My mom was hit by a car in a Walmart parking lot once. She had been wheeling a cart in front of her so when the car hit the cart stopped my mom from being too badly hurt (I think she was just bruised or had the wind knocked out of her or something). An employee had run to stop the driver from taking off.

When I was on the train, a man was sexually harassing a woman who was clearly uncomfortable with the contact. I asked her if she was ok. The guy who was trying to convince her to give him her telephone number, got angry and told me that him and the woman didn't need my help. I told him that she can speak up for herself. When he threatened me, became visibly alert and I held my ground. After the lady got off the train, the man said that if he ever saw me on the train he would murder me. When it was clear that I wasn't going to back down, he grabbed his back pack and walked away from me, he said "I'm getting away from you, Weirdo." I called after him.. "I'm hella weird. You should get away from me as far as you can. " This guy was overweight, but he was huge compared to me. He was probably 5 foot 9 inches tall. I am under 5 foot tall and I was able to get him to back down and leave in a hurry. 😂 Stand Tall 💪

I was playing a sort of party video game based off series like Total Drama I was good at, but normally lately, I have been playing casually. That said, I do tend to help my team out a lot. When it came down to the individual competitions, I end up being accused of all sorts of things like cheating, and all that, along with illegal shit which kind of crossed the line for me, so I ended up deciding to get 0.8% more serious at the game. I pulled out all the stops, I won more competitions. After someone gave me a false safety advantage (A real one gives you immunity from being voted off), I ended up using a real one on them later on and said "Oh, this was the one you gave me." And basically, pulled out all the stops. I used their teaming against me against them in some rounds. As their numbers go down, they end up getting more and more rude, and finally, the final three, all I can do is chow on my popcorn as their votes are outnumbered by the number of different categories I met. They made it like it was going to be a one-sided battle, and they were right, it was a one-sided battle... against them. They ended up leaving me alone in later games.

I work at a gas station that's part of a grocery store. While I have to deal with far fewer rude customers than when I worked register inside, I still managed to have my WORST at the gas station. A little background info: My store has a fuel rewards program, where you can earn points by shopping in the store and redeem them to get $0.10 off per gallon for every 100 points you redeem, up to twenty gallons, on a single vehicle. Note that last point. This is something I've had to explain far too many times, as (much like turning off the engine and not smoking while fueling) it's predominantly a safety issue, since moving the nozzle from one car to another can cause static, especially in the winter. We allow gas canisters to be used, however, if you're really that determined to get the full twenty gallons. Now, with that set up out of the way, the story: It's winter, and two vehicles pull up to one of the fuel islands, pumps 3 and 4 (one on either side). Notable, one looks like some sort of utility company van. I watch as both drivers (a man and woman) get out and start chatting while the van's driver (the man) starts filling up. So far, so good. I notice on my screen that he's used a lot of points (I don't remember exactly, but I think it was nearly $1 off per gallon), and immediately start paying closer attention. Two cars pulling up at the same time, both drivers chatting, and only one starts fueling with a significant discount? It's usually an indicator that they're going to try to move the nozzle from one car to the other, to get maximum savings. Sure enough, after he's done with his van, he tries to pass the nozzle from pump 4 across the island to the drive who pulled up at pump 3. I hit the emergency stop button to shut the nozzle off, then get on the intercom and say, "Only one vehicle per transaction." What happened next is a bit of a blur for me, as I was scared out of my mind. The man goes off, screaming and curse, shouting profanities at me, accusing me of being on some power trip because I turned the pump off. He comes up to the kiosk (where I'm operating the register) and starts banging on the glass, so hard that it shakes. It's a locked room, thankfully, but I'm only a small woman and he was being extremely violent. It was the first time I ever had my finger on the panic button. After repeatedly telling him that it was the company policy and a safety issue, and that I couldn't change that, more screaming and cursing, he and the other driver eventually left. I was very shaken, but it doesn't end there. I saw them pull into the parking lot closer to the store, so I had a suspicion they were about to go inside, possibly to continue ranting. I called the front desk to warn them, giving them as many details as I could while my voice and hands were still shaking. Fast-forward a bit and they've left, and the store calls me back. Apparently, the man had come in screaming about how rude I had been, but didn't explain much, but then his wife called shortly after (the other driver, it turns out), and told them that I had turned the pump off while they were trying to fill a gas canister. I told them that was only true if their gas canister had four wheels and an engine, and asked if they needed to come look at the security video to see what actually happened. They told me it was fine, they knew she was full of BS because of how her husband had acted, and had just wanted to let me know what had happened down there and that the issue was resolved. Now, I had gone from upset to angry. This couple tried to lie about what had happened to get me in trouble? Oh, that wasn't going to fly. Remember how I said it looked like a utility company van? I remembered the website listed on the side, and I looked them up. According to the photo on the About Us page, the man who had been flipping out at me was the owner, and would you look at that? A contact email is listed. I signed that email up for roughly a hundred or so church fliers on various subjects, up to and including marriage counseling, among other things. Wish I knew the final outcome, but glad to say I haven't seen the pair since.

