It’s in wrestlers best interest to be nice to the writers because the writers have the ultimate power over the wrestlers, they can make them look good or bad.. Booker T immediately knew he screwed up by acting that cold to Kristian he had to save face..

Love today's episode. Kristian stories are awesome, and just hearing his and mark's Hollywood stories of writing is great stuff. I wanted to be a screenwriter, and got accepted to UCLA and everything. But same time, found out I was about to be a father at 17. Fast forward to today, I'm now a bio tech scientist. Life is crazy.

I was a huge smart mark from like 1995-2007 when Benoit died. Had a wrestling hotline in the Detroit market (which we had a good amount of 438s ((all the numbers started with 438-xxxx)). Would love trivia from say late 80s to mid 2000s.

Great story but I think the moral isn't don't give up on your pursuits but rather seize every opportunity. He got the job not because he kept writing letters but it was because of who he knew. That accountant girl have him opportunities and he took them. Still a great story though.

It's great that Kristian actually had a passion for the business. It's too bad that WWE hires sitcom and soap opera writers instead of people who actually consider themselves real wrestling fans and have a real understanding of the product.

Earl Chatterton You don’t know how the writing works, do you? Shows are constantly rewritten with Vince giving final approval and writers on average either get fired or leave within a year or two due to the stress of the job. It would be awful to be a WWE writer right now. Plenty of people who understand wrestling have been writers and then left. Ryan Ward was the lead writer for NXT before moving on to Smackdown and has been in WWE for over 5 years. There’s the core group that stays, but a lot of writers come and go.

cgarciahfcu Whats weird about his story is Kristian first says that if the person next to you is successful and you're not its because you are doing something wrong. Then right after he says that he says he got the wwe job because of Jackie. He was getting rejected by the wwe until he knew someone inside the company. He's giving advice to people that contradicts his experiences.

I liked wrestling from the attitude era so 97 ish to 2010. Tried to tune in again in 2011 briefly for the summer of punk lost interest because they had triple h beat him which made no sense then came back in 2014 and just hated what wwe had become. Hated watching all 3 members of evolution getting bitched by Daniel Bryan and the shield. Tried again this year with batista and kurt angle retiring but my god it's soo bad. It's sad how bad wwe is these days

Sideshow BOB The RENTBOY Hating the best wrestlers for WWE in 2014 is a hot take. Bryan with his run as the most popular wrestler was one of the last times that a wrestler actually was good for ratings where people tuned in. Evolution had no business beating them in 2014 which would have been ridiculous. Raw is awful now, but Smackdown and NXT are good. NXT is the best WWE product and a lot of the Attitude Era sucked. That’s the most overrated time in wrestling history.

@@DanV900 i'm not debating with you. i can already tell you like wrestling matches for the wrestling where as i want a good story i don't care for flips every 2 mins because they look cool. i'm a fan that wants to be entertained. if you like that style then i respect that but the attitude era was the best time in wrestling. from 96-2001 was the peak of wrestling i won't be told otherwise as the ratings from that time with wwe and wcw back that up.

  • @DanV900

Sideshow BOB The RENTBOY The fact that you assume that I care about the wrestling and not the stories with the amount of dumb stories in the Attitude Era is very stupid. The ratings claim also doesn’t hold any water. By that logic, great movies that were bombs aren’t good because they didn’t make money. PWG shows are almost always just entertaining exhibition matches, but stories elevate matches like during Bryan’s run from 2013 to 2014. If you didn’t care about him and his story with jumping back in, then that is a you problem where you missed why you should care about him. The best time creatively for WWE were the first 6 months of 2000 with the way everyone was booked and then Steve Austin’s arc from the Royal Rumble to Wrestlemania 17 in 2001. The entire Attitude Era had a ton of dumb crap in it which isn’t arguable and I could make a long list of that. The best promotion at telling stories right now is OTT which is based in Ireland and it has great matches too. I could post multiple links, but the Devlin/WALTER promo last year and Devlin/Starr promo this year exemplify that the best.

The funniest thing to me is that since Wrestlemania, Kristian hasn’t talked about wrestling. He focused so much on Becky and then completely ignored Kofi winning the title as a black man in the lead up to Wrestlemania. There are actually interesting things happening too that anyone could talk about with Lio Rush’s situation and then how Luke Harper has been treated further proving that Vince McMahon is incredibly vindictive.
