How Did I Struggle So Much in This Landscape?

I should have done so much better with my landscape photography in this location. It was stunning, dramatic and full of potential, yet I struggled to convey any of that in my landscape photography and I left feeling disappointed with most of my landscape images. My wildlife images though, left me feeling excited and thirsty for more. Thank you to MPB for sponsoring this video. Buy, Sell & Trade Your Gear: bit.ly/3A5UKSs

I see all the great landscape and thinks, panorama. Not a dedicated series, a wide flex of shoots that can cropped, combined and edited to taste back at home, as you can seemingly are overwhelmed by raw and beautiful landscape of that are remote location.

You’re like the Bob Ross of landscape photography, when you want something calm & cool to watch turn on Thomas

I feel like this area/trip for you is something that I learned from you years back: just because it's amazing scenery, doesn't mean it'll be an amazing photo (though, all your photos are amazing, but I can see how you can feel the struggle)

the only reason i would be okay with losing my memory is so that I could rediscover your channel and your marvelous content. 😌

Been an enjoyable series Thomas seeing the challenges of what you had to contend with along with the images that you were able to capture. As you summed up at the end, the adventure is as important as coming back with images that you are happy with. Appreciate the commitment you put in to your channel in order to share your work with us

Glad you enjoyed it, much sooner you than me, boats and me don't mix unless I am photographing them from the shore.... 🤣🤣🤣 The fox photographs must have made you day, would have made mine.

I find when I am excited about a shot in the field, it rarely impresses me when I get home, while a photo walk that feels disappointing at the time often leads to a few 'sleeper hits' when I get them home.

TIL: "Blowing a hooley!" I'm going to use that one. New t-shirt slogan: "Rocks, mountains, sky, oh my!" Good stuff. There was a whole lot of smiling going on. I had a "not a wildlife photog" moment in Maui last month when I had great timing catching a humpback leaping out of the water only to have it end up out of focus. Yours are much better ;-) Thank you for taking us along!

Had a little chuckle. Couple of buckets of water for the lavvy, then just sit and wait! (Oh and the Fox image was stunning.)

Great adventure in this fantastic Heaton location. I'm glad to see that the Nikon Z7II held up through snow, freezing rain and all manner of inclement weather.