Here's what I might do: Since they were so quick to lie to get you in trouble, turnabout is fair play. If you found a company and contact information, a lot more could be too easy to find, like a home address and when you might catch his wife at home while he's out. Get together with a young (just the wrong side of legal type of young if possible) pretty friend. Do some makeup and then dribble some water down her cheeks so it looks like she's been crying. She goes and knocks on the door and when wifey answers it, she says something like, "Tell [husband's name] he won't have to worry about child support; I got an abortion! And I don't ever want to see him again!" and then storm away without another word. Or, just as vicious but more shocking to the wife, get a similarly young and attractive guy on board and this time, the line is, "Tell [husband's name] I got tested and I'm negative, so he didn't get it from me! And I don't want to see him again; my parents almost found us out!" Show him how much trouble a lie can really cause. But that's just me and I'm old, intolerant of scummy people, rather in favor of a scorching revenge, and can be treacherous when crossed.

Where in the world is working in banking, seen as a "low tier/class" job. Plenty of room for growth in the finance industry- starting as a teller, and here in Australia, the job tends to have reasonable pay rates- especially as you move up the corporate ladder- and its seen as a stable career choice. I worked in finance not long after i finished school, and although i chose to leave that industry, the skills are transferable to almost any other.

Story 8 is my absolute favorite. I thoroughly adore when someone who is insanely rude and disrespectful gets cut out for a person who is kind and genuinely wants to be included in whatever event or situation that the person who is awful ends up losing out on due to their entitlement and assholery. That just makes me so freaking happy, like Fantasia hippos dancing on their tippiest toes happy, for real…😁😁😁

My story time: Was at work. My MoD (Manager on duty) went to help an older lady reach coffee filters. She was a frail and short woman with a walker, she could NOT reach the top shelf where we - for some reason - keep our coffee filters. So my MoD goes to help her. I am ink tagging clothes at the time, basically an anti-theft measure - for anyone who isn't in retail or doesn't know what an ink tag is - and this horrendous woman walks up to my register - my light is off, my counter is full of clothes yet to be tagged - and with the most aggressive tone goes "Is this register open??", and I reply - nicely - "No, b-", before I could continue speaking, she interrupts me, as they always do, "Well, that other woman went to go talk to her friend, and the only open register isn't active so.", and I just continued where I left off with "I can get you down on the other register" - something we're technically NOT supposed to do, as we could screw up the other person's drawer, and then who knows who's responsible for the screw up in case the register is too far off at the end of the night. - I took her to the other register, my MoD's, because she has given me permission to use hers before if I need to, and I wanted to get this witch out of my sight. So I start scanning her stuff, and the entire time she's bitching about how employees need to do their job, and I just gave an uninterested "That lady back there needed help reaching the coffee filters. She couldn't reach them.", and this woman doubles down about how we need to do our jobs, so in a less patient tone I just said "Well, sometimes our job requires us to help reach stuff.". At this point I was entirely fed up with her. She was just bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch about everything I said to try to explain how retail works to her - spoiler alert, retail employees aren't just paid to stand behind a register - and so this woman finally got on my nerves, because she was straight up shit talking my MoD by this point, and wouldn't you know it, my MoD happens to be my mother. Through some tricky internal stuff I am actually allowed to work under my mother at the store I work at. TECHNICALLY I am not working at that store, but for the company, filling in hours that need filled in. I am not technically employed at that store. Yes, it's a lot of technicality. So I can feel my eyelid twitching by this point. This woman is being a total bitch about it. And usually, after someone pays, I slide the receipt over the counter with a "Here is your receipt, and have a wonderful day/night.". This woman's receipt prints, and I slid it across the counter and said "here's your receipt.", and walked away without making sure she got it and it didn't slide off the counter, or get hit by the sudden gust of the door opening. She didn't care for this action, and yelled "You just slammed my receipt on the counter, you asshole!", and I was like "No. I slid it across. Like I do for everyone.". And she - once again - doubles down with "YOU ASSHOLE!" (probably because she didn't have anything to say, but thinks that having the last word means she's better). So on her way out the door, I give the most aggravatingly exaggerated wave imaginable with a smile and a "BYE!" - which was 100% intended to bait more irrational behavior, and it worked - because this woman leans back in to scream about me being an asshole. TLDR: Woman was being a bitch, so I matched her energy in the most passive aggressive way. I intentionally baited irrational responses, because I know how that mindset works, and I know how to exploit it in the funniest way. Maybe she was right to call me an asshole, but you don't shit talk my mother to me. Closing note here: I know damn well she went home and posted on facebook about that event, but left out the part where she did wrong. She's a middle aged plump woman. Not to profile, but I am gonna profile - she 100% lives through Facebook, and rants CONSTANTLY about miniscule shit.\ Plus 5 points if she calls my generation entitled, because I've met more people of her generation with entitlement problems than I have from my generation while working there.

