sure.

    Machin Truc My dad had a chihuahua when I was a kid and she was never trained but when we had mice she would instinctively catch them.. killing them instantly and seemingly painlessly (for the mouse) and then bring the dead mice to whichever family member was around that she had the most connection with. Usually my sister, and it freaked her out so bad every time lol

    it's likely because they're expecting a treat for doing their trick correctly. They're salivating because they were likely rewarded with food when accomplishing a trick. I don't think this has anything to do with smell.

    That was really neat to watch. Thank you for answering that question I didn't know I needed an answer to, until seeing this video 😍 I would love to see a Greyhound get up in slow motion. Growing up I had one and they are so top heavy, that it's hard for them to sit, but laying down he was almost always on his back as it was more comfortable for him, maybe? I do know a lot of kicking took place trying to remain in that position. So seeing this in slo-mo would be amazing. Thank you for sharing this video, looking forward to seeing more!

    I theorize that 90% of this speed comes from mental readiness as opposed to physical movement. Your dog is clearly always ready for a command even when she appears to be completely relaxed (Which means she is a very good dog). Being in that state of being ready for even the slightest indication that you want something from her, should make her reaction time quite a bit faster.

    Tzadvantage Bkk yeah when we got our routine eveyrthing is the same so our brain doesn't work that fast anymore due to lack of stimulus

  • @iownornot1

    @iownornot1

    6 жыл бұрын

    this has to do with the amount of information your brain has. for example you develop lots of routines as an adult and a routine allows the brain to work faster because it know's exactly what to do. well maybe not work faster but it just takes shortcuts in the thinking process therefore you perceive time as going faster. This is also why it feels like it takes longer to drive to a place you've never been before than the drive home. you're constantly seeing new things so your brain has to process new information constantly but when you're driving home your brain already has a lot of that information so it feels like it takes less time to drive home. Sorry if the English isn't top notch :S
