Hi, I’m Jamie M and I want to thank you so much for playing my requests. You have a great channel and great appreciation of good music. I don’t adhere to one genre, just like good music for the sake of good music! I’m old enough to have seen Queen with Freddie in concert at least a dozen times and at the time it felt life altering! Queen are my all time favorite band! Thank you, I am really enjoying your channel!

4 guys who could write, play, sing and entertain… John Deacon on bass vastly underrated, Brian May simply a guitar god, Roger Taylor one the best drummers who could sing too and then Freddie leading us all, including the audience. No synths until BoRap. Saw Queen many times in 70’s & 80’s, always a brilliant show that left you wanting more.

Right -- Freddie was recorded as saying once that he was fortunate to be ina band with two of the best singers in the world (or words to that effect). He was referring to Roger (who has remarkable command of the upper range and a great falsetto) and Brian, who has a very decent rock voice. Both have forged strong solo careers outside of Queen. John never sang on any Queen studio album but did very occasionally contribute to backing vocals live (but really shouldn't have!). Hw was very capable on bass but his stand-out talent and contribution to Queen was his brilliant songwriting, with most of his songs that were recorded on Queen albums going on to be hit singles.

The most prominent backup vocal you hear is provided by the drummer, Roger Taylor, which you will see singing by himself toward the end of the performance. He's got a fantastic voice, as does Brian May, but Roger's voice is pretty amazing. He has a very high falsetto that you really hear in Bohemian Rhapsody but also has a great raspy rock voice. The "call and response" section that sounds like gospel is because Freddie wrote this song as a tribute to Aretha Franklin and her style of music. The original official video is pretty amazing too!

They had been on a tour and Freddie had problems with vocal cords or something.Doctors had advised him not to sing. The vocal warming up with the audience-who didn't come to see queen because it wasn´t known Queen would perform that day-was also a break for Freddie's voice. And exercises like this is good for the singers voice.

There has been no one else in the music world whose death affected me so much, I think that is because he always seemed so perfectly in the moment and intensely alive. It seemed impossible for that to be gone. It made us all feel more alive with him. I am always glad his performances have been kept available, while sometimes the world around him seems to have dated Queen hasn’t seemed a part of that. I was only reading a couple of days ago about how much he was loved, by so many who knew him well, and how much he loved them too. Thinking back he did so much for diversity too, he crossed so many barriers, in fact he just lifted them as if they never existed, because he was so amazingly talented that very few could resist him!

If u think this is the 2nd best live performance of theirs, then you havent listened to any of the bootlegs...The fact that this performance is, in their standards, just a good, decent version is a testament to what they were capable of. Listen to the first night version of this song (This filmed version is the second night) and you'll be blown away.

Great comments ! We were so lucky. I was obsessed with Boston, their first album is a masterpiece. Also a great band live, got to see them in 1976 or 77 at Madison Square Garden, memory is fuzzy lol. Happens when you get old. Some great bands of the 70’s to add to your list, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. But to this day, Queen was the best concerts (saw them twice) I’ve ever been to, legendary.

From great sadness can come great beauty. Freddie was the best poet of his time in that sense. And so much more, of course. Without the other band members I think he would have still become a huge success. But that band by itself was really special. With Freddie it just seemed like genius echoed from every single note played and sung.

I love this performance, imagine being in that audience. Another outstanding live performance by Queen is "White Queen" live at Odeon, Hammersmith 12/24/1975, you should check it out for yourself or as a reaction if you so choose. The instrumental portion of that song will absolutely blow you away and Freddie's vocals are immaculate. Thank you for your reaction.

I know everyone recommends the awesome Live Aid concert, but for me you can't really beat Wembley, particularly the Saturday version. All the iconic songs, Freddie's great eeh oh with the audience, not forgetting Brian's virtuoso guitar solo from Brighton Rock... plus the " revisited" version of In The Lap of the Gods. If you're going to react to Live Aid, though, please make sure it's the version that doesn't cut the ending! Oh, and I should also mention Freddie's operatic turns with Montserrat Caballe. You really will see how versatile he was.

Freddie Mercury was the greatest rock singer of all time, just an incredibly powerful voice, that could also hit so many octaves. I was lucky enough to see Queen live, twice back in the late 1970’s at Madison Square Garden. Greatest rock shows I’ve ever seen. Also, it’s funny, today’s youth only know about auto tune, they often ask if Queen is using auto tune. There was no such thing available back then. This is pure singing and talent.

What makes Freddie Mercury a LEGEND? His voice, stage presence/best frontman ever, his charisma, and just his overall personality. Oh his very dedicated fans as well, coz I've actually seen a youtube shorts video about Freddie Mercury and BTS imitating his chant for the crowd and it was a bad imitation that people started dissing BTS coz they said it was very disrespectful to Freddie, and no matter how much insult BTS members get in the comments, you will see no BTS fan insulting Freddie coz they were also a fan of him. I mean c'mon Freddie is literally loved by everyone. BTS fans stand no chance to Freddie's fans. He was THAT loved.

I remember the first time I heard Queen as a kid, it stopped me in my tracks. I was used to my parents' music (classical and '50s "golden oldies"), and they sounded so different to anything I'd heard before! I told my parents, "Queen is the best band ever!" (I was probably under 10, and my parents did that little giggle thing when kids say something funny). My dad still doesn't get Freddie & Queen, but my mother does. Her history of classical music can be heard in a lot of Queen's songs. Admittedly, I became a bigger fan of Prince as I got older, but when I hear these amazing performances, I remember that "Queen is the best band ever!"

Thanks for the great reaction! This whole concert was great! It was filmed over two nights and the band, mostly Freddie, was not happy with the film crew.