I did this once, while absolutely not intending too. And honestly, I do feel a bit bad about it, since I eventually realized the rude person, likely had either a mental illness or some form of dementia (something that only became completely obvious toward the end of this strange interaction.) But I was working early one morning in a store, overseeing self check-outs when this woman walked in - one basket filled with various items, glaring at the machine, not saying a word despite my usual 'good morning.' She ignored me again when I asked her how her day was... glared daggers when I offered a bag. And she began to literally scream at me when I said to ' have a wonderful day,' yelling in my direction about my smart mouth and disrespect, with no clear reason whatsoever. This unexpected yelling devolved quickly into muttered remarks about how she's not afraid of me, and how I don't scare her, until she finally just walked out. There were other shoppers present too, sadly. And they and I only exchanged baffled looks for a moment as I wondered what (if anything) to actually do about what may truly have been a safety concern to this retreating customer.

Can we as a community agree to switch from 'mouthing me off' to 'giving me lip' please lol

In the UK the OP could have reported that driver for leaving the scene of an accident to the police. There are certain animals (horse, cattle and dogs to name a few) where if you hit them you need to report it to the police, and often they will come and investigate why you couldn't avoid hitting it (drunk driver, driving recklessly etc).

I don’t like people like in story 21. OP assumes that she didn’t need the handicap spot. My mom has isn’t in a wheelchair but she also needs that spot. She looks fine but she has had days where she’s in so much pain that she can’t walk. I hope OP really made sure she didn’t have any invisible disablies or OP and the father would have been the douch bags

This person is just subtly rude, but it was just really annoying cause it was after work and they were told multiple times and they were constantly like just another min. I work at a thrift shop, a lady around her mid 30s or so came in three minutes before we closed and grabbed a cart. They filled it about half way and then used the line as extra time to go around the whole store to shop. Probably wouldn't care if she was in line or near the line once everyone else was checked out aka being ready to check out. But no they had to be escorted to the registers at 10 after close cause she still had things she wanted to look at. Going anywhere else but the registers. They dumped everything on the counter and wasn't sure what they wanted, like whatever not the end of the world just really annoying especially when they have a cart half full of clothes and things. I ask about some things they have poorly tucked away and if they want to buy it. No they don't but don't wanna give it to me to put back later either. Eventually we get them to put everything they were hiding the counter most are cords they don't want and they go off about being accused of theft. It's like 20 after now she'd chilled out and there's like 5 items she's getting. I told her the total and followed with, 'it's senior day today, there's a discount. Are you 55 or older?'. She was stunned and blinked at me. She asked me and my coworker if she really looks that old and I tell them I don't know, I honestly have a hard time guessing ages, and that I ask everyone who isn't obviously a child or obviously older/regular, which is true. Only difference and what I didn't say is that usually I stop offering when we close cause I want the transaction to be done. They just said no and I said oh ok and rang them out. They were still stunned as they were escorted out 25 after. We got out 55mins after we closed due to having to put everything they grabbed back. But we laughed about how stunned it made them the rest of the evening as we put their mountain of stuff
