How Do Big Families Cope On Holiday? | Big Families

Could you manage 17 kids while going on holiday? Are these women just addicted to having babies?
This show follows some of the UK's largest families and investigates why and how these families are able to add to their already massive households. We visit the Radford family house who are pregnant with their 17th child! Both Sue and Noel definitely haven't lost the magic and want their family to keep growing! We join them as they go on holiday and explain to us the process of taking their family abroad. Could you handle the stress?
We also meet the Sullivan Family who are at 9 kids and counting, and what's even crazier is that they are all home schooled! A household of boys with only one girl and mum Tanya! Currently, Tanya is pregnant with twins and is so happy she's going through the process again!

Sue and Noel, in order to round up all the kids (if at home or out in public) why not establish a whistle (maybe 3 loud sharp notes) calling them to you? With a large number or only 1 child, it’s wise to establish a ‘habit’ that makes them drop what they’re doing, and run to join whomever is in charge. That could mean mom, dad, big brother or sister, grans, etc. Protecting and sheltering our little ones is so important! 🥰 When I was a kid, my brothers and I spent an afternoon learning to make the loudest whistle we could…didn’t need to use fingers at the sides of our mouths, just blew, with our tongue up against our bottom front teeth. It surprises people in a crowd when I let a whistle rip, lol! 😝 Being able to get the kids attention quickly sure eases anxiety and worry. Even if you buy a whistle and carry it on a lanyard (cord) around your neck, you’ll have it with you at all times. It worries me to see you panicking whenever one (or more) of your children is missing 😂❤

@@katepausig8562 …. I meant no disrespect! My mom used this method for us when we were outside playing in the woods and a horse pasture. We had lots of freedom and she could always get our attention by whistling loudly. The sound of a whistling is ear piercing and used even by professionals in many fields of rescue! Not only that, if you’re able to physically whistle loudly, you’re able to bring life saving rescuers to your own aide. I’m 70yrs old, being able to alert my husband or anyone else that I’m in distress is a valuable asset to me. Besides, we have 2 dogs and they don’t respond to a dog whistle…even if it is silent to our ears.

It’s so selfish to have so many! There is no way the existing children ever get enough one on one attention in this kind of hectic environment. It’s like no one’s voice is heard which can lead to lots of issues in the future. The eldest are bringing up their siblings and that one woman who risked her life for the twins has literally just had them and then said “I just love that feeling in the delivery room” as she plans the next pregnancy as the other kids don’t give her the high. This is no different to any other addiction, and ultimately, as always, the children will suffer.

I understand people want big families but honestly there should be a limit. The more pregnancies, the more riskier it gets....its unhealthy for the kids born later in life and also unhealthy for the mom. I mean, The Sullivan family had 8 miscarriages. Plus....how on earth can two people afford to raise that many kids? Some kids are bound to be ignored, get less attention and usually the elder kids are expected to help out which isnt fair because the parents decided to give birth to more kids than they can handle, thats not the elder child/s responsibility....they deserve to be kids as well. No kid or parent would ever get a moment of privacy (which is just as important as family time). It has to be very stressful taking care of that many kids...like seriously their wish for a large family is stronger than their common sense?

These families are wonderful in the way they manage to keep discipline among children. We find it difficult to manage even the 2 or 3 kids we have. But they are doing marvels. I feel the British should be grateful to these people as they fill up for those who are unable or have decided to not have children. Among all those foreign genes coming into your countries, you all need people like this to maintain your population. They deserve the support of their community more than this. But unfortunately people these days have learnt to shun children so selfishly that they view this kind of families in a negative light. If they are not entirely living by social funds why should it matter to anyone although i feel the government should support them whether they request it or not.
